Warcraft 3 Restarts my computer -- help!!
After around 45 mins or so of playing, my computer restarts. Afterwards if I try playing again, it restarts in about 10 minutes. My first thought was that it was overheating, but all my fans function properly and I can play much more CPU intensive games than WC3 just fine. I have all the latest patches and drivers, and my specs are way above the recommended ones for WC3. Any suggestions?

Use the Night Elves :shifty:

One of the problems could be too much programs running at the same time. It did that with Vice City. If the porgram uses too much ressource, your ressources may "fight" in a way for memory spac. Shut down IM programs before playing, it'S a big problem. Just make sure you have a lot of space available.
That or a conflict in ressources uses, like video card or sound card, but I can't do a thing about that. |
WC3 is the only thing running :-/

yep, besides the basic necessary programs required by windows, WC3 is the only thing running

Yeah I had a problem like that a while back. I was playing the game Oni and it screwed up my PC for whatever reason. Like my PC would just freeze and stuff after a while. What I ended up doing was just leaving the entire thing off for like 3 days straight, that seemed to fix it up.
Although in my case it might've just been an over-heating issue, so I doubt that'll work for you |
Is your PC dirty?
|
I blow out all the dust with a compressed air can about once a week

You dont think you need a PC cooler?
Other than that, have you installed any programs recently or upgraded anything? Also, go to http://www.bigfix.com and download their program and it will send you fixes straight to your computer. |
Ok, will try it out, thanks ninti :y:

is it possible that there is a problem with my power source?
|
It sounds a bit off for it to be that if it only happens with WC.
Why not try formatting. Might as well. |
good call, will give that a shot tonight, gotta find my windows cd

Ok I was looking through my bios, and under voltage, this is what it says:
VCore - 1.6v +5V - 5.22v I/O - 3.36 +12v - 0.24v that last thing was red...which means bad. And I assume since it said + 12v next to it, it is suppost ro read over 12 volts, but its at .24...I assume this is bad. Is there any way to fix this without getting a new power source? And could this be the problem to my WC3 Restartage? |
people have told me something about static discharges...lol wtf?
