When Angle asked him what it felt like facing an Olympic Gold Medalist, Martel asked Angle what it felt like to lose to John Cena. Angle slapped him. He made Martel tap out with less than a minute left. Tazz got into the ring to congratulate Angle for being undefeated and asked him about the Shawn Michaels challenge on Raw. Angle teases speaking, then throws down the mic and walks away.

*Heidenreich read a poem. Josh Matthews came up to him and brought up Booker T, and he recited a poem about Booker.

*Orlando Jordan helps JBL get dressed.

*JBL Celebration - JBL's celebration has catering and a live band, and guests. The Bashams and Orlando Jordan came out, followed by JBL. They had a musical tribute to JBL and presented him with an oil painting of JBL. Big Show hits the ring and trashes the set, but is taken down and tried up in the ropes. John Cena hits the ring and breaks the oil painting over JBL's head. Teddy Long announces Big Show and John Cena vs. JBL and Orlando Jordan later tonight. The segment took 40 minutes, including set up and breaking down the ring.

*WWE Cruiserweight champion Chavo Guerrero pinned Funaki. Paul London hits the ring from the crowd and chases off Guerrero.

London is going to get a match at mania. YEY!

And wasn't Matt Striker the home town hero a few months back? He's the guy with the Unibrow who worked for ROH right?

Shaggy 02-23-2005 03:03 AM

Oh for the love of god....are you telling me that this JBL Party is gonna take up 40 mins of Smackdown.....this is crap

Corkscrewed 02-23-2005 05:21 AM

No, the report indicates it took 40 minutes to set up the set, conduct the promo, then take down the set.

The promo itself will last only 35 minutes. :shifty:

Corkscrewed 02-23-2005 05:21 AM

(It'll prolly be like 5-10 minutes though, seriously)

Hardkore Kidd J 02-23-2005 09:04 AM

Sounds okay didn't top that segment on Raw though.

SMACKDOWN IS LONDON!!!

Anyway hopefully this show will actually be better on TV.

I miss Rene :(

Azriel 02-23-2005 10:46 AM

Well that was kind of stupid, teasing that Long might be replaced and have it come to nothing.

I have a feeling something else will happen to cause Long to be fired as GM.

Fignuts 02-23-2005 12:42 PM

JBL makes smackdown worth watching. Also, I can't stand Long. FOLEY FOR GM.

How many freaking GM's does Smackdown need? Just in the past couple of years they have had Stephanie, Heyman, Angle, and Long. In that same amount of time Raw has had Bischoff and Austin for a brief period as co-GM. I'm just saying that the last thing Smackdown needs right now is another new GM.

Corkscrewed 02-23-2005 02:56 PM

To be frank, what SD needs is NO GM. Enough with the authority feuds already.

KingofOldSchool 02-23-2005 02:57 PM

Here are the Velocity/Dark Matches:

Dark Match:

*Shannon Moore & Frankie Kazarian defeated Big Vito & Nunzio when Kazarian pinned Vito.

Velocity:

*Paul London pinned Spike Dudley with a German Suplex.

*Rene Dupree pinned Scotty Too Hotty.

*Hardcore Holly & Charlie Haas defeated Mike Kruel & Fred Sampson when Haas forced Kruel to tap out to the Haas of Pain.

*Booker T pinned Kenzo Suzuki.

Innovator 02-23-2005 03:18 PM

so no Aries? thats a shame

SuperSlim 02-23-2005 05:30 PM

well at least the dark match sounded cool. and Celocity sounds aight but Smackdown, besides London's part, sounds like a snore.

Chavo Classic 02-25-2005 01:37 PM

London put my ass in this seat.

Chavo Classic 02-25-2005 01:38 PM

(obviously not literally, I mean he's not a care worker at a retirement home where I might reside... I mean.... oh forget it)
