What the hell happened?(Maven)
What the hell happened? Maven was doing so well with his heel turn, and was getting the most heat on RAW... All of a sudden he jobs to Benjamin and Batista in two quick matches!! Then Maven introduces us a new finisher and it looks like thing are turning around for Maven... But just when things start looking up he is taken of RAW completely, and is back on heat!! Why has this happened? Does the WWE dislike Maven because he was tough enough competitor, and he is not natural? Whatever it may be they have to push Maven he has proven despite his background he is great!!
|
Maven is improving, but he still lacks a vared moveset (and considering how little WWE superstars actually get to showcase their movesets, that is bad.

New finisher? He had a finisher within the first 3 years? :?:

56k 300k Yea his first years he used the top rope mistle drop kick... later it was the Halo ddt(top rope)... Now he drives his knees into the guys lower back(sick move)!! |
Humour is wasted on you folks.
I don't really count a MISSILE dropckick as a finisher these days, given the prevalence. |
I remember when Booker T used the missile dropkick :'(

Pretty cool move actually. Anyway, he was shafted because he's still too green. That's what I remember. |
That is a sick finisher.
But what name should it have? |

damn the finisher did look dope

As you can see from my avatar and stuff im a Maven fan and I was happy that he was finally getting a push again. I say again because he had a good one going before he got injured. Now that he was a heel I thought it was gonna be great and then he got his IC title chance and WWE really screwed him. They could of made that a good match instead they made it into one big screw up on a big time screwup of a ppv.

I agree that they dropped the ball with Maven. Yes, he's not the best wrestler out there.
However, he's got the microphone skills. He could have had a real nice feud with Shelton. Instead we get to see Snitsky feud with Shelton. I don't know how they can feel that Maven isn't ready for the spotlight when they are giving it to Snitsky big time. |

Still, the pushing of Snitsky is asinine. It's a shame to have Shelton wasted on his ass. Maven's not great, but in terms of at least a decent midcard wrestler, he can do the job. It's just that he's been so misused it's not even funny. Yeah, Funky's dead on about the limited moveset, but that's something they can work on (And should have BEFORE pushing him). |
Hmm we have a real talented guy here in Shelton, but we need someone for him to feud with? I KNOW SNITSKY! It's a perfect match!

You forgot the *snort* sounds as they did another line. |
With KK and Funky talking about the limited moveset, the only thing I can really think of is how Maven is purely WWE trained. He was brought up in Tough Enough and did time in OVW. Most of the wrestlers coming out of OVW and the WWE farm system all have the same moveset, which mainly consists of restholds, bodyslams, and now full nelsons.
Something has to change, that or bring in some new talent from OUTSIDE the farm system. |

Yeah, his turning point could have been at New Year's Revolution where he faced Shelton Benjamin for the IC Title, but instead, they put him on the mic for five minutes (which wasn't bad by any means) and have him get pinned by Shelton in one move... twice in a row. Killed any heat he had going for him.

It's hard to really distinguish yourself when you're sitting there in the exact same boat as everyone else. |
that was a kick ass match...fucking awesome finisher, and good physcology by maven...constantly targetting the back :y:
|
Maven is improving and that was a good finisher :y:
But I still can't take him seriously because of Tough Enough |
