incredible new bands

i've been... well, what's the point. none of you will listen anyway, what with your fascination with piece of shit emo bands. nevermind.

The Destroyer 03-08-2005 11:37 AM

And yet you bothered to post this anyway. Please accept my apologies that us mere mortals can't have musical taste that meets with your ever so high standards.

Kane Knight 03-08-2005 11:48 AM

Wow. And here I thought I might come into a thread about new bands and actually get some good recs.

Funny enough, you could have written that into an emo song.

I'M GETTING THE SHAKES

asphyXy 03-08-2005 02:29 PM

"WE ARE DEATH... FUKK YOU!" by SADISTIK EXEKUTION

Yes, that is an actual album by an actual band.

mitchables 03-09-2005 10:39 AM

OK, HOUSE OF PANCAKES. YOU DON'T LIKE EMO. WE GET IT.

You can stop being hilarious now, before my sides split.

Kane Knight 03-09-2005 11:18 AM

So...Anyone got any incredible new bands?

I'm open to most everything but country, pop rap, and wusscore (Emo-boy band punk shit).

Anyone else may apply within. I've been tiding myself over by filling in holes in my collection of Judas Priest and Megadeath...

House of Pancakes 03-09-2005 11:30 AM

i have too many to list. give me specifics on what you're looking for, and i'll recommend something.

in fact, i officially name this the "house of pancakes recommendation" thread. i will turn all of you into crazy mofos like me.

The Destroyer 03-09-2005 11:38 AM

Stop being awkward and just recommend something there's a vague chance people might like.

Kane Knight 03-09-2005 11:43 AM

Mostly, I'm into rock. Not the new "If we play shitty and low fi it's rock" stuff, but like legit rock, from the 50s to modern day or anything in similar stylings.

However, I'm into pretty much anything, and wouldn't mind some new bands of any genre.

House of Pancakes 03-09-2005 01:05 PM

well, i'll just throw out a couple of albums i've been into lately.

fantomas - suspended animation
kaada - thank you for your valuable time
flat earth society - isms
idiot flesh - fancy
eyvind kang - virginal coordinates
june of 44 - four great points
yoshimi and yuka - flower with no color
boredoms - seadrum/house of sun
venetian snares - winter in the belly of a snake
tin hat trio - book of silk
and of course, all sorts of new john zorn stuff, always mike patton projects, and always sleepytime gorilla museum

Think they are, just with a different singer.

The Mask 03-12-2005 09:40 AM

Stina Nordenstam

I wouldn't know how to describe her, but I guess she's like a less eccentric Bjork, plus very cool, in a lounge jazzy type of way.

The Mask 03-12-2005 09:57 AM

Stina Nordenstam - Parliament Square (click and it'll take you to a downloading page)

Yuck.

The Mask 03-12-2005 11:23 AM

WHY DON'T YOU JUST LISTEN YOU BIG FAT PAEDOPHILE. GOD. :'(

Kane Knight 03-12-2005 11:26 AM

1) Because your mum doesn't count as a kid. So paedophile's out. :p

2) Because you compared the music to Bjork, who sucks massive ass.

3) Because you've turned into an emogrrrrl.

House of Pancakes 03-12-2005 11:49 AM

well anyway, everyone in the world should love sleepytime gorilla museum.

Fabien Barthez 03-12-2005 07:27 PM

I think the Dunders and KKs of this world would appreciate Nic Armstrong and the Thieves so just have a listen on the site

My friend sent me some songs by the bands Pain of Salvation and Porcupine Tree, pretty awesome. :D

The Destroyer 03-15-2005 06:23 PM

Both good bands. Although just how good is probably dependent on what you got sent, they've both changed a fair bit over the years.
