[3-08]Velocity and SmackDown! Spoilers

Velocity:

Shannon Moore/Nunzio lost to Johnny Nitro/some guy/Rochelle

Bobcore Holly/Haas def. The Bashams

Spike Dudley def. Scotty 2 Hotty

Paul London def. Akio

Dark Match: Booker T def. Heidenreich in a street fight

SmackDown!:

JBL opens with a promo about how great he is, just like usual. Awards OJ with a new US title (the original one) and destroys the spinner belt. Him and Orlando Jordan challenge Eddie/Rey for the tag team titles.

Teddy Long tells Carlito he wants an answer about Randy Orton's challenge to the undertaker, that Carlito must find the deadman and ask him otherwise he's unemployed.

John Cena comes out, demands for Teddy Long to schedule a match, Long disapproves and gets an FU for his efforts.

Mark Jindrak def. Luther Reigns..nothing interesting, a few boring chants.

Kurt Angle LADDER invitational. He challenges HBK to a ladder match at WM21 and says next week he will have a match with, yes, Marty Janetty. Defeats some random guy by climbing the ladder and getting his gold medal.

Carlito calls the Undertaker out to the ring, and of course the Undertaker accepts and then gives Carlito a tombstone

Big Show is told that Akebono has challenged him to a sumo match at WM21, he accepts. Nothing else of interest there.

Eddie/Rey defeat OJ/JBL via DQ. Rey was going for the 619 and JBL hit him with a chair before he connected.

Show ends with the cabinet attacking Rey and Eddie and then John Cena comes in and clears house, and that's it. John Cena talks a little bit afterwards, doubt it will make it on the air.

Biggest pops:
John Cena
Taker
Eddie/Rey
Bobcore Holly

Most Heat:
JBL
Heidenreich
OJ

HBK/Kurt Angle Ladder Match :(

Enjay 03-09-2005 12:11 AM

Marty Jennetty. *mark out*

RGWhat316 03-09-2005 12:27 AM

Um, I like ladder matches and all, but to have two on the same night? I have a feeling Shawn might change that stipulation.

And two shows in a row, a top guy on the show gives the GM his finisher. Kind of interesting.

Marty Jannetty? Are you serious? Why?

That's weird. I mean, I used to love the guy and all, but it's kinda...out of place. The WWE is just grasping at straws now to make some kind of pre-WM matchup where Kurt Angle's opponent has some connection to Shawn Michaels in some way.

Then again, I've always wanted to see how Jannetty and Michaels would interact 12 years after their last confrontation. Hmm.

yea I dont see them having two ladder matches in the same night...besides we wouldnt want HBK and Angle to upstage the 6 man ladder match. I say they could go 2 out of 3 falls or something like that.

McLegend 03-09-2005 01:07 AM

I say they have a normal match

The Icon of Elisim 03-09-2005 01:07 AM

Marty Jannety on Smackdown is such a cool prospect. Could be a really funny promo, probably funnier had it been a surprise

Maybe Michaels will fight Eric Angle, or whatever his name is, on Raw now

TerranRich 03-09-2005 01:13 AM

Hey, you know, that wouldn't be so bad. Angle vs. Jannetty, then Michaels vs. Eric Angle. Hm.

Esoteric 03-09-2005 01:16 AM

marty jannety thats a tight idea it would be tight for the end of hbk's career him and marty jannety can be the middle aged rockers and lead the tag team divisions into greatness

Corkscrewed 03-09-2005 02:51 AM

DAMMIT, I'll be on a plane next Thursday!!! Everytime I don't have a chance to see SD!, something good actually happens. :'(

But two ladder matches is definitely :wtf:

Maybe it was just an idea, but it'll change. And eventually, they'll do a 30 min Ironman Match.

weather vane 03-09-2005 04:21 AM

MARTY FUCKIN JANETTY!

Pegasus Crawford 03-09-2005 04:56 AM

Haha, you know what would be funny? A "3 Stages of Hell" match between Angle and HBK: Ladder Match, Iron Man match, then Hell in a Cell.

Boondock Saint 03-09-2005 08:29 AM

Sounds like a fairly interesting show.

BatistaBomb 03-09-2005 10:12 AM

he did'nt challenge him to a ladder match and the heindenreich/booker match was taped for smackdown

the first match was johnny nitro, joey matthews&melina

the bashams beat bob and charlie bob was so damn over it was unreal

we also had a tag match to close the show cena/big show vs jbl/orlando cena won with the fu and then worked the mic some more and left through the crowd

also cw anderson and sonjay dutt were 2 of jbl's security

orlando jordan got hurt at the end and heindenreich was legitimately knocked out by a vicious booker t chair shot

overall good show and about 7,000 in attendance

Hardkore Kidd J 03-09-2005 10:13 AM

I've never seen Marty Jannety in the ring. Wasn't he the guy that got thrown through the barbershop window by Shawn? You have to clue me in I haven't been a fan for that long. I hope the match changes too. Iron Man match or 2 out of 3 falls match would be cool.

That makes sense. I was starting to doubt the intital report when it said that a Booker T street fight was in a dark match. Granted, Heidy belongs there, but not Booker and not a gimmick match.

Sonjay was in the house? Sweet. I may have to tune in on Thursday just to see him on Smackdown.

Disturbed316 03-09-2005 11:13 AM

I hope The Rockers reunite

Back in the late 80's/early 90's, Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty were a great tag team known as The Rockers. Shawn started off his singles career by, yes, throwing Marty Jannetty through Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake's barber shop window.

I knew all about the Rockers. I had friends who were really interested back in the 80's and early 90's. Now, I just never saw him or Marty wrestle as a tag team. I started watching in 99.

Thanks for that info. But, I knew they were a tag team called the New Rockers and wrestled in the 80's and early 90's. I may have not been a fan back then but my friends would talk to me all the time back in the day about the Rockers and Bret Hart and all of that non stop. That's how I knew that Shawn threw Jannety through a Barber Shop Window. The one thing I didn't know is that It was Brutus the Barber beefcake's Barber Shop window. I just said I never saw him wrestle. SO I'm kinda looking forward to this match against Kurt next week. I am just hoping it isn't a complete squash.

Corkscrewed 03-09-2005 03:12 PM

Well, the NEW Rockers were another team that Janetty was in a few years later, but that never really panned out. I don't even remember who his other partner was, but the New Rockers came long after HBK embarked on his singles career.

I'd rather Kurt and Shawn have an Ironman match honestly.

The Answer 03-11-2005 12:13 AM

You guys don't get it,Janetty is a one time thing. Remember Angle(Raw Spoiler)stated that he in 4 weeks would accomplish everything HBK did in his career. And how did Micheals begin his rise to the top? By beating the shit out of Janetty, Barbershop style

Janetty will just jump through the nearest window to get away from Angle. What a coward.
