So What Are The Odds Of...(RAW SPoILeR)

<font color=white>So What Are The Odds Of... Marty Jannetty sticking around for a bit now ala Curt Hennig & Goldust at Royal Rumble 2002 and Viscera a while back? Now I haven't seen the show but from most of what i've read on the Torch etc, people seem to be raving about it...</font>

Dave Youell 03-15-2005 08:56 AM

I wouldn't be surpirse is Jake hung around backstage doing some writing for the show as he used to a while ago. As for Marty, I dunno, I know he can still go, but I doubt he'll be kept on.

SuperSlim 03-15-2005 09:17 AM

yeah I doubt Marty will stick around.

Blue Demon 03-15-2005 09:44 AM

It'd be kinda cool if both stuck around for a bit, but I doubt it.

I-Hate-You 03-15-2005 10:19 AM

I think it would be more ideal if there appearances were limited.

What he said.

Thriller 03-15-2005 12:37 PM

I think if he puts on a good match with Angle then he'll be sticking around.

Anybody Thrilla 03-15-2005 12:57 PM

I think it would be sweet if Jannetty turned on Michaels. If you think about it, he should still be angry over the Barber Shop incident.

Kane Knight 03-15-2005 01:27 PM

Anyone else expecting JR to cry "FAMEASSER!!!!" When his finisher hit?

KayfabeMan 03-15-2005 02:09 PM

Jannetty can definitely still go. This is one guy that no matter where / when you see him, he performs amazingly. I have had the pleasure of seeing him live in WCW, ECW, independently on several occaisions, and WWF, and each time he's been excellent. :y:

I caught the RAW match last night, as I got a phone call telling me Jannetty was on.

Good stuff. I like the old-school style they worked, and the fact that they got Marty to get the pinfall, giving him some steam before SD!, for new fans who might not know about or think he is capable of hanging with Angle. At least it makes for a good lead-in.

Kane Knight 03-15-2005 02:29 PM

Yeah, it was good business giving him the win before he went to Smackdown.

Shaggy 03-15-2005 03:20 PM

I hope they let him stay around. He showed the fans last night that he could still go in the ring. I think they should keep him around for a while. If they keep him on Raw they could have The Rockers all over again and perhaps we might finally get some good Tag Team competition going on again.

Anybody Thrilla 03-15-2005 03:30 PM

Those tassles have got to go, though. He looked like a tool.

It's RETRO, man.

:shifty:

Anybody Thrilla 03-15-2005 03:52 PM

If he really wanted to go retro, he should've worn an IcoPro shirt.

Kane Knight 03-15-2005 04:06 PM

Or jobbed to Hogan.

Loose Cannon 03-15-2005 04:50 PM

They should keep him around to book and run the whole tag division

ok wait, so Jannety is going to Smackdown?

:?:

Jaton 03-15-2005 05:03 PM

Perhaps he could salvage what little bit is left?

Evolution 03-15-2005 05:05 PM

Yeah he's facing Angle this week.

Anyone else notice Michaels mucked up the nip-up but Jannetty pulled it off?

Loose Cannon 03-15-2005 05:07 PM

They both screwed it up. I watched it again this morning.

The Naitch 03-15-2005 05:14 PM

I only saw Jannety screw it up. Sorry I dont record RAW anymore. Waste of ribbon

Shadow 03-15-2005 05:26 PM

They both fucked it up at the same time. That was great!

Uhhh...Yeah.

If you're from a country that doesn't get Raw live, 'sfine. Otherwise, how did you miss the fifty times it was mentioned?

Mayo 03-15-2005 07:17 PM

I think it was more for nostalgia and to make him seem like more of a threat, and Angle will most likely destroy him this week as an example to Shawn and he won't be seen in WWE for a looooooong time.

Thats actually what I see happening.

I think they'll have Angle destroy Jannetty on SD tonight, maybe put him in the hospital. They'll talk about HBK being by his side and whatever. Then at Mania, Jannetty comes in and tries to cost HBK the match against Angle.

I hope they just let them wrestle and have a clean match, but thats just what I see happening.

Come again?

Kane Knight 03-15-2005 10:38 PM

THEY SAID HE WAS GOING TO FACE ANGLE ON SMACKDOWN LIKE 50 TIMES.

Corkscrewed 03-16-2005 02:11 AM

I wouldn't mind seeing him stay on. I haven't heard much about him since he left the WWE, so I was shocked to see him still performing at such an incredible level! He looks a lot different, but this was pretty crazy. He's what... nearing 40 at least? I dunno, but I was very impressed.

RAW was awesome.

Kane Knight 03-16-2005 02:12 AM

I wouldn't say incredible, but I was damn impressed.

Anybody Thrilla 03-16-2005 01:21 PM

It was cool to see Jannetty, but he wasn't that fucking awesome. Decent? Sure. But what about that performance were you guys so impressed with?

Kane Knight 03-16-2005 01:32 PM

The fact that a 40 year old could jump withoutbreaking a hip.

I can tell you first hand that Marty was only scheduled to do the Smackdown match as a one nighter. Obviously plans changed.

Are you Marty Jannetty's brother, Rob Jannetty?

Naw. He's Marty's manager. :shifty:

Anybody Thrilla 03-16-2005 06:48 PM

Haha, for some reason I just thought of when I was really young and I had a bunch of WWF figures. I had the Rockers and I later got the solo Shawn Michaels and solo Marty Jannetty. While the singles guys fought matches on their own, I used the old Rockers figures as guys named Jean Michaels and Eddie Jannetty. They claimed to be the brothers of Shawn and Marty and formed a tag team called The Real Rockers.

I was such a tool.

Kane Knight 03-16-2005 07:09 PM

Eddie Janetty?

Did he lie, cheat, and steal?

Anybody Thrilla 03-16-2005 07:11 PM

They cheated, yes, but they hardly ever won. I fully understood the concept of jobbers even back then, and that was just a weak gimmick.
