Very Cool thing about Kurt Angle

Took this from www.clarion.edu (My school along with being Kurts Alma Mater)

The NCAA and the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) have collaborated on a unique project, and that project will determine the official 75th Annual Anniversary Wrestling Team. The 75th Anniversary team will be announced at Union Station, in St. Louis, Missouri, on Friday March 18th at 4pm local time.
Announcing the team is also being done in conjunction with the 75th Annual NCAA Division I Wrestling Nationals which are being hosted at the Savvis Center in St. Louis.
The NCAA collaborated with the NWCA and a panel of collegiate wrestling experts to compile a list of 45 all-time best wrestlers in three basic weight categories. Those categories were lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight. Fans from across the nation voted online at the NWCA web site. The top five vote getters in each of the three weights will be presented Friday as the 15 greatest NCAA Division I Wrestlers in its 75 year history.
Of those 45 wrestlers who were on the voting list, Clarion University had two wrestlers appear on the ballot in Wade Schalles and Kurt Angle.

Angle, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa. (Mt. Lebanon High), also had a storied career at Clarion University from 1988-92. Angle posted a career record of 116-10-2 (91.4%) and was a two time NCAA Division I Heavyweight Champion in 1990 and 1992, plus placed second at nationals in 1991. A lightning quick heavyweight with exceptional strength for a 210-215 pounder, he is one of only four wrestlers in EWL history to win 4 individual titles (1988, 90, 91, 92) and three PSAC crowns (90, 91, 92). He was EWL “Wrestler of the Year” in 1990 and 92 and PSAC “Wrestler of the Year” three times (90, 91, 92). He had a Clarion career record 355 dual meet takedowns and had a career dual meet record of 63-4-1. He is also remembered for winning the World Championship in 1995 and Olympic Gold in Atlanta, Georgia in 1996. Kurt still resides in Pittsburgh.

Thought this was a great honor for a great wrestler.

 that would be hillarious but dont think haha.

Great accomplishment I mean if you think of all the Collegate wrestlers who ever wrested and to cut down into such an elite group. I just thought that spoke volumes about his wrestling ability

Well, anyone who's placed at an Olympic event is clearly head and shoulders above the rest.

I wonder if Lesnar made the list, seeing how I think he was a two time NCAA Champion....

It's great that his career with the WWE hasn't tarnished his image in the amateur world either. Props to everyone.

Congrats to Kurt Angle. Someone who is going to WrestleMania should put that on a sign and see if he notices.

Just to Update Everyone, Kurt was chosen as one of the 15, actually along with the other wrestler from Clarion.
