RAW/Smackdown Merger - if it happened what could we see?

i know people may think this is a completely stupid and illogical idea - but hey whats wrong with that.

i just think that if smackdown and raw merged it would improve the matches on every level of the card

if they merged they should have one set of tag team titles, the cruserweight title, either US title or IC title not both at once and prolly i guess the womans title. (Trish = Female Trips)

and also i think they should Keep both the WWE Title and the World Heavyweight Championship

just imagining the possibilties is astounding - the match-ups (angle vs jericho)and the stipulations that could occur (double crown??).

i am expecting this idea to be shunned by all who read it but i think it could be something to make WWE better than its current standard

so let me know what you think and im curious what match-ups and stipulations u would love to see if merger happened (shano for GM)

If they merged 25% of the roster would be fired. Rubbish idea, just keep it how it is now.

Eunos 03-18-2005 11:05 AM

For fucks sake shut up about reuniting the Rosters.

It's getting very annoying.

The rosters are better split.

Disturbed316 03-18-2005 11:30 AM

1 show, two world titles? How the fuck would that work?

Strangely, Triple H would see 25% more TV time.

Wow. Another 50% more time.

Doink 03-18-2005 12:37 PM

i dont like the idea of merging as you will just see the same people sorry person (HHH) on every show, maybe going along with your sort of idea, instread of merging the rosters how about they form a few stables who keep going onto the other show and haing running battles that could climax at ppv's?

So if we take the 50% extra he gets with the additional Title, along with the 25% of the show that he'll replace with the lost talent and also including his current percentage of Raw (65%, would be 75, but there's adds and stuff)
That gives Trips...............135% of Raw and or Smackdown. My he's done well for himself

Nah, a merger wouldn't be beneficial. Sure, it would reunite the entire roster backstage, but like Dave Youell said, perhaps a quarter of the roster would be released. Besides, we always have the yearly post-WrestleMania draft to mix things up a bit and freshen the scene.

SuperSlim 03-18-2005 02:35 PM

leave it as is... simple enough

I just want to point out that at this point the draft is not an annual event. They did it last year and so far this year it is only rumored to be happening.

Oh, btw, I agree to leave the brands split. If the shows were to reunite the Cruiserweights would get even less screen time than they get right now.

Before the roster split every was posting constantly about it happening..after it happens everyones constantly wanting them put back.

:foc:

Tell me about it. This shit is getting STUPID.

Sepholio 03-18-2005 06:28 PM

Yea, the merger will never happen....Well not any time soon, at least.

Personally, with the way Bischoff has been acting on screen lately, I see them pushing forward with the Nitro idea that used to be discussed.

Gouda 03-18-2005 07:05 PM

omg we could see Viscera vs. Heidenreich.

It's been done twice before. Back in 2002 I think it was. When Vince was GM of SmackDown and Flair was GM of RAW.

James Steele 03-18-2005 08:04 PM

The draft in 2002 was the ORIGINAL draft.
There was NO draft of any kind in 2003. (I believe there were trades and jumping ship and stuff like that though.)
The draft in 2004 was simply a midcard switch.

Thanks for backing me up on it, JS.

All you need to do is watch the WWE during the Invasion angle. They had a ton of fresh matches handed to them, and instead of making more stars in order to create even more matches, they just used the same guys on top and ran out of matches in 4 or 6 months.

Same would happen here. HHH and the usual suspects would keep their spots because the merge would give them each 2 or 3 guys they haven't worked with in at least a couple fo years. No new stars would be created, and then 6 max 8 months down the road they'd have no freash matches on the horizon.

The one really good thing about the way things are now is that at least once a year they can shake up the rosters and make new matches. That should be able to happen for the forseeable future.

TerranRich 03-18-2005 10:43 PM

Okay, I took a hiatus from watching wrestling around 2003-04, so I admit I only heard about the draft after WM XX. But I still think it should be a yearly thing, to shake things up a bit.
