Winamp 5

Has anyone checked it out yet?

I just downloaded it, and it is MUCH improved over Winamp 3. It has like, a built in listen-to thing, and a shitload of new features. The interface is much better looking, and yeah, it just kicks ass for the most part.

It combines the best of Winamp 2 and 3.

2 + 3 = 5

Stupid really. :(

FakeLaser 01-11-2004 06:08 PM

It's the media editor or something. It just tells you what you listen to most and crap.

Penner 01-11-2004 09:38 PM

its faster then winamp3 and less unstable

Kane Knight 01-11-2004 09:59 PM

How's it on system resources?

Penner 01-11-2004 10:02 PM

my pc says 14,244 K

No joke.....0%.....it is quite liked for that fact on the winamp forums. I've had it for a month or two....and it's great to run in the background.

road doggy dogg 01-11-2004 10:08 PM

How does it compare to 2.91?

sadio8 01-11-2004 10:11 PM

Yeah how does it compare to 2.91? Cause i am just happy with the version i am using right now which is 2.91. Tis really worth updating cause i don't really need/use all those fancy features and whatnot.

samichna 01-11-2004 10:21 PM

Damn, I have like 2.81.

Gonna download this new one, better rule ass though.

It's just like that if you want it to be. It basically has left the options for you to leave it like it was in 2, but at the same time it runs better and allows you to use the look and feel of Winamp 3 with the usefullness of Winamp 2. I doubt you would see any significant change in it if you left the current skin you have on it. I like it because I now use it to pretty much do everything involving music. I rip my cds to my computer with the exact mp3 names I want and it puts them straight into the library. Plus it has Internet TV stations....something I'm not sure was there in Winamp 2.

Downunder 01-12-2004 05:23 AM

3 sucks arse - I'm getting 5 . :y:

DouglasRaven 01-13-2004 10:28 PM

Don't you have to have like, winamp 5 plus to rip???

Yeah, with a Winamp 2 skin on it's pretty tough to see any difference, aside from taking up slightly more memory than it used to.

Triple A 01-14-2004 05:14 AM

It was using up like 17% of my resources, making my comp go pretty slow and shit.

So I'm back to musicmatch.

Musicmatch did exactly the same for me. :o

But then my PC's pretty old and crap...

Kane Knight 01-14-2004 11:20 AM

Musicmatch totally sucks the life out of my computer. :|

Dragon 01-14-2004 03:50 PM

Yeah, when I used musicmatch for a while it was pretty slow, so I switched back to winamp.

Kenny 01-14-2004 04:45 PM

It's working pretty well for me. I like the new look. I couldn't get my old Winamp to play WMA files... and this one's doing it as well so that's cool.

more or less what I did. I still rip with Musicmatch currently tho.

FakeLaser 01-15-2004 02:23 PM

The media library thing is the coolest part. You play a song and all of this info about the band comes up and crap.

Ian 01-15-2004 02:33 PM

yeah, i may dowload it. avn't had winamp since I got a new comp.

MVP 01-15-2004 05:34 PM

I never tried it. I should because Windows Media Player is shit now.

The Outlaw 01-15-2004 05:49 PM

By the way, if anyone wants the pro version, hit me on msn or a PM or something.
