Highest ever rating for a wrestling TV show?
What company was it for, what show, when and what happened for it to be so highly rated?
|
I think it's Raw I just don't know when and what happened.
So yeah I am not really helping that much. |
Acutally I can help a little check this
http://1softball.com/WBS/WrestlingBookingSheet245.htm That was has of 1999. So it very well could have been broken by now. |
Also this tells you. Just scroll all the way down for the answer

I figured it was "This is your life"
|
A WWE Show in the 80's might hold the record. I'll check later.
|
I think its 8.2 hold on I'll check

11.6 holee shit
|
Yep, told ya. During Mania 3.
|
How does it work again? 1 point equals 400 000 or something? I can't remember how it's turned into real terms. Plus how can we be sure that the WWE didn't make the figure larger than it actually was?
|
Oh yeah and thanks for Undertaker's birthday Savior, that was a nice bonus right there.

Hey WWE "wrestling" marks, take that. Hard.
You'll never see ratings like those again, cyclical business or not. |
Also, I just read this on another site - not sure if it's totally accurate or not, but I do assume so, since the article it was in was a very recent one, and is accurate on other things:
"A ratings point represents 1,096,000 households, or one per cent of the estimated 109.6 million TV homes in the United States. The share is the percentage of in-use televisions tuned to a given show." |
I think I remember reading something about an 11 pointer segment in the Death of WCW, but I don't recall it being in the 80's.
|
Keep in mind that SNME I believe was on NBC at the time, a channel that reaches far more people than USA, SPike, UPN etc...
