Rocky-eque storyline...
 

After watching the first Rocky on AMC, now watching the second, it gave me a perfect idea to introduce someone. Seeing as how WWE loves to push people right out of the gate, why not go with this storyline....

HHH (for intensive purposes he's the champ for now) is ordered to defend the title at the next PPV, lets say Judgement Day. HHH handpicks a guy, with Flair's backing of course, to fight for the PPV. He goes to ROH or some other small indy and finds a wrestler. HHH says that he chooses to defend his World Championship against this guy called Austin Aries.

For the next month HHH "trains" for the fight by doing some color commentary, chilling in the back and whatnot. Meanwhile Aries is working tune up matches in ROH, not on WWE TV but some footage can be shown. HHH brushes off the footage, thinking it'll be a walk in the park. Judgement Day comes, and HHH meets Aries in the ring. What follows is a 25-30 minute war in the ring, as HHH cannot put Aries away. The match can end in a double knockout or HHH getting a roll-up with cheating.

All of the sudden, there is this new guy in WWE who went 25-30 minutes with HHH, and HHH couldn't put him away. BAM, new star.

Discuss.

Sting kinda had the same buildup almost.

That actually would work. It really would. And the thing about this storyline is that it's reuseably.

Unfortunetly, Vince will never ever do it because they opponents aren't "home grown". Still...good idea.

I think that storyline could work but have to careful could get very sugary very quickly and could make the crowd turn on this guy real quick. Again we are the fans who booed Bret Hart and Cheered for Austin and made him a star. Not a bad thing at all but just have to careful, just as they tried to shove Rocky Mavia down our throats would have to be very careful with this guy.

Austin Aries fought last week at this local promotion that I go to, except I couldn't make it to that particular show :mad:

He won the UWA Canadian title too :(

When you do that, please be sure to get an agent and / or a publicist (preferably one who speaks English as a first language, can construct a sentence, and has graduated from high school - as clearly you cannot / have not).
