Multimedia Forum?

I say we need it.

That's all

Funky Fly 03-25-2005 02:04 PM

Take it up with AAAfif

Gouda 03-25-2005 02:45 PM

We have a wrestling video and a wrestling theme thread. That's all that's really needed.

James Steele 03-25-2005 04:13 PM

We need to start a new theme thread since 95% of the files in the theme thread are dead links.

Most of the links in the video thread are dead too. I don't see your point. If someone wants something they request it and it can be re-uploaded.

James Steele 03-25-2005 04:31 PM

Wouldn't it still be a different link though?

Gouda 03-25-2005 05:07 PM

Yes.Yes it would.

Triple A 03-25-2005 05:10 PM

How would it work? Details.

Disturbed316 03-25-2005 05:12 PM

Instead of having the two simple threads already in use, there would be a whole pointless forum for posting the multimedia.

Loose Cannon 03-25-2005 05:52 PM

If Rob Harvey wants a Multimedia Forum, TPWW gets a Multimedia Forum. Simple as that people.

Well, it wouldn't be two threads. It would be a thread for each video/theme.titontron, just like NODQ does it. This way I don't have to go searching through 50 pages to find something.

Let's use a real time example here.

**Kid wakes up

Kid: Man I wish I could see Austin vs Rock at Mania 17 at least one more time before my mom takes the internet away...hmmm, hey how aboutt I try TPWW.

**logs on with natureboycv screen name.

SITUATION 1: NO FORUM

Kid: hmmmm, I don't really feel like looking through 50 pages for a fricken match. I do not know how to use search eathier. Oh well. I'm gonna go play with glass instead

SITUATION 2: FORUM

Kid: Holy Shit, Austin vs Rock right there, 7 threads from the top. I love you TPWW  This is the happiest day of my life.

Wait, what the fuck...the link is broken

-The end.

James Steele 03-25-2005 06:03 PM

Or we could just start a new theme & video thread every month that way its not full of dead links.

Loose Cannon 03-25-2005 06:05 PM

Or you can just trouble me for a glass of shut the hell up.

Now you will go to sleep or I will put you to sleep.

You're in my world now James Steele.

Read the name tag.

Gouda 03-25-2005 06:10 PM

Or if you want something you can:

1st go back a week in posts and look if it has been posted (since the yousendit files stay up for a week only).

2nd if it's not there you request it. If it's a dead link on some other page already that's fine. If someone decides to be nice it'll be uploaded again.

James Steele 03-25-2005 06:39 PM

I have dial-up so I don't bother with the video thread, but LC please don't let me get DENIED. I'LL JOIN THE RIDE! I'LL JOIN THE RIDE!

:shifty:

Hired Hitman 03-25-2005 08:44 PM

Yeah, I agree, it should be 1,000 post limit to get in, all those newbies deleting links, damn annoying.

Bad Company 03-25-2005 09:13 PM

Sounds like a great idea.
I'll moderate it :D

Volchok 03-25-2005 09:22 PM

I agree with Hitman.. if we do have another forum you should only be able to go to it if you have a minimum of 1,000 posts.

TerranRich 03-25-2005 09:34 PM

But...I don't have 1,000 posts and I contribute a great deal to both the video and theme threads. :)

Bad Company 03-25-2005 09:45 PM

Then you'd better get posting :)

Justdisturbed 03-25-2005 10:58 PM

the thing is if u didnt have 1000posts u wouldnt say that personally i dont give a shit this isnt the only place u can get media

Nervous Ferret 03-25-2005 11:01 PM

yeah 1000 posts would be fine. Pretty much becasue of the 320470198610936107 posters that signed up just to get videos and are mad annoying.

Rob 03-26-2005 07:37 AM

Searching through one thread takes bare time. NoDQ and Sledgehammer have forums and they fucking rule.

Danny Electric 03-26-2005 09:24 AM

I love the words 'bare time'.
Safe blood.

The Mackem 03-26-2005 09:40 AM

It would be pretty cool I guess, I've given up on the sticky topic.

You know it.

DaveWadding 03-26-2005 07:15 PM

I think Lara, Funky, and I should moderate proposed forum as we have the most wrestling media. I have 50 Gigs, Lara has about a 120 and FF is somewhere in the middle.

KingofOldSchool 03-26-2005 07:44 PM

I have a lot too.

What's to moderate? Post if you have it and download if you like it and don't have it. Easy as that really. Maybe one person as a mod tops

Hitman84 03-27-2005 06:29 AM

I think a multimedia forum would be great. I have requested the Owen/Bret Cage match from Summerslam 1994 about 5 times I think in the sticky thread, to no avail. There is a link to it in the thread, but it obviously expired like months ago. (so if anyone has this match, can they please post a rapidshare link so I can download? rep for those that do)

Plus I disagree with the 1,000 posts idea - just doesn't seem fair to discriminate against legit wrestling fans, just because they only signed up to the forums very recently.

You need someone to Mod it just incase of spam waves, you know they are gonna happen via some troll, just use the current admins to mod the media forum, no need for more mod IMO, Unless its me then it's a must

If there wasn't some kind of rule this place would turn into the sledgehammer and have to change the address every other week to stop it getting closed down, first and formost this place is for wrestling discussion, there's tonnes ofother places you can get media, i'd find it alot easier if i could do it here though. But we need some regualtions one this first

The Mackem 03-27-2005 07:12 AM

I've got tht match but don't know what links we are/aren't allowed to post nowadays.

Hitman84 03-27-2005 04:27 PM

In the sticky thread there seemed to be more hostility towards YouSendIt links than towards RapisShare ones, so maybe that's the answer.

Another idea could be where people request entrance themes, matches or whole PPVs in the forum, and then we contact each other through PM or e-mail and swap our files privately. This way people can't delete links and everyone can have the music/matches they want.

I do see where you're coming from, I really do, it just seemed a little unfair thats all.

JT 03-27-2005 04:39 PM

Yea, I'm quite fond of the idea of a multimedia thread. I have alot of media I can share, plus it would be easier to just come here for stuff rather than finalproduct.net which has just restarted, and I never tended to post at in the first place.

Also, if Rob never decided to give up his mod position and place as #2 guy around here, the Multimedia Forum would be up by now. >_>

TerranRich 03-27-2005 04:50 PM

I agree, but if that's the only rule, then I'll abide by it... and spam until I reach 1,000 ;)

j/k

weather vane 03-27-2005 04:59 PM

WE NEED A WRESTLING MEDIA FORUM

Funky Fly 03-27-2005 05:33 PM

If we were to do it, we could make it so that there is a "sign up" page in this forum or maybe in Wrestling Q & A where, once you have a certain amount of posts and have been here a certain amount of time, you are granted access by the mods to join. That way, you can't register a username just to suck up our bandwidth and leave.

Funky Fly 03-27-2005 05:38 PM

If we do this, I volunteer my mod services. I believe my track record here speaks for itself. I will propose a system, rules, recommend people for mod spots and stuff sometime soon, run it by Rob Harvey and whoever else is interested in taking this seriously, then present it to Triple A.

I'll get you a link to that match via PM, if you gimme a few.
