A New WM Match????

From prowrestling.com

-- The Hurricane said in a recent interview that there will be a 30-man Battle Royal at this weekend's WrestleMania, featuring 15 RAW wrestlers, and 15 from Smackdown. There is no word on what the winning prize will be.

This would give more guys a chance to be on the card but comes back to the whole, can throw this in but no title matches?

Marcyo 04-01-2005 12:32 PM

Nothing against you Corndad, but that's ridiculous. They would've announced it weeks ago if it had to be on the card.

Marcyo 04-01-2005 12:33 PM

Hurricane was kidding.

Pretty lame joke, if he was.

Corndad 04-01-2005 12:39 PM

I actually think its ridiculous also, just read it and thought id post. I cant really see how they could throw it together either, maybe an April Fools.

Amaroqwolf 04-01-2005 01:19 PM

And Jeff Hardy will come back and win the Battle Royal. <_< >_>

Xero 04-01-2005 01:30 PM

I bet that the winner, Goldberg, will then face the World Heavyweight Champion (Batista) after the main event, ala WrestleMania IX, but this time, it will be a triple threat and Triple H will win within two seconds. :shifty:

Crashnburn 04-01-2005 02:06 PM

Is it just me or is the WM card looking a little thin for a four hour show? And then there are superstars like Booker T who don't even have a match on the card. I wouldn't be suprised if another match got tacked on at the last minute.

Loose Cannon 04-01-2005 02:14 PM

NOT ridiculous at all. This will probably happen. The WWE always throws matches together at the last minute and has these battle royals at Mania.

Gouda 04-01-2005 02:40 PM

30 man GIMMICK BATTLE ROYALE.

KingofOldSchool 04-01-2005 02:45 PM

A Wrestlecrap reunion battle royale.

Nailz will make his infamous return only to be choked out by Vince McMahon on crutches.

The Naitch 04-01-2005 03:28 PM

so what's the prize? #1 Contender for the Women's Title?

Crashnburn 04-01-2005 03:46 PM

a shot at the US/IC title?

Jaton 04-01-2005 03:48 PM

Who cares? It should still be more interesting than Show/Akebono.

KayfabeMan 04-01-2005 04:29 PM

It'd be great if that is indeed the case.

Maybe we can see Booker T do something

It'd also be cool if Matt Hardy made his return for it, and won the fucker.

They get to be destroyed by Triple H the next night on Raw.

Amaroqwolf 04-01-2005 04:44 PM

King of Old School I'd give ya Rep but it won't let me!

The Icon of Elisim 04-01-2005 05:05 PM

Are there even 30 wrestlers who aren't on the card?

There's actually at least 34 wrestlers left on the roster. I restricted the lists to those I knew who were not injured and who I thought had a possibility of being put into the match that was mentioned above.

5) Muhammed Hassan
6) Rhyno
7) Ric Flair
8) Rob Conway
9) Rosie
10) Simon Dean
11) Sylvan Granier
12) Tajiri
13) the Hurricane
14) Tyson Tomko
15) Val Venis
16) Viscera
17) William Regal

2) Billy Kidman
3) Booker T
4) Carlito
5) Charlie Haas
6) Danny Basham
7) Doug Basham

10) Heidenreich
11) Luther Reigns
12) Mark Jindrak
13) Nunzio
14) Orlando Jordan
15) Rene Dupree
16) Scotty 2 Hotty
17) Spike

The Icon of Elisim 04-01-2005 09:42 PM

Yeah, I guess it would be a good match for Heat. But 30 is a lot of guys

SuperSlim 04-01-2005 09:46 PM

it would just be like a second royal rumble... that's all

Supermark101 04-01-2005 09:47 PM

I see Muhammed Hassan winning. Then he starts to brag, and is ROCK BOTTOMED by the ROCK

Aussie Skier 04-01-2005 10:18 PM

Women’s Championship
Christy vs. Trish

Undertaker vs. Randy Orton

Big Show vs. Akebono

30-Man Battle Royal Match
15 Raw superstars
15 Smackdown superstars

Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero

Corndad 04-01-2005 10:31 PM

Wow, so it is an added match, Im suprised by that actually.

If it is True, I think Mercyo should give me some rep for dogin me so much about it to begin with haha

The CyNick 04-02-2005 12:06 AM

I figured they would do this. In fact, I think I called it a little while ago.

I think the guys dont get a cut of the Mania payday if the show is on Heat, so for their sake hopefully its on the actual show.

However, if its going to take time away from some of the good matches on the show, then I say keep it for Heat.

where's Andre the Giant when you need him

I. Don't. Know.

Crashnburn 04-02-2005 09:58 AM

I just checked the WWE Wrestlemania website and so far they have not added the Battle Royal to the card on the website.

To update on the 30 man Battle Royal, which will feature 15 superstars from RAW, and 15 from SmackDown!. At this point, the match is definitely scheduled to happen, but WWE are deliberating whether the match should be on the WrestleMania PPV, or Heat. Right now, the latter seems to be the favored option.

Marcyo 04-02-2005 02:34 PM

:shifty:

Marcyo 04-02-2005 02:35 PM

I still don't get it though. If it DOES get on WM, they should have announced it earlier for bigger buyrates.

I doubt it would really drive up the number that much anyways. Any ideas for the prize for the winner? Maybe a IC/US Title Match down the road?

tucsonspeed6 04-02-2005 02:54 PM

It'll be a "be a midcarder for a week" match. It'll be won by an existing midcarder, who will be given one week as his current role before being sent to Heat or Velocity for the rest of their career to make room for some green hoss that'll make HHH look good.

Shhh! They'll hear you!

Kane Knight 04-02-2005 03:17 PM

I think it's going to be an "immunity battle royal."

In which 30 men will fight to see who will get a great gimmick of immunity, yet completely unused for a year.

Scott Hall was a master of that match.

Kane Knight 04-02-2005 03:45 PM

I thought that was an "Irish Coffee match."

Xero 04-02-2005 03:49 PM

The only reason I can see it being on Heat (storyline wise) is if the winner will get a match later in the night on the PPV. Maybe they will add the winner to the Money in the Bank Ladder Match?

If it's on WrestleMania, maybe they'll get to choose which show they'll be on (if they're planning a draft), or they'll win a shot at their world champion at their brand's next PPV...

Or maybe they're just throwing this in there for the hell of it and the winner gets to mop up after Triple H and Vince... :shifty:

Joe Kerr 04-02-2005 04:18 PM

There isnt any time to do a 30 man battle royal right. it would just be like last years cruiserweight battle royal
