Valuable Sports Cards/Memorabilia You Own

**EDIT: I posted just about cards, but I changed it to Memorabilia too at the end, so post about some good memorabilia you on too.

When I was younger I was a crazy sports card collector. That was my #1 hobby. Mainly baseball and basketball cards. Remember Fleer Ultra? LOL, dunno why I just said that. Anyway, I was just thinking before that I have some cards that would probably be worth a lot now. I used to get "Beckett" magazine, which was basically your monthly card magazine to see how much your cards were worth or whatever. It had all the cards and dated back to like the 60's and shit.

Well anyway, I have all these Michael Jordan cards (some rare ones) and they are probably worth a lot know. I have this one from Fleer Ultra that was worth like $75 Mint Condition 8 years ago. Wonder how much that shit goes for today.

So what valuable or "treasured" sports cards did you/do you own

Others I have:

*Cal Ripken Jr. Rookie Card (pretty shitty condition though) My Fav Card

*Ken Griffey Jr. Rookie Card.

*Don Matingly Rookie Card

*Like 3 Shaq Rookie Cards.

*Have Bonds in his 2nd big league year with Pirates

*Derek Jeter Minor League Card.

A really old Thurman Munson card. Given away by some dude. My most "treasured" one.

Have a lot more, but this is enough

I'll try and take some pics later. Post your shit.

I have some really old Reie Jackson cards. '76, '77....

I have a ton of Shaq rookie cards, but I believe those aren't worth as much because the card craz was in fulll swing and they overproduced a lot of those.

I have McGwire rookie cards, but those are going down like Tara Reid at a G-Unit party.

And because I was such a huge Dodgers fan, I have eight each of the Upper Deck Mike Piazza and Pedro martinez rookie cards (respectively)

On aside note, ever go through all your cards after a few years and wonder why the hell you had invested so much money in guys who ended up being bums? LaPhonse Ellis? Bily Ashley? Brien taylor? And I actually found a Harold Minor card sittting in a riple thick plastic holder that needed screws to close. WTF?!!

Supermark101 04-06-2005 07:43 PM

I have the 85 topps Mark McGwire rookie card. It was worth over $400 in 98, and I saw it sell for way more than that. I was a huge Mcgwire fan, and never wanted to sell it. I should have sold the damm thing. I could buy 10 now for whats I could have gotten.

I've got a Rae Carruth rookie card (that guy that killed his girlfriend). Probably have some other ones that are actually important, but I haven't seen my cards in a long while.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-07-2005 11:31 PM

I had tons of cards, I remember I got an entire box set, I think it was Topps NBA for 1992. I had a shitload, but my fucking basement got flooded from my sister not putting enough shit in the washer machine and it over flowed :| I don't even think my cards got ruined either, they were in a huge plastic container thing. I just think when they were cleaning up the basement they got throw away becuase they just assumed they were ruined. I was pretty big in collecting cards from like 2nd grade til 6th grade so I am sure I would have had some shit worth some big money now

The Outlaw 04-08-2005 07:04 PM

I dunno, he was just naming off all these old ass cards he had, pretty ridiculous considering we would be pritty set if he still had them. :( Doubt we would sell them or anything, but still. :'(

Loose Cannon 04-08-2005 07:16 PM

yea, these are the cards I'm talking about. Mad old. Some of the first sports cards made.

I've got so many old hockey cards. 1000s of them. I know there are some keepers, like Gretzky and Lemieux, but I bet most of them are worthless. I have a couple of autographed baseballs, Seattle Mariners and Torronto Blue Jays. I also have ooddles of hockey pucks from NHL and other league teams.
I'm not 'into' this kind of stuff anymore, but I'll hold on to them.
