dynamite kid ?

hi

sorry if this has been asked before , but i just read that the dynamite kid is in a wheelchair . what happened ?

thanks.

Dave Youell 04-14-2005 06:27 AM

He's been in a wheelchair for years now, lots of hard bumping and steroid abuse probably was his downfall, to be honest i'm not 100% sure what part of his body isn't working right to put him in that state, I would asume his back, but like i said i'm sure.

He's also recently had his leg amputated.

King Jericho 04-14-2005 06:40 AM

Yeh it was the steriod use and the highrisk moves that he just kept doing.

He had some trouble with blacking out and having seizures, which was later found out to be because of his back and legs.

Read his book, 'Pure Dynamite' it's pretty awesome.

Innovator 04-14-2005 11:28 AM

His book is awesome, especially the part where he just dropped someone due to roid rage.

BigDaddyCool 04-14-2005 11:59 AM

Plus there is the part about how either he or Davey Boy messed up Mick Foley's jaw for life giving him a bad close line, and then Mick thanking them for the match.

Then again that was in one of Micks books. Now that I think about it, I'm glad Dynamite is in a wheel chair, he sounds like an asshole.

It was from the Foley dvd I think.

King Jericho 04-14-2005 12:04 PM

A clothesline which, Dynamite, later apologised for and then befriened Foley.

Never seen it, so it must be from the books.

Yeah, that apology really fixed Foley's jaw didn't it. If it was Hardcore Holly or Scott Stiener that did that, there would be no end to the amount of flaming done, but since it was poor helpless Dynamite kid that did it, it is forgivable? That is bullshit.

so do you also hate Chris Benoit for breaking Sabu's neck?

Fignuts 04-14-2005 12:54 PM

BDC is merciless

Big difference between the events. Now I am don't exactly know what the Foley thing is about but it sounds like Dynamite was at fault. In the case od Sabu and Benoit it was Sabu who made the error.

That was Sabu's fault. It is wildy know Beniot is a safe worker, and Sabu likes make dangerous looking landings (and often times gets hurt while doing them).

Especially since they way Foley discribes it, while he isn't angery or anything about it, everyone else who saw the match thought he should be, plus he was still a green rookie and Dynamite should have been looking out for him instead of trying to take him out with a clothesline.

Plus with that story about Dynamite dropping someone during a roid rage doesn't help his case. Sure he can appoligize afterwards, but that doesn't make up for the fact that he permantly injured Foley's jaw. (In the course of rereading Foleys book, he has had a problem of dislocating his jaw really easily and it mostly stems back from that match).

King Jericho 04-14-2005 04:13 PM

Chill out, accidents happen in Wrestling, I'm not defending Dynamite Kid, as I'm a bigger Foley fan than I'll ever be a Dynamite fan, but Foley got clotheslined in the Jaw, which again was apologised about later. If Foley had any problem with it, he would have said something.

And who did Chris Beniot look up to and want to become? Dynamite Kid.

It is widly known that Dynamite Kid was trained to be a amateur and then a professional Wrestler, someone who wrestlered and trained with Stu, Bret Owen and the other Hart family Wrestlers, where as Mick Foleys style is similar to Sabu.

Foley was have been nieve at the time. And apologizing still doesn't really fix Foley's jaw. BTW, I want to continue this here: http://www.tpww.net/forums/showthrea...865#post813865, because this thread should be more about how Dynamite got injured instead of why it is karma.

Yeah, and I don't really care for Chris Beniot. And yes Foley's style was close to Sabu, but these injuries don't compare. At the time Foley didn't have a definative style yet, and was the green work. Beniot and Sabu were both fairly experenced at time, and it is Sabu fault (please not I like Sabu more than I'll ever like Beniot).

KayfabeMan 04-15-2005 02:40 PM

I wouldn't say Foley's 'style' was that close to that of Sabu's.

Both men may have done outrageous spots and such, but:
A) Foley could wrestle a bit more than Sabu can...and
B) Foley, while having little regard for himself, always looked out for opponents - whereas Sabu is pretty much all around careless, and in addition, looks a lot sloppier than Foley does in the ring.
