On Raw last night, saw something that made no sense.

Bob "Sparkplug" Holly vs Lesnar for the title @ Royal Rumble!?!? Since when is Sparkplug Holly a title contender?? That's like having Aldo Montoya or Barry Horowitz challenging for the title.

That first one bothers me. He was never tag champ with that appearance in the "Attitude" era.

Anyway, I was just surprised, I'm not home on Thursday nights to watch SD so I don't really know what goes on there (I stopped reading the SD spoilers like a year ago). I was under the impression that Holly was a jobber/mid-carder, not a title challenger, with all the guys like Benoit, Uncle Eddie, etc, on SmackDown, I was not expecting to hear of Holly getting a serious title shot at a PPV like Royal Rumble.

We're just busting your chops. This has been debated on these boards for a while now, hence the sarcasm.

Holly got dropped on his head by Lesnar and missed a year with a broken neck.

When it was time for his comeback, they played up the revenge angle, saying that Hardcore was coming for Lesnar. When he did show up, they're playing it like Brock is afraid of him (Why? We don't know, either), and now he's getting the Rumble title shot.

Hopefully, it ends with Brock crushing him (making Brock look invincible) and Hardcore dropping back to the midcard and Velocity where he can feud with Bradshaw or somebody else I don't like.
