Real fights between wrestlers backstage...
I remember Curt Henning and Brock got into it with Henning coming out on top. Anyone else got any fights they know about
|
Goldberg tried to start something with Jericho, but then Jericho completly punked him out
|
Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels got into it backstage, didn't they?
and everyone knows about Bret punching Vince in the mouth. Didn't DDP's first pro match have a backstage postscript with his opponent trying to punk him out? |
I would just like to elaborate on D3:16's post since it makes me feel so could when I think about it.
Goldberg and Jericho had a history dating back to WCW. Anyway for whatever reason, Goldberg, like he would in character, started grunting at Jericho and then tried to grab him by the throat. But than ks to Jericho's training he was able to counter into a headlock and he basically wrestled Bill down to the ground and with a headlock in place, in front of the locker room, Jericho chocked Goldberg out. What a story. |
Jericho/Goldberg is the most famous one I have heard. There is also the one about The British Bulldogs and somebody back in the day. Can't remember against whom though.
Also Answer, you need to fix your sig to this: http://img258.echo.cx/img258/671/ortonshitlist3mt.jpg |
Wasn't there a topic about this before with a link to a website with all the info on backstage fights and things?
If anyone knows where it is... ;) |
Of course there was Hardcore Holly and Renee Dupree. I also remember that Hurricane got into a fight backstage with somebody but I can't really remember who was right now. I do remember that it was somebody that was bigger than Hurricane and according to the reports Hurricane whooped him pretty good.

Didn't Brock beat Henning?

His first match, in Baltimore, sometime in the spring of 1992, was a classic, or at least the circumstances surrounding it were. I watched the whole thing, and to be honest, it wasn't at that bad for a beginner. A few minutes later after the match, I saw Dallas, and he was visibly upset. "Hey," I said, putting my arm around him, "it wasn't that bad." I then proceeded to compliment some of his work and helpfully offer hints on how he might improve it. "Thanks, Jackie" he said (he always called me Jackie). "I appreciate it." I felt like I had helped a little, but when I left, his eyes were still red from crying. Later, Steve Austin asked me if I had heard about Dallas and Chip, who had been one of his opponents that night. As it had turned out, Dallas wasn't upset about the match at all - he was upset about the fistfight that had occured in the dressing room afterward. Apparently Firebreaker Chip (part of the little-missed team of the Patriots) had taken exception to some of the match, and being pumped up, got in DDP's face about it. Now, this may have been Page's first match, but he'd been part of the business for five years, and he wasn't about to back down. Somewhere in the arguement, Chip threw a punch and the fight broke out. The scuffle ended when DDP hooked Chip in a front facelock, a simple but effective submission hold that in real life is a finished in any fight. Dallas had to be pulled off Chip, then walked to the dressing room, which is where I consoled him. I don't know, maybe you can't blame Chip (the real-life Curtis Thompson) - after all, the Patriots idea was one of the lowest in the long line of WCW lame ideas (does anyone else remember the Ding Dongs?) Maybe if I'd been given the gimmick of a "fire-breaker". who walked around giving fire tips, I'll may have had a little "Chip" on my shoulder, too. |
Kurt Angle and Eddie Guererro got into it a bit backstage, although it was kinda more Kurt giving Eddie some tough love and wanting him to clear his head. I read that that wrestler Nailz supposedly beat up Mr. McMahhon backstage once. Also Savage and Hogan at the TNA Victory Road pay-per-view got into an argument which led to Savage being punked out and leaving TNA (for a while).

That's how I remember it. |
Rey mysterio and Ultimo got in to a fight[/wish]

HBK did the "Sunny Days" comment. Bret puched his lights out. Heat forever between those two though
Arn and Sid got into a fight in a hotel and Sid stabbed Arn a lot with scissors Sid and Pillman got into a fight in a bar. Pillman won. Sid got pisseed, came back with a squegee (sp) but Pillman left already. Pillman would of kicked his ass again though. Hawk vs Savage: Something happened at a Kid Rock concert where Savage punched Hawk after Hawk extended his hand for a "peace" shake. Savage's girl also got into a fight with Hawks wife. Umm, Nailz vs Vince McMahon: You guys know this one. Nailz choked Vince after arguing about his pay at Survivor Series. Pillman vs New Jack: Something happened here at an ECW show where Pillman was talking about the N.W.A. and New Jack took offense to it and they went at it backstage. The Bruiser Brody Death is a notorious one. Just look that up. There's a lot more, but I'm drawing blanks now. |
Rob can help you out here more. He did a Big Two Part Column, with a bunch of write-ups on a lot of these

There's your link to MOST of the backstage fights between wrestlers. |
Don't forget about Flair sucker punching Foley at RAW about 6 months back.

DDP and Scott Steiner danced once after Steiner made some comment about him in a promo, I believe.

lol, Blackman

There was also the time Rick Rude and Kevin Nash had problems (WWF days for BOTH, somehow, if I'm right), and Nash never ended up appearing to fight Rude at the time and place Rude said he'd be waiting.

Hulk Hogan vs. Harley Race -NEW!
From Race's book. As Race (then NWA) stormed the backstage area at a WWF show at the Municipal Auditorium, the Funk brothers looked stunned. Hogan was staring at the Funks and could see their faces. Before he could turn round, Race slapped him in the ribs. Hogan fell backwards into a chair. Sensing a difficult situation, Hulk joked, "Harley, I thought the first time I saw you in Kansas City you'd have a great big gun." Hogan should be advised not to play 'call my bluff' with Harley Race, as Race shot back with, "I don't have a great big one..." before pulling out a .380-caliber handgun. That's GREAT. |
Damn, that's hardcore.
|
RVD vs. Taz After a match involving RVD and Sabu wound up Taz, he went around the ECW locker room saying he was gonna kick RVD's ass, Sabu's ass, etc. Word got around to Van Dam, who went up to Taz, and said "Pick the hand." Taz replied, "What?" and RVD punched him in the mouth. Taz went on the defensive, saying he didn't want to fight him. (thanks to HB2kBuzzsaw) RVD! RVD! RVD! |
Bradshaw v Steve Blackman, 1999/2000
WWF was in between shows at the local airport, and the wrestlers were waiting by the baggage collection bay and Bradshaw decided to dick about trying to push Blackman onto the moving luggage belt. Blackman turned around unflustered and planted a crescent kick flush on Bradshaw's jaw, knocking him clean out, picked up his bag and walked on. Both shook hands when it was done. (thanks to Steven & Chris) And that my friends, is why Steve Blackman is the fucking man. :y: |
LOL Cresent kick to the jaw

At times like this I wish Foley wasn't a nice guy.. Don't get me wrong, I use to be a huge Flair (Horsemen in general) mark but Foley is God.. Why the fuck would anyone want to punch God?? |
has a wrestler actually ever used their finisher in a real fight with another wrestler
that would be pretty funny |

yeah, usually the finishers would never work in real life, thats' why i wonder.
the pedigree doesn't work in real life unless the guy recieviing it moves his legs up, spear doesn't hurt that much unless you're massive and can run fast, how do you lift an entire person with just one arm around the top of their body (rock bottom) but then there's moves like the ankle lock which can actually work in real life |
imagine hulk hogan hulking up in a real fight after being punched in the face
LOL |

Fellas, fellas, there's already been a thousand "which finisher works best in a real fight?" threads. Let's just stick to the topic at hand.

Actually...two summers ago...Steve Blackman was at my neighbors house for a party and consequently was in my backyard. Real cool guy...I ended up meeting him again at a party later on that summer again. Now that I think about it...I think the Lethal Weapon has been hired to take me out
