WWE has announced that since there were no matches taped in New York for Heat or Velocity, that tonight's Velocity show will feature the Battle Royal dark match which is an exclusive feature on the WrestleMania DVD taped in Los Angeles, won by Booker T. (PWInsider)

Why were there no taped matches in NY?

Because they were strapped for time. They had the SmackDown! tapings at 6 or 7PM (I believe) followed by the RAW tapings. There was just no time. They did the same thing with the first Supershow RAW/SmackDown! double taping. They just had recap shows for Velocity and Heat.

Yeah I remember them doing that. Coach and Grisham were up in the skybox doing Heat while RAW was going on in the background.

But maybe reason to tape Velocity this week. Though I'll probably be getting the WM DVD anyways.
