Spike TV and UFC have announced a new agreement for season two of “The Ultimate Fighter”. Season two is scheduled to premier on Spike TV on Monday 8/22 at 11pm. There are also plans to air six live fight cards in 2005 and 2006, as well as a new one hour, 26 episode series of UFC Highlight moments from past PPVs.

This new deal is Spike’s first move in replacing WWE programming, one of the networks highest rated programs. WWE will be parting ways with Spike in October as they are venturing back to their old channel, USA Network.

Spike has also met with both TNA and a group headed by former WCW agents Kevin Sullivan and JJ Dillon about a potential pro wrestling program. As of this report, there is no word on how far those talks have gotten beyond the meetings.

The Network has not publicly announced plans for what would replace RAW in the Monday evening 9 PM timeslot.

I never knew about this new wrestling promotion??? When did this happen?

I dont think they will be dumb enough to sink any money into a wrestling promotion, its doomed to fail.

They should stick to trying to make UFC huge.

UFC at least can compete with WWE, whereas another wrestling group will get squashed very quickly.

I agree on the new wrestling group being suicide. I mean I don't see how a company expects to fair well when it's brand new and slapped together on Monday Nights from 9-11.

they should just show CSI on monday b/c any new promotion will suck big time. And the UFC is shit now too.
