The Greatest British stand up comedian

Please vote on the poll I'll be setting up shortly. I am, of course, using the comedians who I have actually seen perform. I will no doubt leave some off the list, and for that I apologise in advance. If your favourite isn't on the list, please select 'none of the above - my favourite isn't on this list' and post your choice.

I pick Billy Connolly. Tough for me as I find Ricky Gervais, Peter Kay, Jethro and Lily Savage all hilariously funny. But the Big Yin wins it every time.

Tommy Cooper, but I'm a big fan of Jasper Carrott too.

Ill'd go with Peter Kay.

Drakul 05-06-2005 06:58 PM

I can't decide between Billy Connelly,Peter Kay and Ross Noble.

Hired Hitman 05-06-2005 07:34 PM

I haven't heard most of those.

Bottom Live because of Rik Mayall.

It's a tough choice. I would pick Lee Evans, Jasper Carrott, Bottom Live, Peter Kay and Jack Dee.

Bill Bailey.

Closely followed by Billy Connelly, Eddie Izzard and Rik Mayall/Ade Edmundson.

Buzzkill 05-07-2005 08:54 PM

I have never seen a British standup comic

Ogen 05-08-2005 05:48 PM

Just watched Animals so I'll vote for Gervais as its freshest in my mind

Scarface 05-14-2005 01:53 PM

Lee Evans. Awesome plus I've met him.

Ska-Wars 05-15-2005 11:36 AM

Off that list, Gervais. I'm not into much standup though. I don't understand the hype surrounding Peter Kay, I really don't find the man funny (or his standup anyway).
