Matt Hardy returns to wrestling

It was announced at last night's Manhattan Ring Of Honor show that Matt Hardy would be making his first wrestling appearance with the company at the July 16 show in New Haven, CT. He had been previously scheduled for appearances with other promotions, but ROH billed this as his first post-WWE match on the indy circuit.

No opponent was announced.

ROH also put over its scheduled returns to New York City. The promotion will be at the Supper Club on 6/12, the afternoon of 'One Night Stand,' before returning to The New Yorker Hotel on 7/9.

I actually think Matt Hardy's first wrestling match won't be for RoH...something makes me want to say that he is schedualed for Border City Wrestling...but I am too damn lazy to check to see if I am right. Rep for whoever does it for me.

In Mike Mooneyham's latest column for May 8, an interview was conducted with former WWE star Matt Hardy. In the interview, Hardy reveals that he was planning on proposing to Amy "Lita" Dumas on Valentine's Day before discovering her relationship with Adam "Edge" Copeland.

Hardy also admitted to threatening Copeland over the phone, responds to some rumors regarding his conduct towards him and that Amy's current relationship with Copeland doesn't appear to be steady. He also notes that he would never rule out reuniting with Amy down the road.

I hope Matt Hardy does not think he can go in and wrestle the reserved WWE style way... because that will never get over with ROH fans, imo.

Congrats to Hardy. I remember reading his book and he said with all the knowledge he has now about the wrestling business after years of being with the WWE he said he could have made OMEGA a success. I'm hoping for there is another run for OMEGA.

I'm looking forward to it, but only because I look forward to every Chris Daniels match. Hardy never struke me as incredible ring wise.

Has anyone seen Matt Hardy's "Angelic Diablo" promo. Awesome stuff, and although he repeats over the same lines a few times, you can really feel that this character might be the "it" Hardy needs.

I'm glad to see Hardy's heading to ROH. He and Daniels should puton a good show, and while Hardy isn't mind-blowing wrestling-wise, he's got a lot of passion, and this will be a match to watch.

ROH should also try and get Jeff Hardy in and have a small Hardy Boyz reunion giving Matt & Jeff a short feud with the ROH Tag Team Champions.

I really think Hardy will be able to do something for the industry, and I give him props for not giving up. I personally disagree with the WWE's decision to let Matt Hardy go, and I hope somehow it comes and bites them in the ass.

If Hardy has some ring rust, its best to go in there with Daniels. IMO, Daniels can carry a stick to a 4 star match.
