Dusty out as TNA booker

Dusty Rhodes is out as TNA booker following a meeting in Nashville, TN today. According to one source, Rhodes opted out after being presented with the chance to work as part of a committee to book and format the next TNA PPV, Hard Justice, which would have included several other names with Jeremy Borash, Bill Banks, and Scott D'Amore's name being mentioned. One source close to Rhodes stated that he stepped down but will be remaining with the company as talent and continuing as their on air "Director of Authority."

According to TNA sources, Rhodes' departure wasn't something that caught them off guard or unexpected. TNA's side of the story is that the move was something that had been building for some time and Rhodes was simply moved out of power in favor of the committee.

The move really isn't surprising to anyone who has been following the situation, as Rhodes' power had been cut out from under him more and more in recent weeks with some of his characters and storylines dropped after the Destination X PPV received negative critical response. The feeling of Rhodes' latest appearances at the TNA tapings were that he was someone who was doing what was asked of him, as opposed to someone who was running the show.

Don't let the door hit you on the ass in the way out... TNA doesn't have the kind of money to go around replacing doors.

Too good to be true. Who are they making the Head booker? Russo? Triple H? Jeff Jarrett?

The One 05-10-2005 08:08 PM

They should bring in Nash to book it.

This may indeed be to little to late for TNA. :(

We'll find out who the new head booker is shortly....

when Vince appears on both RAW and IMPACT at the same time.

KayfabeMan 05-11-2005 12:05 AM

Oh wait, RAW doesn't have a shit timeslot.

The One 05-11-2005 12:06 AM

LOL! Like Vince would use himself or any of his family members to appear on TNA broadcasting...hell he would probably just send someone he has no repsect for like Paul Heyman to do it... :D

I was thinking the same thing, and it depends on who they replace him with also. Great news though.
