roflmao Nintendo Revolution Video
http://www.onefed.com/media/NintendoON.wmv
ROFL. I get 2 very different reactions when I watch this. 1. If this is fake, somebody has a LOT of time on their hands. 2. If this is real, are they serious!! Didn't they learn ANYTHING from the virtual boy? IGN reports that it IS NOT real. However, they offer nothing to support the claim. Comments? |
I doubt its real and if it is then I bet its just an accesory.Mario looked crappy and it cut off at mario btw.Although I have seen a video of a first person mario game,it looked kinda basic and everything but it gives a very thin thin possibility the Reveloution thing can be true.
Its not an official thing cos I think it was a project this guy/girl was doing but if some guy can do this as a project then I think nintendo can do it. www.etc.cmu.edu/projects/bvwWorlds/movies/super_mario_live_mpeg1.mpg |
I cant view the footage on the comp im on at this moment but I think I might know what it looks like.
Sadly when you mentioned Virtual Boy I knew what the footage sorta was. Rumours have been going around that the New Nintendo system with have something to do with a Virtual like experience working better on the whole Virtual Boy thing. We will just have to wait untill E3 to know for sure...good thing we dont have a long wait |
The thing that gets me is that it was just announced that the Revolution will play both DVDs and Gamecube games. I'm sure it's been rumored for a long time but that brings up some possible questions. Could be real or someone made it with that rumor in mind, a lot of them I guess, and just happened to get one right. Who knows.
|
I doubt someone would take the time to make a video like that.

According to Gamespot, the Revolution is going to be as small as 3 DVD cases stacked on top of each other, and only slightly longer. Very convincing video though.
Also, 2006 release supposedly. I'm also looking forward to seeing if the PS3 actually has the time to come out with the 360. Otherwise, alot of fan boys will probably jump over. Hopefully we'll see at E3. |
haha, get the fuck out of here. If I wanted to be Cyclops, I would go down to Party City and order the costume.
Anyway, I'm kind of out of the loop in the gaming universe now. When they coming out with the next "big" Nintendo system. Like Nintendo --->Super---->N64---->Gamecube--->? |

Anyway, this looks fake, but don't let that stop the speculation. |
|
So is E3 going to come out on TV or streamed on the internet or something?
|
oh, so Revolution is the next big one?
I was thinking it was one of those "filler" things like this system my brother has where you can play N64 games on it. Dunno the name of it. |
That Mario looks like Luigi wearing Mario's clothes. He's too lanky.

Whether or not that video is fake, the thing with all the castles is really cool. :D

Damn right.

looks horrible, but it'll fit the niche for another cartoon console by nintendo.
|
It's not only got some really bad footage of Mario, but the footage of Samus is also really old, i.e. pre Metroid Prime.

This is an interesting "promo," but it's really too expensive to even think Nintendo would find it feasible to create. VR headset (On a console-based system), motion tracking (Eyes AND movement), built-in surround sound, etc...It's all pretty fanciful. Fanciful, in this case, means FUCKING EXPENSIVE. On top of dated footage, most of which revolved around the DS version of SM64, there's the fucking toaster. The ad is done Nintendo Style, but offers very little in terms of earth shattering visuals or anything that would take a lot of time. |
I don't think I would be very much interested in a console like that, if that is how it is going to be.

PUT ON THE HELMET GONZO

G4 will have reports, as will Gamespot and probably IGN, but I doubt you will actually see alot of real footage. More like people just saying what happened and such. We'll see.
|
Yeah, no doubt there will be video's of E3 stuff, as there always is. Though a Stream would be awesome.

The only streams of E3 you will get are ones where you pay for memberships. I have a Gamespot Complete account and I get to watch streams from most of it. G4 will probably do some recap stuff and maybe clips from after the stuff has aired but I'm not sure about live footage. Maybe though.
|
For the most part, the promo is bullshit. I don't care what anyone says, Nintendo, right now, is NOT stupid enough to release something like this as the Revolution. Maybe as a side thing, as the DS is tooted to be (they say it's not the predecessor to the GBA), or as an add on, but NEVER as a competing console for this, or even the next few generations.
The Mario footage at the end, however, actually looks real. I would believe that to be the next version of Mario. If someone actually did that, I must commend them, it looks exactly like something Nintendo would put out (graphics style-wise). The thing that I don't understand is Mario's size (as someone said, he looks more like Luigi) and the way he runs. It's almost as if they're using a Sonic the Hedgehog animation for it. One thing I did note about it was at one point, when they were showing the headset's features, when they showed the Gamecube, it also showed a crossed out console. I would imagine that, if by some oddball chance that this IS real, that it will be a release later on down the console's life as an alternative system. It's probably all bullshit, but it's actually pretty believable. |
I know it's fake, because you guys seem so damn sure. Whoever made that video has a lot of skill with graphics.
|

But probably. Wouldn't surprise me. |
I don't believe that the video is the real thing, however, I do have to give props to whoever created that video. That video would have taken some serious effort and isn't something that someone would have thrown together in a few hours.
|
Hmm...I haven't read anything about this in EGM or Gamepro about the big N creating a sort of virtural headset of any kind, so I doubt this would be Revolution.
But if this in fact is real, then it might just be something that Nintendo has in mind to release as a Revolution accessory. Notice the "on" logo that kept popping up with every scene change. If it WAS the Revolution, they would've flashed "Revolution" more than they did. Nintendo is known for taking chances, so we'll see. I'm just wondering if Nintendo will finally discover the internet with this new system, whatever it turns out to be. |
It's a fake. The guy that made it stated so. He sayed it was a video against companies putting out a gaming system every 5 years or so. Something like that.

Yeah, there is a ton of info on it in the E3 2005 thread.
