WWE and Mind Control
Okay, I'm "debating" with my cousin about whether he likes who he wants or not. Here are wrestlers he likes:
John Cena Rey Mysterio Randy Orton Batista Here are the ones he hates: JBL CHRISTIAN Ric Flair MNM Eddie G. Tell me.. Mark or Not. And also, do you think that the WWE can change his mind in the future or not? |
Mark....probally but is that a bad thing. Everyone is or has been a mark
|
It is now. Especially if you want to come to a place like TPWW.
|
Mark
|
INDEED
|
*shrug* He's probably being naive, but who cares? Is it such a bad thing that he likes the good guys and doesn't like the bad guys? It's freakin' entertainment. It's like criticizing someone for saying, "I liked Anakin Skywalker until he turned to the dark side." (Yeah, midnight premiere. )

I got a friend that I watch wrestling with, and he's a complete mark. His favorites are the Hardyz, Mysterio, Cena, Styles, and Sabin. He hates Christian, JBL, HHH, Jeff Jarrett. He even told me that he went to a 24 retail store last Monday night to get the Cena CD at midnight.
He's even terrible with predicting. I mentioned to him last week that Lita was probably gonna turn on Kane and join up with Edge, and he was completely shocked that that would happen. The same thing with Eddie and Mysterio. He never thought that one was gonna turn on the other. |
Since WWE markets to marks (it's their mark-et, after all!! ZING!!), there are more marks than you might realize. That's why I HATE...H-A-T-E discussing wrestling with anybody at work. They're all morons.
Marks, I mean. Well, yeah, and the guys at my work, but...yeah... |

It's not mind crontrol, Marks likes Faces and hate Heels, it's been that way since time began
Well except for X-Pac |
what's wrong with being a mark?
Without marks you guys wouldn't have any wrestling industry to hiss and fuss over at "a place like TPWW". lol "a place like TPWW". Yeah the wrestling discussion is really of the highest echelon here |

This from a man with over 4000 posts on 'a place like TPWW' Hi Pot, this is Kettle, your black! |

That's not a bad thing... It's a good thing! |

The majority of you all think you know the industry and have all the answers to it's problems. NONE OF YOU KNOW JACK SHIT! Accept it. I don't either. All I know is what I see on TV. I tried to be one of you guys who discuss shit on here all day critiquing the WWE but what's the point in watching the show then. I LOVE being a mark. I do not have WWE's answers and do not discuss wrestling brilliantly. But neither do ANY of you. Accept the fact that NONE OF US KNOW ANYTHING REALLY ABOUT WRESTLING. And neither do you Youell. You're just a fat guy who wrestles for some garbage fed. |

The 'garbage' Fed i work for draw one of the best average crowds in the UK and you've seen what 3 of the matches from it? Nice work. Secondly if you love being a mark so much why are you posting on a smart mark forum all the time? The majority of you all think you know the industry and have all the answers to it's problems. NONE OF YOU KNOW JACK SHIT! - This is a place for ideas and opinions, you've been around on these boards long enough to know that surely. Normally you seem like a decent down to earth poster, what the hell's got your back up? |
As to original topic, is he a mark? Yes, but fucking have fun with it. I LOVE using my knowledge to "predict" what will happen next in front of marks and having them worship me as the all knowing one. Also, most marks for some reason think SmackDown is live, so when I can literally tell them EXACTLY how every match and segment ends, they think I am a wrestling God...and not in the JBL sort of way. :p
Just have fun with them, and realise that it is cool and to some extent envious that they still love every good guy and hate the bad ones, I mean some of my favorite times as a fan wasn't when I enjoyed good matches and cared about storylines, it was when I cheered the faces and boed the heels simply because of their character. My friend Mark (literally his name) knows all the ins and outs of the business. Hell he trained to be a pro wrestler with me, and somehow he still is so markish it's funny. As soon as someon turns heel he can't remember why on earth he ever liked them. Case and point, he thought Lita was the greatest Diva ever and was the hottest thing on earth, didn't give a shit about the Matt Hardy triangle, but as soon as she turned on Kane he hated that ugly bitch so damn much. It's really kind of funny and enjoyable. |
Also think of it this way, for a mark every match is great because it takes a good guy who they love and a bad guy who they hate and puts them against each other. For Smarks we only get like 20 or so good matches a year. So who is the one to be pittied?
|
I am really only a "smark" on here or during HHH promos/matches. The rest of the time I try and be a mark and enjoy it for what it is.
|
The original posts illustrates how easy it is to push someone.
Most fans will just cheer for the guys who win the most, right now thats Cena and Batista. But if they start losing, I guarantee you those same people who loved them will move on to someone else. |
Nothing's wrong with marks... anyone say there was? They may have, didn't bother to read most of the posts...
|
NO, that's the humor in this, is no one said being a mark was bad, The Avenger just went off the wall for some reason...I don't know or get it.
Also I would like to think that maybe just maybe I know something about it, after all I did it for 3 years...so maybe, just maybe I might know a thing or two about the squared circle. |
