Shelton has as of today spent 213 days as the Intercontinental Champion. He's now surpassed Randy Orton's previous reign of 210 days - and now needs only 52 more days to equal The Rock's 1998 record. Moving past there if he can beat that he'll be the longest reigning champion in the division since Mr. Perfect back in 1990/1991.

Well congrats to him and he is a hell of a performer. But due to either lack of stroyline or the WWE being its retard self. He really has not had any major title defenses. You really think about it the matchs that really made him were all matches were he was not defending i e Mania this year and a few weeks back on Raw vs HBK.

But they Jericho fued is being overshadowed by Jericho's whole " I really dont have to care about wrestling, due to all the other stuff I got going on."

well this was also back when Jericho and SHelton couldn't get along for 5 seconds. now they obviously don't have a beef with each other. So the feud with them is alreayd over.

They didn't forget it, the next night they said they had respect for each other, Jericho told Shelton that he is nobodies bitch and wished him luck in the tournament.

it's cause WWE doesn't focus enough on him. All they did was ive him the IC title and give him a fe matches to show what he could do. They never really got behind him

Sure they got behind hm. He beat Triple H twice in his first two weeks on Raw. He's held the Intercontinental championship for a century and a half. The problem doesn't lie within the WWE not getting behind him. It lies within the fans not getting behind him. Do you hear his pops when he comes out? If not, I wouldn't be surprised, for they are minimal to say the most.

I don't know what it could be. I think the reason I dislike him is because everyone else is SO taken with him, and since I don't get it, I feel like I am outside of the cool circle. :( Damn Shelty for making a kliq I am not a part of...

OK so it's not that big of a deal, but seriously I don't understand why people are giving him the Best Pure Wrestler in the world...or the future of WWE...or even above average IC Title Holder awards.

well yeah they supposrted him back then. they gave him two big wins over Triple H. They gave him the title but what else did they do with him? Nothing.

He held the title for over 200 days and over half the time who woulda remembered it? Nooone.

Taht's cause the focus was all on Triple H and the world title. I mean Triple H.

It's like only recently that there has been any focus on Shelton at all ever since that draft where he beat Triple H.

You can't get behind a person that you hardly see. Now we get behind him bedcause we get to see him some. The fans are startin to support him some because he is showing up on V more.

Before WrestleMania it was like Whose the IC champ? Oh yeah him.

Now we are starting to recognize Shelton as the IC champ.We cared about Orton as the IC champ because he was all over the map. And they made a real big deal about his title run. Shelton they don't give two cents worth about his title run. Just now they care about how pure of an athlete he is. They still hardly ever mention the IC title.

So in time if they keep focusin in on Shelton like they have been then folks can start to get behind him. Until then he is just ggettin short changed.

As uncharismatic as Big Shelts is, i really can't blame the guy. His belt means NOTHING. He rarely defends it against genuine competitors.

For example, as good as the ladder match at mania was, maybe he should've been defending the belt he worked so hard to get in a separate contest against a legitimate rival. Instead he was merely fodder for Edge's push. Its sad.

So yeh, Shelton is going to break records, but it'll be as memorable as Billy Gunn's reign in late 2000
