The Swerve
This past Monday on Raw, Flair turned on Batista. Were any of you surprised by that? I know I was. I really thought Flair was turning, but then when he attacked Batista I was like
Heh, a lot of the people here saw it coming. There will never be an honest to god turn because he's the dirtiest player in the game. If he DID turn, he'd be the cleanest player in the game.
Wasn't at all surprised myself.
I think people were more pissed that he aided in HHH's comeback. Even those who were surprised by the swerved turn.
Nope, I knew he was gonna do that. This is like the 6943794th face turn tease he does. I believed in it back in 2004 (the stuff with Randy Orton), but I saw it coming this time.

Same here. |
I think it was stupid how he was on his knees behind Batista. You'd have to have been nuts to not see that low blow coming.
It was predictable. :|
I didn't see it coming.
Mostly because I'm a sucker who wants Flair to turn face so badly that everytime he teases it I buy it. :nono: I was marking out like crazy when he came out and starting cleaning house and then broke out the strut. Then he had to go and still be heel. :'( |
I stopped buying it back in 1994.
It was predicable as hell, and it still pisses me off.
Hello boys! Tis TPWW's own Dr. Phil!
Well, yes I was slightly surprised by the ending on Raw since I had heard that Ric (my favorite patient) had joined the steroid monkey called Batista. |
Shut up. Your gimmick is terrible.
I can't believe I used to even be in the same level as you 2. WOW!
You confuse me you clever scoundrel!
That's because you suck.
At least there's a reason behind it.
Yeah, it was predictable. You could tell cause he was on his knees. BAHAHAHHAHAA
When I saw flair get on his knees and heard Hunter's music hit, my face went from :) to :(.
My face went from :-| to :-|
I think most people knew flair was going to swerve batista

Yup, it was either gonna be a low blow or a blow job. :shifty: |

When Hunter's music hit my face went from  to :foc:. It was a near perfect and I actually thought they would go through a Monday night without Triple H :( And when I say Triple H, I'm talking about the wrestler, not Hungry Hungry Hippos.
It's just disappointing that week after week, Ric Flair's character has been reduced to that of a sniveling, Hunter sucking, lackey. This was a guy that got over as the cockiest, most arrogant, me-first bastard in the industry. And now it seems as if the writing team just uses him as a tool to try to come up with 'interesting' ways to tell us how much we should all want to see more of Hunter. Where's Hunter? Why don't you miss Hunter more? I can't believe Hunter's not here? Boy Hunter, thank god you're back...you sure are great!
Ric...:nono: |

I still love you. |
I called Flair's low blown down to the MINUTE (11:06). I didn't really expect him to turn, but yeah, once he was on his knees, it was painfully obvious.
Still a good ending, though. |
It sort of surprised me because I wasn't expecting the WWE to TRY and make the storyline for the World Heavyweight Championship as repetitive as possible. What a fool I was.
I would have preferred to have seen Ric turn heel by costing Batista the title to Edge, under the assumption Triple H would return if there was a different World Heavyweight Champion. You could then freshen things up by having Angle come over to RAW, and Triple H getting drafting to SmackDown!. You can then have Christian/Tomko turn face when Edge doesn't give him the Money in the Bank Title Shot, have left-over problems between Batisa and Christian/Tomko). You then have Edge find an ally in Gene Snitsky, when it turns out Snitsky was with Lita the whole time, adding fuel to the Kane vs. Edge feud. Flair can then join with Angle and Jindrak, forming a half-decent heel stable that could make RAW pretty interesting over the next few weeks. So on RAW you have Christian, Batista, Kane Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty as the lead faces, with an ever-present tension between Christian and Batista. Kurt Angle, Ric Flair, Edge, Gene Snitskty & Lita as the lead heel entities. But yeah, looks like we've got Triple H vs. Batista III on the horizon. |

Anyway, I know I was less shocked than annoyed by this as part of HHH's comeback. |

Terrible.

I just said that. I didn't really rep you. |
People who have been watching WWE, and Flair as heel for that matter should not have been shocked in the slightest by MOnday's happenings.
I wasn't shocked by it, I could see it coming, but I was really hoping for Flair to actually turn face that I was pissed off when he low blowed Batista. I taped it (I'm making a homemade best of Raw and Smackdown tape) and watching it again is really obvious, as his arm is dead in line with Batista's schlong.

I love you VJW
