Will any of the ECW wrestlers.....
Get job offers from the WWE after One Night Stand?
For example, I have a feeling that if Rhyno puts on a solid match, they might give him his job back. Mikey Whipwreck is another I could see. Any other opinions? |
They will all get 10 day contracts to job to HHH in a 28-on-1 handicap match, because he'll be pissed off and trying to prove that he can beat Batista.
|
Anyone appearing at the show already has some sort of contract. Whether they get extended or not who knows, I don't think enough people will care about the returning ECW stars that much. Compared to the legacy of many of the WWE main eventer's the ECW alumni will always be looked at as midcarders or worse. It completely sucks but it's true.
|
I'm sure that if they impress the WWE officials, then there is a chance that they could get an offer or some try out matches. Guys like Kid Kash will be looking at this as a chance to get the attention of the WWE.

I think there's still some slots open on Velocity. Does anybody even watch that show?

I have a feeling Kid Kash and Mikey Whipwreck may get offered spots. For some reason I can see the original FBI being brought in as well. Basically anyone under 220lbs or a tag team I can see being offered an extension.
I personally wouldn't mind seeing Justin Credible, Rhyno and Jim Mitchell offered spots as well. |
I really hope Rhyno gets his job back after One Night Stand.
And it would be great to see Tommy Dreamer back too.:y: |

Only thing is i can only see him competing on heat anyway.Apart form the first month or so, after that he will be on heat so whats the point in him coming back?(besides the money) |

I would love to see Rhyno get his job back and given something to do, but I see WWE screwing him over again if they do keep him. How many times have seen Rhyno come as a threat one minute and then be a Velocity/Heat jobber the rest of the time?
I don't want that again, I just want him to be used like he was in ECW is all. |
A sign in the crowd at Raw a couple weeks ago summed it up best, I think:
"ECW SUCKED, GET OVER IT" |
Yeah, ECW is probably the most overrated thing in wrestling history.
|
How is it overrated? I think that word is used too much to be honest. If your going to say it was overrated, atleast say why.
|
I can't speak for FakeRazor, but it terms of wrestling quality (and I'm talking about people like Balls Mahoney and New Jack, not RVD and Jerry Lynn) it was subpar. The production values were also pretty piss poor.
And one thing that always bothered the shit out of me was that their ring was WAY too loud. There'd be a hip toss, and the sound would resonate through the entire arena. But then again, that may have been because their arenas were only like 5 by 5 feet. |
Fair enough, but why exactly then do you watch WWE if your in it to watch WRESTLING? You barely see any of that in the WWE, unless its from the usual wrestlers like shelton/angle..etc. Oh and Chris Benoit. Let me think, wasn't he in ECW?Oh yeah and wasn't Eddie in ECW? Oh yeah and wasn't Rey in ECW? Oh yeah and wasn't Tajiri in ECW?
I never saw ECW, well only a few shows on Bravo that i suddenly remember, but are you saying these guys put on piss poor wrestling matches? I can't believe that for a second....sure though there were probably a few that can't wrestle, like i said, from what i know ECW was about entertainment not neccessarily pure wrestling. |
*SPOILER BELOW* HIGHLIGHT IF YOU HAVE SEEN RAW.
I was really surprised to see Rhyno on Raw last night, considering it was only a month or so ago that he and WWE had a fall-out, leading to Rhyno being fired. I feel the same why as most in that I do want Rhyno back, but actually doing something - even staying in the US Title picture, just not one day being a threat - the next being a velocity jobber. |
Beyond ONS, I couldn't really see them having any use for anyone on the card besides Rhyno, Masato Tanaka, or Sabu.

I think to a degree, we should go along with the title of the show and have ECW stars on our tv for one night only. Anything more than that and they would be overstaying their welcome |
Balls Mahoney is incredible. Watch his matches with RVD

Coming from somebody who never even SAW ECW, I really wish you'd shut the fuck up. |
I personally cannot stand some of the stuff that comes from ECW, but a lot of it is really quite good. RVD, Rhyno, Jerry Lynn, Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Rey Mysterio, Psichosis, etc. are really quite talented. That's what I'm looking forward to at the show. Chris Jericho and Lance Storm going at it without a glass ceiling over their head. Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit giving us a MOTY candidate. Rhyno kicking ass and perhaps having the best moment of his career.
|
I thought ECW was as much about fast-paced "realistic-looking" wrestling as it was about violence and weapons. Aside from like Sid, everyone I ever saw in ECW seemed like they were giving it their all, night in and night out, moreso than WWF/E and/or WCW stars.

I don't see exactly how you can say it was garbage, that sounds more like an opinion to me. |

Of course it's an opinion. Subpar and piss poor, however, are not the same to me. I can get a sandwich from McDonald's or something and think that it's not as good as one I had there before, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a piss poor sandwich. By production values, I mean the actual LOOK and FEEL of the show. Bingo halls and such are piss poor venues. Below sub par. I understand that it was because they didn't have the wallet for it, but that's part of the reason they were subpar. |
