I saw Cinderella Man today.

Wow.

I think this movie is top contender for movie of the year.

If you dont follow boxing history, this movie will keep the suspense coming.

I DEFINETELY recommend it.

Champion of Europa 06-07-2005 12:27 AM

I'm gonna go see it tomorrow. I haven't read anything about this movie or the history behind it.

YOUR Hero 06-07-2005 07:47 AM

There's a lot of 'buzz' about this movie and it's one I want to see.

The Gooch 06-07-2005 08:27 AM

I'm hoping to see it this Friday. It looks great and I love boxing movies.

RoXer 06-07-2005 10:05 AM

So many people have recommended this movie, yet its getting bad reviews.

I'm a big Howard Stern show listener. He and some other members of the show went to see it and had nothing but great things to say about it. Some friends of mine saw it this weekend and say it was amazing.

It had a horrible opening weekend too. Still going to see it soon.

Gouda 06-07-2005 10:57 AM

I was an extra in this movie. I was there the day they taped the whole "You can do it Jimmy!" thing they use in the trailers.

House of Pancakes 06-07-2005 12:43 PM

reviews have been a bit more mixed than i thought, but they've been quite good. it has an 81% on rottentomatoes.

Boondock Saint 06-07-2005 01:09 PM

I liked it. Good stuff.

Fuck that..

Extras get paid like $75 a day to be put in shitty situation.. I'd f'n hate to go through that for such little money..

Movies are down all over the place. I wouldn't put any stock in that.

FakeLaser 06-07-2005 11:37 PM

I saw it tonight and I thought it was excellent.

Perhaps Star Wars?

House of Pancakes 06-08-2005 06:20 AM

i would like to get around to seeing this, but i've grown very sick of the hollywood movie scene.

i'm hoping cinderella man is actually GOOD, rather than re-using a tired formula and short-cutting its way into the academy's lap. "good" movies seem to made for the academy these days instead of being genuinely thoughtful.

But you're a stupid ass, so what you think doesn't really matter.

The Gooch 06-08-2005 08:16 AM

Should one discount a real life situation because it has a Hollywood ending? At least it isn't fictitiously contrived that way in a tired old formula.

The movie industry was hoping Star Wars was going to improve the slumping numbers.(it did not) It's not because of Star Wars that things have fallen off, they've fallen off because of the percieved lack of good movies by the general population. This trend of decline has been going on steadily over the last 3-4 years.

Ninti the Mad 06-08-2005 09:24 PM

Well MAYBE if they lowered their prices instead of raising them, it would help.

Prices are getting ridiculous.

I remember when the movies were six bucks NON-MATINEE.

Londoner 06-08-2005 10:28 PM

Well that's capitalism for you.

Triple A 06-09-2005 01:11 AM

I saw it tonight and I enjoyed it. It was pretty cliché and all, but it was well done. Kept me entertained and in suspenssssse.

Prices will continue to rise while pirates continue to steal movies via bit torrents and peer to peer internet sites.

Jesus Christ! You "remember" when it was $6?

In San Angelo, Texas, it is only $6 on Friday and Saturday nights. Its $4.50 otherwise, and $3 for early bird (before 12). Its always been this way :)

The other theatre that no one likes is even cheaper.

I dont live in a huge town, but we still get all the new movies whenever they are supposed to come out. I've noticed everything outside of this state is incredibly expensive. I heard like in the north-eastern part of US, you guys pay up to $8 for a pack of cigarettes?

Boondock Saint 06-09-2005 02:15 PM

$9.50 here

Boondock Saint 06-09-2005 02:16 PM

$9.50 here, and I go just about every weekend. More during the summer.

Triple A 06-09-2005 03:09 PM

I paid $12 per ticket to see it.

Ninti the Mad 06-09-2005 05:37 PM

San Angelo is a shithole. 8)

YOUR Hero 06-09-2005 06:55 PM

Funny enough, they have lowered the ticket prices here. From $13 to $8.50 (Still to high) what they also did however was eliminate the cheap Tuesdays. Was $6.00 on tuesdays, now its $8.50 across the board.
