The only reason I watch movies anymore is to get like insight on life

I don't watch movies to be entertained anymore and I haven't for a few years, I've realized.

I love movies where the storyline relates to some shit I am going through. I can relate to the movie, first of all, so I immediately like it, and then it gives me insight. Like I can see how the writer would handle the situation or whatever. It is entertaining in its own right.

I can't really explain it but you know what I mean.

SuperSlim 06-17-2005 11:08 AM

I understand.

Watching movies for entertainmental purposes have really lost a sort of appeal. But to see someone else int ehs ame situation that you have to deal with really allows ya firstly to see that you not the only one that may have to deal with it then of course the insight of seein how they may handle it, whether it be the right way or the wrong way.

A movie that can teach a lesson in life is pretty good.

Why try to figure out the insight of a writer. Why not do that with family and friends. Assuming you're not.

SuperSlim 06-17-2005 12:16 PM

well soemtimes it's best to get as many perspectives as you can.

Me, I use family, friends, and whatever else I can find.

Gertner 06-17-2005 12:57 PM

ugh. that's very emo of you.

AareDub 06-17-2005 01:44 PM

Yea, I'm the same way. That's really why I love XXX: State of the Union so much. It remindes me of that time I had to drive off the empire state building in an exploding car while trying to un-handcuff myself from an unconcious stripper.

It's amazing how movies can really capture the essence of life.

The Destroyer 06-17-2005 02:24 PM

Way to suck the joy out of everything.

Champion of Europa 06-17-2005 04:22 PM

I have like no comedies that are like traditional comedies in my DVD collection, because I mostly go with dramas that kind of change my insight on life and the situations I'm in. Like they let me look at my life from another perspective.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind works great for that.

Triple A loves Fucking Åmål because it relates to his want for girls to have lesbian relationships at early ages.

I'm sorry but now that I've seen this post, I can only think of one thing

Your favortie movies are Teen Dramas. Am I right?

The Mask 06-18-2005 12:24 PM

I don't know how you can be like that. I enjoy nearly every film I've ever watched ever, bar a few.

Same here man. :y:

PapaGeorgio 06-19-2005 02:38 PM

I do tend to watch/own a lot more dramas then anything else for the reason Triple A mentioned. But I also watch other movies for entertainment. Recently I have gotten into crappy b-movie low production horror movies. I just find them very entertaining in a way no other film can be.

No. If I watch a shitty movie it feels like an enormous waste of time.

I fucking hate movies.

most of the films I see I hate. there are very few out there that I actually like or enjoy.

The Mask 06-19-2005 08:19 PM

I guess that's like me with music then. 95% of shit i hear makes me want to stab myself in the ears.

SuperSlim 06-19-2005 09:05 PM

I'm the same with music as well

Come on...SotTP is sooooo not AAA's fav movie. It's gotta be Sixteen Candles.

YOUR Hero 06-20-2005 06:11 PM

Shut up, Shadow. I was engaging in a barb with Buzzkill.

Shadow 06-21-2005 01:55 AM

Keep bringing down my rep Trips...IT ONLY MAKES ME STRONGER!

el fregadero 06-21-2005 01:58 AM

What's wrong with Sixteen Candles, Shadow?

Shadow 06-21-2005 12:23 PM

Nothings wrong with it. It's a good movie and all. But I think if Triple A went to go see the Traveling Pants movie...he'd sorta be considered a pedo.

Also...my rep isn't going down. At all.

Shadow 06-21-2005 01:34 PM

Never mind....

Stupid rep people.

Amaroqwolf 06-28-2005 02:44 AM

Heh, I definitly have to say that I know what he's saying so I'm going to say I have to ramble just cause I can and I love movies that have a ton of action. But when you say B-Horror Movies I have to say Maximum Overdrive is the BEST B-Horror mOvie of all TIME!

Peace,

This life and the next,

Amaroqwolf
