WrestleMania: The Movie

Whatever happened to that idea?

I was watchin Rock vs. Austin at XIX  ... *ahem yeah I was watchin that match and Lawler was mentionin it and then I remmebered that I forgot all about it. So was this like a dropped idea or somethin?

Team Sheep 06-17-2005 02:38 PM

Wasn't it that documentary thing that was on the Wrestlemania XX DVD? I'm not sure, could be wrong.

Evolution 06-17-2005 02:40 PM

Strange. I was thinking about this the other day. They had big cameras on tracks around ringside filming and everything didn't they?

Maybe they wanted to use footage from WrestleMania XX as well, but it was delayed in post-ed and it might be released in time to hype up WrestleMania 22 (just a thought)

Gerard 06-17-2005 02:59 PM

As sheep said it was the documentry thing included with mania 20. They originally planned to sell it to a sports channel but that never happened.

Savio 06-17-2005 03:11 PM

It was on the WMXX DVD.....Its good I own it. There were problems with the 2 big matches of the night (Rock vs Stone Cold, Kurt vs Brock) 3 of the 4 could have been paralised (sp?) or dead that day.

SuperSlim 06-17-2005 03:13 PM

oh. is it that thing on disc three? cause I'm watchin WM XX right now

Savio 06-17-2005 03:24 PM

I forget....Anyways WMXIX was the only time Smackdown was the Mainevent at a joint PPV.

Xero 06-17-2005 03:26 PM

Yeah, it's on disc 3. It originally aired I believe a week before WrestleMania on UPN. It's pretty good, I enjoyed it and I will probably watch it tonight. Thanks for the reminder. :y:

2. Brock Lesner v. The Undertaker (for the WWE Heavyweight Title, Unforgiven 2002)
3. Brock Lesner v. The Undertaker (Hell in a Cell for the WWE Heavyweight Title, No Mercy 2002)
4. Kurt Angle v. Chris Benoit (for the WWE Heavyweight Title, Royal Rumble 2003)
5. The Rock v. Hulk Hogan (No Way Out 2003)
6. Brock Lesner v. Kurt Angle (for the WWE Heavyweight Title, Wrestlemania XIX)
7. Brock Lesner v. The Big Show (Stretcher Match for the WWE Heavyweight Title, Judgement Day 2003)

At my count that 7 not 1.

Savio 06-17-2005 03:45 PM

I'm talking about when there were only 4 a year.

The Show Off 06-17-2005 03:48 PM

You said Joint PPV's for a year all of the PPV's were joint PPV's

Savio 06-17-2005 03:59 PM

ok so I mispoke.

Altar of Helmsley 06-17-2005 08:14 PM

Smackdown badly needs to main event summerslam or surivor series

Disturbed316 06-18-2005 10:01 AM

It was the Mania of Wrestlemania thing.

SuperSlim 06-18-2005 10:25 AM

yeah I watched it yesterday... good stuff

Blue Demon 06-18-2005 10:32 AM

I liked it...I thought it was A+

Evolution 06-18-2005 11:16 AM

I remember watching that. Didn't realise that was "The Movie". Am I remembering right by saying *SPOILERS*

Brock was flipping out backstage?

RGWhat316 06-18-2005 02:06 PM

Yeah, I'm pretty sure "The Mania of Wrestlemania" was supposed to be Wrestlemania: The Movie. I say that since the match footage looked more like a movie instead of regular WWE cameras. But that was a really cool special. You got more of the real stories of what was actually going on. I don't believe I remember hearing that Austin was in the hospital the night before until his book came out.

SuperSlim 06-18-2005 03:02 PM

yeah I read it in his book.
