Texas and Baltimore have shit for pitching. That's why they've both fallen off the pace in their divisions. The BoSox have a weak pen but are the most likely to do something big near the deadline to make their team an even bigger favorite.

Texas has no pitching and Baltimore is destined for 3rd place. They've already lost their division lead to Boston.

Your favourite to win the World Series (baseball) as of right now.

... and why.

Me, I say the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Great offence as well as good starting pitching, backed up by great relievers.

Factor that with.... the factor:wtf: (loss for words, thurrrr) they'll be coming out of a weak division and match up very well for an over extended and so far over rated White Sox team.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-27-2005 09:01 PM

I see a rematch from last year - with the same result.

YOUR Hero 06-27-2005 09:01 PM

Plus, they have the rally monkey.

Bad Company 06-27-2005 09:14 PM

Definately the All Blacks, failing that the red sox.

The Miz 06-27-2005 09:16 PM

Texas is a huge ass joke

BCWWF 06-27-2005 09:28 PM

I am thinking the Red Sox too. In the beginning of the year, even with the White Sox winning the division, I thought the Twins had a good chance this year, but now they will be lucky to even make the playoffs. Like Stima, I am going to go with the Red Sox and the Cardinals, but I'm not sure who I have winning yet. Kind of depends on Schilling too I guess.

The Miz 06-27-2005 09:33 PM

Chicago White Sox

They have great lineup balance; an excellent combination of on-base guys, average guys, and power guys. There starting pitching is as good if not better than any other in the league. I don't care what any of you silly Canadians think, Mark Buehrle is the best pitcher in the AL right now. The only thing I can see stopping them is their bullpen and their manager. Guillen makes some bonehead moves sometimes.

YOUR Hero 06-27-2005 09:42 PM

Mark Buerle is great, but so what. The Angels are a far more dangerous line up and their pitching is as good, if not better. I'm including the bullpen.

The Miz 06-27-2005 09:45 PM

I don't have any idea how you can say the Angels have a far more dangerous line up

Vladdy on his own equals the entire lineup the white sox can produce.

Vlad is the fucking impaler.

The Miz 06-27-2005 09:56 PM

Vladimir Guerrero: 11 homers, 37 rbi, 16 walks, 6 stolen bases
The Chicago White Sox: 91 homers, 343 rbi, 208 walks, 80 stolen bases

Nah

Zen v.W.o. 06-27-2005 10:00 PM

Fuck stats. He was injured for some time anyways. Vlad is the man, and will single handedly if need be, take down any team he opposes.

BCWWF 06-27-2005 10:03 PM

Lol, you are kind of digging a hole Zen.

Anyway, I just don't like the White Sox winning it all because I don't think they have playoff pitching. The only pitcher I would count on to win in the playoffs is Buehlre, we'll see what happens though.

Zen v.W.o. 06-27-2005 10:16 PM

I am digging a hole for myself, but I cant back down now.

Bad Company 06-27-2005 10:23 PM

Vlad is the man, I've got your back Zen.

Zen v.W.o. 06-27-2005 10:28 PM

Thank god. :D

BC knows what he's talking about.

RoXer 06-27-2005 10:29 PM

A's or D-Backs because I am biased towards my hometown(s).

YOUR Hero 06-27-2005 10:54 PM

Vlad.

Anderson.

Cochrane.

There's no hope for the opposition.

PureHatred 06-27-2005 11:51 PM

Angels

They have a good, versatile line-up anchored by the best player in the AL (if not all of baseball) Vlad Guerrero.

They're crazy deep. I mean, a lot of their regulars have missed significant time and they haven't lost a step. In fact, that depth probably means they are the most likely team to be able to trade for a quality player around the trade dealine.

Starters are effective, if not great. And the relievers are lights out.

Plus, in a match-up of managers, I'd take Scisocia over Francona any day of the week.

Angels win the AL by beating the Red Sox and then edging the Cards in the WS.

Yeah, gotta agree with that...I'd be surprised if it were a sweep once again, but I think the Red Sox will come out on top in the long run...both the Sox and the Cardinals have complete teams, but the Sox lineup is definately more overpowering, IMO.

weather vane 06-28-2005 12:07 AM

Red Sox will repeat.

Lotus 06-28-2005 12:21 AM

Well my money in Lake Tahoe says the Nationals at 50-1 odds. However, I hope the Braves will win. In actuality, I believe that the Angels will win.

Incredible bet. There's just no way to say no to odds that sweet. Especially in the National League where if the Cards stumble, it's anyone's pennant.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-28-2005 12:54 AM

The bullpen has big the biggest problem for the Red Sox this season but even with Schilling out and bullpen struggles they are still in first place. Plus since they finally did win one I think the pressure will be off them a little bit and that will help them reach the World Series once again. With Schilling back the staff will be pretty damn good, Clement has been pitching out of his mind and it looks like Wells got his groove back after coming back from injury. The bullpen has been up and downs but come playoff time you are figuring atleast Arroyo and probably Wakefield will be in there - both doing pretty well this year (Wakefield has been on a roll as of late) Embree has been a disgrace this season though, he gave up 2 more earned runs tonight to ballon his ERA up to almost 8 (7.7 or something) so before July 31st the Sox might want to address getting a real good lefty in the pen.

I wasn't referring to the argument you were trying to make. The Angels are good. The Miz, however, was making fun of you and you didn't seem to notice. Thats what I was referring to.

Zen v.W.o. 06-28-2005 07:57 AM

It looked more to me like he was countering my remark with a stat sheet suggesting I was off base.

BC was Bad Company btw. Just in case we have our signals crossed here.

The Mackem 06-28-2005 07:58 AM

Texas

toxic rooster 06-28-2005 08:11 AM

That's right, I was gonna take up an interest in baseball. Think I'll be a Cubs fan :-\

MVP 06-28-2005 10:47 AM

Boston, Texas, and Baltimore all have stronger offenses than Anaheim.

Dazz 06-28-2005 10:51 AM

The Twins will win it.

John la Rock 07-03-2005 06:31 PM

Angels are SICKKKKKKKK

Supreme Olajuwon 07-03-2005 07:20 PM

Gotta go with the Cardinals. Probably the best 5 man rotation in the league and certainly they have the best lineup in the NL. The key I think is their bullpen. Tavarez, King, Thompson, and Izzy have all been fantastic so far this year. Plus the fact they've done it without Rolen who is good for 25 and 100 every year means they're only getting deeper and better.

Ruien 07-04-2005 12:44 AM

Chi Town Sox looking good. Damn bangwagon fans piss me off.

ddpBANG 07-04-2005 04:41 AM

Los Angeles/Anaheim vs. San Diego with the Angels winning in 5.

The Gooch 07-04-2005 08:42 AM

All I can say is if the Nationals win I will cry like a little girl.

I'm not sure what is worse the Nationals playing so well now or when the Nordiques left Quebec City and won the Stanley Cup.

Hoping for the Angels, because like Zen and a few other posters, I think Vlad is man. Fuck if he was still with the Nationals organization there'd be no stopping them.

BCWWF 07-05-2005 12:05 PM

How come I can't spread my positive rep to Dazz?

Anyway, now that June is over the Twins will go back to winning their fourth central title

The Miz 07-05-2005 02:33 PM

The AL Central is actually not horrible this year. The NL West is awful. The NL Central kinda sucks too. And the NL East. The NL basically sucks penis
