Well they really got us (contains some Raw Spoliers)

Well Hardy and the WWE sure got us. I must say nicely done :y: you sure taught internet fans a lesson you SOB'S .The Hardy punisher gimmick is back on and I think this shit was a total work....

edit your topic title you newbie

Mike the Metal Ed 07-12-2005 12:30 AM

Might wanna edit the title so that the spoiler isn't ruined before you click on it.

you're right :y:

Mike the Metal Ed 07-12-2005 12:38 AM

I'd still say that's a spoiler, don't mention Matt at all.

Savio 07-12-2005 12:38 AM

Was the whole thing a work then? I remember Edges wife went on his site and alot of people thought it wasn't her and had some proof.

loopydate 07-12-2005 12:41 AM

Maybe "Well, they really got us (RAW Spoilers)"?

BigDaddyCool 07-12-2005 12:42 AM

four little words

angle of the year....

fucking brillant that was. I shit my pants

FearedSanctity 07-12-2005 12:42 AM

Yeah, just cut it to "Well they really got us (Raw Spoliers)"

FearedSanctity 07-12-2005 12:43 AM

Ah, beat to it

Sepholio 07-12-2005 12:44 AM

Do you think it is possible that it was a one-off appearance for Hardy? I can't tell what to think yet.

Either way, I marked out like never before.

Bad Company 07-12-2005 12:56 AM

Yeah, I really fell for it.

James Steele 07-12-2005 12:58 AM

LOL, Having the spoiler in the title then putting (RAW Spoiler) isn't really effective.

den1982 07-12-2005 01:18 AM

all a work good job hardy matt talk st'@ about wwe

Corkscrewed 07-12-2005 01:34 AM

It wasn't all a work.... Lita fucked Edge... Matt makes a fuss... writers latch onto something good.

All good coincidence... unless upcoming news says otherwise.

TerranRich 07-12-2005 01:37 AM

I agree whole-heartedly with Corkscrewed. DId anyone else catch Matt Hardy yelling "I'm still with Ring of Honor! R.O.H.!!!" What have we talking about all this time, people? WWE is fucking with us. US, the smart Internet fans. They're blurring the line between kayfabe and reality. Did you hear Matt call Edge his real name, but not Lita's? I'm telling you, he tried to sound like he was breaking kayfabe, but he slipped up when he called the former love of his life, the girl that broke his heart, by her "stage name."

I hereby call it antikayfabe, like the evil twin of kayfabe. I truly believe we're seeing a new direction for the WWE in terms of storytelling and plot development. If something happens backstage, they no longer try to hide it. They take advantage of it. They use it to their advantage. Why bury knowledge of its existence when you could make millions of dollars off of it?

Also, think about it: If Matt Hardy had gone on his web site after the "tease" and said "Dammit! I hate WWE! Blargh!" then I would agree that the entire thing (cheating, controversy, and all) was a work. Let me run down a list of what I believe is a work and what is real:

REAL: Lita cheated on Matt with Edge
REAL: Matt whines about it on his web site
REAL: WWE realizes the potential of fucking with us.
WORK: WWE releases Matt Hardy
REAL: WWE releases a shitload of talented people (sorry)
WORK: Matt Hardy "teases" an appearance at the wedding (planned)
WORK: Matt Hardy "invades" Raw and is "arrested".

That's what I think went down these past few months, anyway.

Tonight was the first time in a LOOOONG time that the WWE has truly shocked me. No pre-show spoilers, no rumors, only speculation.

Wow.

Kane Knight 07-12-2005 01:40 AM

Yep. It was clearly ALL a work, because this last shit came out.

The same is true of all talent who badmouthed the WWE and vice versa. Paul Bearer, everyone on Austin leaving, Brock Lesnar trying out for the NFL, Hogan's last 90 times leaving the company, Piper getting fired...

It's all a work. Vince is a fucking genius.

TerranRich 07-12-2005 01:43 AM

I edited my above post. I still maintain that it wasn't ALL a work. WWE made it into a work once they realized the power they had. Vince is brilliant.

TerranRich 07-12-2005 01:45 AM

Linda: VINCE! Give me your brain! I WANT IT NOW! I want your brilliance!

;)

Kane Knight 07-12-2005 01:48 AM

I wans't addressing you particularly, Terran.

Splaya 07-12-2005 01:50 AM

Tell you what, this is going to be fued of the year. I watched it again and look at how well the crowd was behind him.

darkpower 07-12-2005 01:55 AM

Well, if the WWE is really fucking around with us, don't you think that we have to stand up and say "we're not falling for it"? I mean, think about it. This might be a way to stick it to the internet fans, and for that, we may need to stick it back to them.

Mr. Obvious 07-12-2005 01:55 AM

All due respect to Vince, you're giving him way too much credit. Seriously now, after the whole thing was leaked and caught on, a 3 years old could have seen the potential behind this feud. Vince just made the obvious move, that's all.

Kane Knight 07-12-2005 01:58 AM

Yeah, but Vince pushed the pudding.

TerranRich 07-12-2005 01:59 AM

Yes, but it's a move that, 5 years ago, Vince would've scoffed at, or even insulted anyone for ever thinking of it. I think he's finally seen the light as to how the Internet can be useful to him.

On a similar note, I truly believe that Brock Lesnar is Vince's way of gauging whether or not he can be successful at starting his OWN Internet controversy or make Internet fans talk himself, as opposed to feeding off of other peoples' controversy and adopting it. I believe Vince is using Brock as a way of seeing if he can be successful at creating his own smart fans.

He's playing the role of Dr. Frankenstein. :p

And darkpower, you kinda have a point, but I'm actually more interested in just lying back and seeing how this all plays out.

And yeah, I know I was giving Vince way too much credit...but still, it's pretty damn cool. ;)

Savio 07-12-2005 02:00 AM

Maybe this was a one time thing.

Evil Vito 07-12-2005 02:09 AM

Yeah.....that was brilliant.....they did a great job of making it look legit (with the mentioning of RoH and everything), the only dead giveaway to internet fans being that Matt called her "Lita", not "Amy".

Still, kudos to WWE.......that's 2 angles now that they've used the Internet for...

Somehow I serously doubt that. Something this big? The WWE could make tons of money off of it. I smell a return, if not next week.

Okay, that's the problem. Once again, Vince wants control. the WWF did WCW THEIR WAY, and it bombed (InVasion is often hyped as one of the biggest disappointments in history). They did Goldberg and the nWo THEIR WAY, and it bombed. They pushed Cena VINCE'S way, and it sucked (Poopoo? Yeah). Vince is a control freak, and I don't know if he can learn from his past follies.

Yeah, so he'd be better off letting the dirt sheets do his work for him. This won't have the same level of hype as Matt returning.

Yeah, this would be the dumbest thing since running with Katie Vick.

TerranRich 07-12-2005 02:13 AM

Sorry KK, I wasn't saying that the Brock-Vince idea of creating their own controversy was cool. I was talking about the Matt situation. I agree that Vince is a control freak and needs to do things his way, which is why he's trying to run the Internet fans HIS way. And it will fail. I forgot to mention that. :p But yeah, poor choice of words in that last post. :)

Are you comparing a Matt Hardy cameo to a necrophelia angle?

Bring back Katie Vick!!!

Lita botched life, so pretty much it IS.

Actually, the Brock thing is cool. But it's also so...Fake...If they're hoping to stir people up, this AIN'T the way to do it. IMO.

I think it's a great way to build up an obvious return, but IF the intent is to leave people hanging, it's going to shock people about as much as an Arab-character being heel.

Mr. JL 07-12-2005 02:26 AM

I think the ROH fans may boo the shit out of Matt now

Fignuts 07-12-2005 02:29 AM

Called it bitches!!!

Shadow 07-12-2005 02:50 AM

Fucking hell this is a work! I'll kill the entire family.

And that ROH mention at the end...he was saying he's going to commit to his ROH dates, that's all.

Ok..next week Jeff shows up. Week after that, Shannon shows up...week after that some random chick they found off the street. That's how this'll work out.

GOD FUCKING DAMN THEM ALL TO HELL!

Someone1001 07-12-2005 02:54 AM

Y'know, this is kind of a scary thought...but what if not all the releases were real? And Hardy leads a bunch of 'fired' wrestlers in revolt against the WWE? They can sit in the crowd and stuff, kinda like what Raven's Flock did way back in WCW. Well, at least I think it's a neat idea.

Fox 07-12-2005 03:02 AM

I think Hardy should stay off WWE TV for a couple of weeks, if not a month, before making his next "appearance." Hell, why not make it during Edge's "Money in the Bank" Title match on a PPV? He said he would make Edge and Lita's lives a living hell - he ought to screw with them at planned and cunning intervals - not every week. That would ruin the whole thing. They should build this thing up until WrestleMania.

This is going to be good.
