Will Hogan accept HBK's challenge?
July 18, 2005

Two weeks ago, Shawn Michaels laid out the Immortal Hulk Hogan with "Sweet Chin Music." Last week he was on Piper's Pit and told Hogan that there was a price to pay for immortality. Then, before laying out a second-straight Hall of Famer in Piper, he challenged Hogan to a one-on-one matchup for SummerSlam. (WATCH NOW) It would be The Legend vs. The Icon. Will Hogan answer his challenge and give the fans "one more match?"

WWE.com has just learned that Edge and Kane will square off in a rematch from last week. This time, however, all outside interference will be eliminated, as both Superstars will compete inside a steel cage.

Plus, the 2005 RAW Diva Search is well underway, and with last week's talent competition, it has been kicked into high gear. Alexis was sent home last week. This week, one more girl gets eliminated.

Also, John Cena vs. Chris Jericho for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam was announced by RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff, who received Cena's FU finisher for his trouble. With his authority challenged in brash fashion, how will Bischoff respond on RAW? And now that the match has been made, will the two Superstars be able to stay apart until SummerSlam, or will their emotions overflow?

Nervous Ferret 07-18-2005 07:21 PM

beat me to it :o

dunno steel cage, I am sure there is some "miraculous" way Matt Hardy will get in.

KingofOldSchool 07-18-2005 07:23 PM

Maybe the lights will go out and Hardy will "appear" in the face.

The Answer 07-18-2005 07:25 PM

Weren't you complaining when I put up the Raw thread at 7 :shifty: ?

Nervous Ferret 07-18-2005 07:27 PM

lol, honestly, the reason I didn't beat you to posting this thread, is becfause I thought the mighty Koos would come and flame me, just like he did The Answer, one week before. But, then you posted...

Nervous Ferret 07-18-2005 07:27 PM

whoa what a coinckydink

KingofOldSchool 07-18-2005 07:31 PM

I was joking.

Since they're going for a shoot kind of thing, I think he's just going to jump the barricade, beat the shit out of security and climb the cage as Edge celebrates his winning. By the time Matt gets into the ring, Kane will be up the ramp, and Matt will lock the cage door shut with a lock and chain. Then he just goes off on Edge until security breaks the lock and cuffs him again.

That's how I see it, anyway.

PureHatred 07-18-2005 07:35 PM

And once again, Cena is an afterthought. Not since Goldberg has the WWE killed someone's heat so quickly.

And Triple H has nothing to do with it!

SuperSlim 07-18-2005 07:37 PM

seems early, but ah well. I forgot if I'm supposed to be hyped for this Raw or not

Anybody Thrilla 07-18-2005 07:44 PM

It's not that early, really. And I would be soooo happy if Hogan just declined the challenge and never set foot in a ring again.

SuperSlim 07-18-2005 07:49 PM

that I can actually agree on you with

vampiro03 07-18-2005 07:50 PM

I wouldn't mind seeing hogan in like a managerial role, kinda like flair

why so he can overshadow them and steal their spotlight?

PureHatred 07-18-2005 07:55 PM

As a manager, what kind of advice would he give:

"OK, brother, here's the plan. First, let him hit you with everything he's got for about 15 minutes. Then, start shaking like you've got the palsy and wandering around the ring. Then, at the last possible second, block a big right hand and point at him. That's right, point...It works every time."

they kind of did that while he was on SmackDown, as well.

Either the WWE doesn't want him to be popular, or they feel that comfortable in his staying power.

darkpower 07-18-2005 07:58 PM

Oh, and just so I get it out there: I'm hoping for some rep tonight. I want a third green nod next to my name tonight, lol.

Nervous Ferret 07-18-2005 07:59 PM

haha, I remeber when I was a youngin', I used to post in the RAW threads just so Joey Radd could rep me. LOL

Gerard 07-18-2005 08:00 PM

"Will hogan accept the challenge?"

Why do i envisage thousands of marks on the edges of their seats not knowing the answer. :shifty:

SuperSlim 07-18-2005 08:01 PM

because you're not suppose to know that Hogan will accept.

:shifty: whoops

The hard part to believe about that is that I've been on this board since 01. I've just started to get up my post count recently. If I posted this often back then, I would've had Kane Knight's post count by now.

Gone Mad 07-18-2005 08:04 PM

Gee, I wonder if a certain Sensai will make an appearance and live for the moment and teach a certain feces and Amy about a twist of fate ???

.... Any more subtle and it be posted on a blog on my popular website for all to see.

Which I am hoping they get rid of Simona tonight. She's the only one I see that makes a half-unwatchable segment into the most wretched POS I've ever witnessed.

Volchok 07-18-2005 08:09 PM

Hogan sucks get over it.. he's riding a gimmick that died 6 years ago, Fans are just to stupid to realize it.

SuperSlim 07-18-2005 08:09 PM

6 years ago? I thought it was longer

I'm sorry. Which Smackdown were you watching? Cena usually opened the show or at least cut a decent sized promo, had at least one more appearance, and then almost always wrestled in the main event. The shows were built around him.

This is just like Benoit's treatment after WM20. He's not used. Out of sight out of mind is the quickest way to kill someone's heat. And then when the crowd turns lukewarm towards him, its his "fault." And Triple h steps in to once again "save the ratings." :nono: :nono:

I hate to sound like the typical paranoid Triple H hater, but there's just no logical reasoning behind the way Cena's being used.

nah I like Simona. She is the "hottest" one methinks. her or elisabeth.

Volchok 07-18-2005 08:15 PM

SuperSlim is right.. it's been dead for 20 years.

I can remember the SmackDown shows centered around a certain storyline that didn't involve Cena, and then Cena comes in, does a promo or something (usually with JBL), and then we never hear about him for the rest of the night unless it was a PPV rundown or something like that.

If you want to push a champion or a soon-to-be champ that much, I would hope you would want to center you're shows around the main event match for your PPVs instead of your midcards. Of course, maybe that would be a double-edged sword, as no one would really like the midcards being put on the back burner like that, but it seemed as if the WWE Title was just nothing to get that excited about, to me, anyway.

SuperSlim 07-18-2005 08:18 PM

Ashley or Elisabeth better win

what. :shifty:

Yeah, she may be hot, but her personallity fucking sucks. She's the only one in that bunch that EVERYONE boos. The others I can at least hear SOME cheers for.

And like Ashely showing off a few wrestling moves or not, I like that she's not afraid to put herself out like that (and gutter minds need not apply here on that last statement, mind you :p ).

Volchok 07-18-2005 08:20 PM

If I see any posing tonight by Hogan i'll be pissed...

vampiro03 07-18-2005 08:21 PM

well him and hbk have the same haircut

SuperSlim 07-18-2005 08:21 PM

he has to. that's his gimmick isn't it?
