Candlebox/Mid 90's Ruled

Remember them and thier song "Far Behind." Good times. I loved that era. I posted this because I'm listening to that song

Did they have another hit?

Loose Cannon 07-22-2005 10:03 PM

oh remember Nada Surf and that "Popular" song? Another one hit wonder one.

And the Crash Test Dummies "MMM MMM MMM" lol, that song ruled

Zen v.W.o. 07-22-2005 10:05 PM

Candlebox had another popular song titled "You". And yes I recall both of the bands you mentioned.
Remember, the presidents of the united states of america, and their tracks "Lump" and "peaches"?

Ahh the mid 90's.

Loose Cannon 07-22-2005 10:10 PM

changed the thread title a little.

yea, the Presidents were great. How about Soul Asylum? I have all their albums. And the Butthole Surfers and Primative Radio Gods. Man, everything is coming back to me.

Let's just name all those mid 90's bands in here.

Remember:

And that "Tell me all your thoughts on God" song?

Watson 07-22-2005 10:16 PM

Yeah the live version of "You" is awesome. "Far Behind" is one of my all-time favorite songs. Love the way it starts.

Zen v.W.o. 07-22-2005 10:16 PM

Indeed. Also, how about Collective Soul, and their hits "December" and "Gel" which was on that Jerky boys album.

That's a good tune. The name of it is "Counting Blue Cars".

Loose Cannon 07-22-2005 10:17 PM

YES. I love "Run" by Collective Soul

Thought of two more

Everclear and I remember Spacehog had a hit called "In the meantime"

I always liked "Where The River Flows", "Shine", and "The World I Know". The video for "The World I Know" is awesome.

Hey Jelously

Loose Cannon 07-22-2005 10:27 PM

oh yep. I just downloaded that "You" song by Candlebox and I remember now.

Loose Cannon 07-22-2005 10:30 PM

oh do you guys remember "Mighty KC" by For Squirrels. I loved that band, but then the lead singer and a couple others died in a car crash after that first album :(

Zen v.W.o. 07-22-2005 10:31 PM

Are we just mentioning the moderately succesful mid 90's bands here? Or stuff from that era, that aren't as popular today? Like Live etc...cuz "Throwing Copper" was a hot album.
The Cranberries also stood out. And I recall hearing that Joan Osborne "what if god was one of us" song often on the radio, on the schoolbus.

Loose Cannon 07-22-2005 10:32 PM

yea, mention all that shit

I have Throwing Copper as well. Awesome album.

Blind Melon is another one to mention

Watson 07-22-2005 10:55 PM

How about Soul Asylum - Runaway Train? Or how 'bout Oasis - Wonderwall or Champagne Supernova? Pretty good songs there.

Watson 07-22-2005 10:58 PM

Yet another great mid-90s song is "Solitude" by Edwin McCain.

RoXer 07-23-2005 12:44 AM

One word...Temple of the Dog. That was early 90's/late 80's though. The one album is way better than Candlebox. And I like Candelbox too.

How about ChumbaWumba :shifty:

RoXer 07-23-2005 12:45 AM

Who sang that song "How Bizzare"?

Watson 07-23-2005 12:51 AM

O.M.C

"Hunger Strike" by Temple Of The Dog is awesome by the way. I love that song (Even though I can't stand Chris Cornell).

Zen v.W.o. 07-23-2005 01:33 AM

Then we should also mention Mad Season, Layne Staley's other band besides AIC. "Wake Up" was an awesome song.

Lotus 07-23-2005 01:52 AM

This thread is making me orgasm.

Watson 07-23-2005 01:53 AM

<-----Huuuge Layne Staley Mark

FakeLaser 07-23-2005 02:35 AM

Yeah Candlebox is the shit.

RP 07-23-2005 06:00 AM

Candlebox was amazing. Cake was good too.

Layne Staley was the God people didnt know. But now more people know about Alice in Chains after he died.

The Destroyer 07-23-2005 07:20 AM

Strange that, I've always heard Candlebox being described as utter crap. Not sure if I've actually heard them though.

Can't go wrong with Failure as far as mid-90s bands go.

It's funny, if you take away Chris Cornell then the remaining members of the band consists of Pearl Jam.

Just John 07-23-2005 01:57 PM

Which is anything but bad
