Christian's Push Over?

Quote:

Credit: PWInsider.com Elite News Hotline

- SmackDown! workers have stated that Christian is very aware that the proverbial rug has been pulled from under him by WWE.

- Christian was said to be very happy a few months back when it seemed WWE would be pushing him as a main-eventer, however his feelings have now changed and while he isn't being a bad employee over it, he is said to be upset at how things have turned out.

- Christian was of course cleanly pinned in his first match on SmackDown! and lost to Booker T at the Great American Bash this past Sunday when the 5-time WCW champion had no momentum going into the match.

- On SmackDown! worker stated that Christian is just "one of them now" after realizing his push is going nowhere.

Let's hope not :(

Just John 07-26-2005 01:00 PM

what the turd!?

Morgan 07-26-2005 01:05 PM

Obviously they didn't hear the "let's go Christian" chants at GAB. Or furthermore any of the pops he gets.

First Hassan's gone and now no push for the captain, that's depressing.

Primetime 07-26-2005 01:15 PM

Man its been a while since i posted, but i like to have a good idea (or at least close to it) before i post.

I was just thinking, what if the workers that are tired of the creative team just decide threaten to ask for their release? Now i really dont know the kind of contracts they have in the WWE, so if someone can educate me, please do. But if they could at any time ask to be released, people like Booker, Christian, Y2J, Benoit, RVD, and pretty much anyone else who is talented (imo) and holds the company togather, but hasn't had a decent legit push in awhile and is tried of it. Imagine if all these superstars just decided to go else where, i realize that some have families to feed, but they could make just as good money else where in Europe and Japan if they are a big name.
Or.........

With this new "trend" of WWE using the internet and bringing up "shoot" type situations (JBL being a bully, released talent, Hardy) why not do a story line of these superstars on both shows going on "strike". Have them "break character" and start off by...does anyone remember when Buff Bagwell did the "not doing the JOB for anyone" where he was supposed to lose but would pin the guy any way thing, back when Russo first started...well anyway start off like that with a guy like Christian or Benoit and then just slowly add members till.....F'N RVD shows up when hes healed and leads the charge in a "Worked Strike". But...then again....that would be too entertaining and make way too much sense.

Xero 07-26-2005 01:20 PM

I had a feeling that he'd be used. He was on a roll and BAM, right back to the midcard.

PullMyFinger 07-26-2005 01:21 PM

It's shit like this which makes me want a competitive wrestling program on Monday nights again :(

What I don't understand is, if this guy is so fucking over no matter how many times he loses, WHY ISNT WWE MAKING USE OF THIS?! HOLY SHIT, VINCE WILL GET$$$$$$$$$$$.

Oh yeah that's right, we'd rather see a Triple H on all the time.

Morgan 07-26-2005 01:28 PM

CHRISTIAN!! CHRISTIAN!!!! AT LAST YOU'RE ON YOUR.... way back to the midcard.

:wavesad:

SuperSlim 07-26-2005 01:32 PM

well it was a good and entertianing ride for the Captain of Charisma

They heard it, but instead of running with it, they're gonna try and kill it.

Someone1001 07-26-2005 01:53 PM

It's a rather conflicting process the WWE has. They figure that stars like Jericho and Christian who are really over don't need the titles to be draws. Then they have someone like Cena, who while over, isn't really championship material. So of course they feel he needs to be at the top. It's almost as if HHH is back there telling Vince to book all the bad wrestlers as champs just so that he can come in and look good when he wins it back. And...argh. I don't know what to think of them anymore. Someone with a lot of money needs to come along and buy out the WWE just so that Vince (and family) don't have control anymore. Heck, I wouldn't even mind if Microsoft were to buy it up for whatever reason. Just get them out of there.

I know...Christian has the potential to be the biggest star since the Rock. However, WWE is preventing a big star from occurring I noticed.

snakeboss 07-26-2005 02:15 PM

Even the commentators commented on the 'Let's Go Christian' chants. But WWE doesn't listen.

PorkSoda 07-26-2005 02:18 PM

This proves that the WWE wants to have upcoming and rising stars.

Someone1001 07-26-2005 02:22 PM

Y'know, I think the reason Christian is as over as he is...is because he's still a goofy character. When E&C were the best team on the brand, it wasn't only because of their wrestling talents. It was because they were genuinely fun characters. I agree wholeheartedly with the Rock comparisons...because Rock was a fun character. The WWE seems to be trying to push Cena into a Rock-like roll, but he doesn't have the same sense of fun in him. Christian does. And that's why the fans have taken to him. (Meanwhile, Edge has gone completely downhill, since he isn't any fun anymore. And has a cheesy finisher)

MVP 07-26-2005 02:23 PM

Depressing

KingofOldSchool 07-26-2005 02:58 PM

I sense a face turn and a feud with OJ on the horizon.

Fox 07-26-2005 03:06 PM

Know what would be cool? A second Radical jump - only this time from the WWE to NWA TNA. I'd have Christian, Rob Van Dam, Shane Helms, and Chris Benoit make the move. Imagine how big of an impact these four guys would have on TNA - especially with them getting a national TV deal in the fall.

snakeboss 07-26-2005 03:08 PM

The WWE 'should' turn Christian Face. He's just so popular. I also want a feud with OJ on the horizon.

SuperSlim 07-26-2005 03:10 PM

then they all job to Jarrett in a 4 on one match up

After RVD "swerves" and joins Jarrett.

Push? What push? I didn't see a push... :shifty:

Poor Jay Reso. You have our support at least... :wavesad:

SuperSlim 07-26-2005 03:13 PM

whoops forgot about one of them swervin and joinin Jarrett. :$

PullMyFinger 07-26-2005 03:13 PM

Turning Christian face is dumb. Have him act the way he is because he's very over right now.

Yeah well they are still probably going to do that.

Christian's push? WHEN? I don't seem to remember it

I know. Probably for the pure purpose of killing off his momentum.

One of us...one of us...one of us....

Fox 07-26-2005 03:55 PM

gooble gobble gooble gobble

Innovator 07-26-2005 04:01 PM

The thing that really irks me (...did I just say irk?) about Christian's burial as of late is how he never got his chance at the top. I'm a huge Benoit mark and it kills me to see him being enhancement to Orlando Jordan, but at least Benoit got his World Title reign and his moment at Wrestlemania XX. Eddie, went from WM semi main event to WM opener, got his chance and he carried Smackdown in early 2004.

Christian never got his chance. Hell at least Booker got a title match against HHH. Christian was getting over with the crowd, he could come out during a abysmal RAW, cut a two minute promo and save the show. He should be main eventing Summerslam against John Cena, instead of losing his opening night clean on Smackdown!, then losing to a guy who's had nothing going for him in a long time in Booker.

Splaya 07-26-2005 04:02 PM

Mark my words right now. They are taking the route of Cena last year with Xtian. As long as Captain Charisma stays cool about this, either a month or two after SS, Xtian will win the US title. They will build him up and then either win the Rumble, or beat someone in a tournament, main event Wrestlemania, and then win the title.

TerranRich 07-26-2005 05:24 PM

One can only hope that is the case and will happen, Splaya.

Ah yes! There IS a God! Hopefully they'll de-push his ass until he winds up on Velocity. It's about time WWE has done something right.

Yeah, that's pretty standard. The WWE doesn't REALLY want success, they want to push their guys to the top of a fake sport. Taker for WWE champion...Screw Stiffler, popular or no.

jindrak 07-26-2005 07:41 PM

FUCK SHIT DAMMIT...

Christian is one of the most (if not the most) entertaining wrestler in the WWE.

Fryza 07-26-2005 07:50 PM

So, did they decide to take Christian's push and give it to JBL or something?

I mean, w00t for Booker, I'm glad they're doing something for him, but now they've put him, Christian, Benoit, etc into a rut.

:'( The WWE writers are fucktards anyway.
