When Wrestlers Return for the Save

Don't you love when like a wrestler has been out for a while and like on of thier pals in getting destroyed and all of a sudden, they come out of nowhere and save the day.

Like remember at Mania 8 when Hogan was getting double teamed by Shango and Justice. Then all of a sudden Warriors music hits and he comes flying out. I remember I was downstairs wrestling with the kids of the people's house I was watching the PPV at. Then my dad screamed my name and was like "LOOK THE WARRIOR" I was like WTF and ran of the stairs like a fuckin jackrabbit. Then I just went nuts.

And when X-pac was about to lose his Euro Title to Ken Shamrock after HBK and Bossman kept helping him. And through the crowd comes a returning HHH, who knees Shamrock in the face as Shamrock had X-pac in the anklelock. Crowd went nuts

And when The Nation had Chyna surrounded in the ring and I think DX was locked in a room, HBK comes flying out and helped her. wait, that happened, right?

List some more if you can think of them.

I know this is prolly not the topic, but I can see where your coming with this. You might have been thinking when Orton PKO'd Taker to set up the SS match :naughty:

In all seriousness though, even though he was not a returning superstar, the night Foley won his first title, Austin coming out and going crazy. Loudest fucking pop ever.

Also, when Kane "burned" Taker at the Rumble and Taker came back in the coffin segment. Where the lightning hit the coffin. Sent Chills down my spine.

When Austin walked out of the company, Vince came out and called out The Rock

:shifty:

Yes..besides Goldberg winning the WCW title in Aug '98, that was probably the loudest pop i've seen and heard. Does anybody have that video or a clip of that??

When Taker returned at Judgement Day during The Rock/Triple H Ironman match.

hmmm returning for the save.....I might have to go with when Edge returned on smackdown I think it was a while back...and posed at the entrance way like Jericho and ran down and started to beat him up....I think that was right...maybe not but him posing like Jericho was pretty good on his return...

And just return wise...

Im a fan of when Triple H returned from his ACL injury....huge pop that night

In a way, Raven's WWE debut was something like this...that was cool.

I can sum my thought on this up in one word.

EUGENE!!!

(He makes me feel like a mark)

He came out to help Tazz in his ppv match against the King. And then he formed an unlikely tag team with the suplex machine, and then he started getting fat and wearing a skirt, and then he was taken off Raw, and then he was fired whilst in the middle of starting a new gimmick.

can you tell I'm a bit bitter

Chavo Classic 08-01-2005 07:54 AM

This could be interpreted as a return because technically he hadn't wrestled for them for a while...

but when Rhyno gored RVD in the middle of his ECW shoot at ONS. He sort of came out of no-where and legitimately made me cry out 'Shit, no!'. It was refreshing to feel like a mark again

Try being Raven. He's even more bitter over that.

Personally, I think the best way to make a return after a long absense is through a out-of-nowhere run-in, often to help a friend or to screw someone. It's more surprising and gives the mentality to viewers to tune in and always watch, because you never know who can show up.

That why I was pretty pissed a couple of years ago when they kept on advertising the return of everyone and his mother.

Innovator 08-01-2005 12:56 PM

Orton's returns getting the best of Taker have been solid

Piper's run in at Wrestlemania XIX

SuperSlim 08-01-2005 01:15 PM
