Official monday night RAW Jan. 19 2004 thread

GOLDBERG VS. STEINER; ONE LAST RAW BEFORE THE RUMBLE! Jan. 19, 2004 Scott Steiner thought he received some good news last week when he found out that he would enter the Royal Rumble and have a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania, if he could survive the challenge of 29 other men. The good news, however, ended right there as it came with some bad news for Steiner … he is next. On RAW, Steiner will meet Goldberg, a man who will also enter the Rumble on Jan. 25. Goldberg is determined to win the Rumble and gain a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania, and is apparently going to try to use Steiner as an example of how serious he is. Will Goldberg’s path to the Rumble meet a bump in the road from Steiner? Watch RAW to find out. Also, last week on RAW, Stone Cold Steve Austin and General Manager Eric Bischoff came to an agreement that Austin would not interfere with Bischoff as long as Bischoff followed the rules. Austin said his job is to make sure that Bischoff does his. Does this mean that Bischoff will now have a plan to run RAW as he sees fit despite the presence of Austin? Find out on RAW! The Road to the Royal Rumble continues as RAW comes to you for the final time before the big event from Green Bay. What other developments for the Rumble will happen? Escape the Rules and find out on RAW at 9/8 CT on Spike TV! |

Because if Triple H couldn't stop Goldberg...surely Test's tag team partner can!
Hey remember towards the end of WCW when Steiner killed off like all of WCW's top guys and then had funerals for them on Nitro. LOL. Magnificent 7 Ruled
RAW WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YEAH
Steiner and Goldberg had an awesome match at Fall Brawl 2000, who wants to bet that this match tonight will not be as good? Anyone? Didn't think so.
That said, this is another example of good booking going into the Rumble. I assume Test will be in the Rumble, so much like with BT and Kane, this will give Goldberg a fued that the fans are familiar with to deal with in the Rumble. The build for HBK-HHH has been really good, hopefully they continue that. We should also get some more stuff with Orton, and if they're smart they will announce that Foley will be at the Rumble (if he actually is going to make an apprearance) instead of going with the suprise approach which does nothing for business, as has been proven this past month. |
I'm looking foward to Steiner vs. Goldberg something about two brawlers going at it always makes me eager to watch an event, I don't really know why. Hopefully tonight they will finally turn Jericho all the way face (rather then just hinting at it) so Jericho when Jericho wins the Rumble the fans will actually cheer his victory rather then having a smatering of boos. Also I'll bet dollars to donuts that there will be a match tonight where the winner gets to be the 30th entrant in the Royal Rumble.
I'm betting that the main event will be crap. As has been before I hope Orton and RVD do some promos, and Jericho makes a full-fledged face turn so fans aren't left to wonder whether to cheer or boo the tweener at the Rumble.
Why isnt this thread sticky yet?
think the kane jericho match will be tonight?
Okay, so the RAW superstars that have already been announced for the Rumble are: Kane, Booker T, Goldberg, Scott Steiner, Christian, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry, and Rico.
Who wants to hazard a guess at the last seven (keep in mind, HBK, HHH, the Dudleys, Flair, and Batista already have matches, plus Tommy Dreamer isn't in it, since Rico beat him to qualify)? How about...rep points all around for whoever gets all seven. For my part, I'm going with Rob Van Dam, Test, Randy Orton, Matt Hardy, Lance Storm, Val Venis, and Steven Richards. |
Test, Steven Richards, Rob Conway, Rene Dupree, Matt Hardy, The Hurricane, Rosey.
Theres my 7 |
Do you think the Goldberg-Steiner match is going to resemble the match between Booker & Buff? Or do you think fans have got the WCW taste out of their mouths?
RVD, Randy Orton, Test, Matt Hardy, Spike Dudley, Val Venis, Lance Storm.
I've got pretty high hopes for Raw tonight despite the Steiner/Goldberg match. I don't really care much for either of them, it's matches like this that make me miss monday night football.
My last 7 entrants guess would be Test, Orton, RVD, Richards, Hurrican, Hardy, Maven Unless Maven really is seriously hurt (not sure if it's been confirmed). If Maven is hurt then I'll take Rosey. |
Damn, should've watied a few minutes and I could've cheated
Tonight could be good, I like the idea of the tournament ending in an over the top rope battle royal |
god that would be great if Hardy won it. Who was that guy behind Booker in the blue shorts, I couldn't see?
The last 7 are RVD, Randy Orton, Test, Hurricane, Rob Conway, Matt Hardy, and Spike.
We were all wrong. :( |
Heh. Anyone catch the "BORING!" sign?
Conway..Thats who it was.
RVD and Booker T against Christian and Matt Hardy first.
No Jericho, that makes for a better chance at his face turn. :D |
