Mobb Deep Joins forces with G-Unit?

http://music.ign.com/articles/636/636264p1.html

Yeah, I know they did a song together, but has Mobb Deep signed up with them and have they been added to G-Unit? Because if they have, I'm going to cry.

Funky Fly 08-05-2005 06:22 PM

Looks like a typical collabo from what I've seen. Nothing special.

Supreme Olajuwon 08-05-2005 06:25 PM

I really really hope not.

SuperSlim 08-05-2005 06:29 PM

M.O.P too

G-Unit got the spot light and just like anything, people get tired of seeing the same shit... G-Unit just had the hustle to keep it going for a long time... I can't front, it's the only crew to come out with solo and colabo albums and none of them flop. My only recollection of anybody doing that was NWA... and even then, DJ Yella's album didn't do so hot...

G-Unit needs they're off-time out of the spotlight and then comeback... If they can do that and still have the same results as they do now, people will repect that even if they don't like them.

The Inc had it's time and left but could never get back what it had, other than Ashanti... she's been able to stay consistant.

I'm still waiting to see what NaS has to say...

Heard MC Burial from Nas, Naitch? I know it doesn't talk about this latest development, but it's directed at 50 nonetheless. But I have yet to hear it, so yeah.

Fuck, I was shocked to hear that 50 used to be part of QB. Crazy shit.

The Naitch 08-07-2005 02:15 AM

Mobb Sheep? But still, Aftermath has 2 more producers to the list.

G-Unit has become the biggest cancer to rap. Used to be Nelly and all of the Dirty South. But G-Unit has even gotten worse than them. Game needs to get out of there, because he (well, along with Mobb and MOP) is legit. Though, we should save our judgment and see how their style sounds under G-Unit. If they keep rapping the same way, I'll still respect and like them. If they change up though, then they can kiss my ass.

WTF are you smoking, son??

Some of the greatest Hip Hop of all time has come from the South.. Not our fault most of it gets played out by mainstream media..

-Ghetto Boyz
-UGK
-Eightball and MGJ
-Three 6
-Goodie Mob
-DJ Screw
-OutmotherfuckingKast
-P.A.
-Jim Crow
-Youngbloodz
-Cunninglyguist
-Eric Sermon
-Killer Mike
-Kingpin Skinny Pimp
-Mystical
-Fiend

etc etc etc

To put this in perspective I think Mobb Deep signing to G Unit is good in the short term because it will give them more exposure especially with hip-hop fans with no sense of history just whats hot at the moment. In the end its going to be bad for them because 50 and the rest of the original G Unit memebers are going to bury them. Kind of like when Aftermath had so many artists on the label like Eve, Busta Rhymes and so on. It feels that the only shit Eve came out with since then was like that sex tape

I'll give you Outkast for sure, Eric Sermon, and Cunninglynguists, and Youngbloodz have 2 good songs (but their newer stuff is pretty weak), and a lot of those other guys I haven't heard enough to tell you one way or another, but the Dirty South also had Cash Money Millionaires (even though I like their early stuff, they started that whole "bling bling" shit), No Limit Soldiers, Ludacris, Lil Jon, Ying Yang Twins, Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Mystical, (yeah, not too fond of his ass) and what not. And those are the dudes that get more radio airplay, well at least around here. I know its different for you since you live in New Orleans, but around here, I don't hear much of the Dirty South you listed. They just play that shit I listed. And that stuff was a cancer to commercial rap, for me at least.

Kris P Lettus 08-08-2005 10:03 PM

You generalize too much..

It's like saying all Hip Hop sucks because you don't like Fiddy Sent or Nelly..

dont forget to add some early Pastor Troy to the list and also KynFolk to the list

Kris P Lettus 08-09-2005 12:18 AM

And Devin The Dude and Haystack and Trick Daddy and....

Yeah, point is, there's hella good Hip Hop from the South..

Lotus 08-09-2005 12:43 AM

Yeah, I guess you're right, Kris P. :y: No point in trying to argue any further.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 08-10-2005 02:01 AM

Are you kidding me? Mobb Deep's shit was sick, I hope they don't get terrible now

Most of the names you just listed rely on the beat to make it a good song rather than the actual rapping. Midwest rap is much worse these days than the Dirty South.

Gertner 08-13-2005 03:41 PM

saw Mobb Deep perform last night at the anger management Tour last night

Pretty amazing

Lotus 08-14-2005 04:00 AM

The beat for "Outta Control" Remix kinda reminds me of someone crying inside, kinda like I did when I found out Mobb Deep signed with G-Unit.

Gertner 08-14-2005 12:20 PM

Good song!

The Naitch 08-15-2005 03:44 AM

nah that song is hott
