King Of Fighters

Second best fighting game series, IMO.

Right below Street Fighter.

YOUR OPINIONS???

What Would Kevin Do? 08-07-2005 04:54 AM

Nah, third, below Guilty Gear and Street FIghter.

Vietnamese Crippler 08-07-2005 07:25 AM

'99 and '00 were the best I think :y:

Batsu 08-07-2005 03:18 PM

I'd put them as the No. 2 as well. SNK's most consistent series.

Speaking of which, though '00/'01 US version is CRAP, if you can find it, definitely pick up KOF '02/'03 for PS2. No editing, all the action.

Jalapeņo 08-07-2005 05:36 PM

IMO, 2001 was the best. I love the CVS-style Ratio System.

Own bitches with my K9999 and K' team.

Jalapeņo 08-07-2005 05:38 PM

I, however, can't stand ANY of SNK's bosses.

Is there like a law somewhere saying that most of their attacks are 5613216851231 hit combos?

Igniz, for instance.

Grant and Geese are the only two I can think of that don't.

lol Omega Rugal.

AareDub 08-07-2005 10:59 PM

No. 1 in my book

Igniz is a piece of SHIT.

That is all.

Funky Fly 08-08-2005 03:45 AM

IMO, the series is better done than Street Fighter in almost every way. Street Fighter is only as popular as it is due to the flashiness of their graphics and a better marketing program.

I am not all that familiar with all the SNK games, but thanks to my brothers' ROMS and actually going to an arcade for the first time in like 5 years, I have come to appreciate SNK games more.

Also, Guilty Gear > KOF > Street Fighter

Also, someone link me to a site where I can but a controller-to-USB port thingy so I can play with a controller. Playstation or SNES preferred.

Jalapeņo 08-08-2005 05:30 PM

Your search - "controller-to-USB port thingy" - did not match any documents.

Sorry Funky. :-\

Why did everyone think Maximum Impact sucked? Besides the stupid storyline (uncharacteristic on SNK's part) I enjoyed it.

Jalapeņo 08-08-2005 10:14 PM

I didn't think it sucked.

I just didn't like it as much as the other KOF games.

I'm a 2D fan.

BTW, Who's gonna get KOF XI?

Jaton 08-12-2005 08:03 PM

Maximum Impact was horrible. I ended up taking it back to Gamestop for a full refund within about 2 days.

Jonster 08-16-2005 11:48 AM

I was in an arcade last Thursday and me and a friend saw a KOF 2002 machine just start up randomly.
I started playing against the computer when I noticed there were still 16 credits in it.
A good time was had.

I didn't like 2001, 2000 was better, and 1999 is almost as good as that.

2003 and 2004 are meant to be coming out on home consoles soon I think. Will be nice.

Jalapeņo 08-16-2005 11:53 AM

2002/2003 is already out.

Jonster 08-16-2005 12:09 PM

Not here.

Jalapeņo 08-17-2005 01:49 AM

Wherehouse has it.

Jalapeņo 08-17-2005 01:50 AM

Ahh, nevermind.

Jonster 08-23-2005 07:45 PM

What's the main difference between 2002 and 2003 then?

Funky Fly 08-23-2005 09:16 PM

I heard 2003 now have one round fights with switching on the fly implemented.

ie. Radically different gameplay.

Jalapeņo 08-24-2005 04:34 AM

I'm not a big fan of tag team matches like that. I.E: Marvel vs. Capcom style.

I prefer the old style of turn taking.

Ah, could be a nice change, but then again could ruin things, may give it a try when it finally comes out anyway.
Still want 2002 to come out (they're coming out seperately for some reason), it's been pushed back from the sounds of things
