Undertaker needs something new..

His so-called mind games are so stale now. It's been the exact same formula since he came back at WMXX. Heel is in the ring either in a match or cutting a promo, lights go out and a bell tolls, and some video comes on with a bunch of bullshit static and has some cute little message. (RKO-RIP) Heel acts scared, bolt of lightning, done.

It's just so boring to even watch now. I never thought I'd long for the days of badass Undertaker.

Cool King 08-12-2005 06:54 PM

Yeah, and I actually think that Taker looks like he can't be bothered anymore.

My favourite Undertaker is the Bad Ass Taker, and I know this will never happen but I would really like it if he returned to RAW as the Bad Ass Taker, because I think that SmackDown! is killing him.

DMI 08-12-2005 06:55 PM

OMG. STFU

its true :$. Really wish he would have gone to Raw

SuperSlim 08-12-2005 07:01 PM

I still miss the ministry days

Crashnburn 08-12-2005 07:07 PM

I thought maybe I was the only one missing the Underbiker. This watered down version of the Undertaker just isn't cutting it for me. I could care less.

Shadow 08-12-2005 07:20 PM

Awww..DMI comes to wrestling...

Anyways...Taker really needs to either switch shows, or actually be at the show he's supposed to be at. It would be nice to actually see him play some real mind games with Orton.

Jaton 08-12-2005 07:22 PM

Yeah, all they do nowadays is show the same recycled lame ass video.

Eunos 08-12-2005 07:29 PM

Undertakers been very Stale since returning.

His Character worked back in Ministry days. But now it just doesnt do the job.

I think i was one of the very few that actually really liked his Biker gimmick.

Jaton 08-12-2005 07:33 PM

When he was the biker, I longed for the deadman to return. Instead I got deadass. Now I long for the biker again.

Mayo 08-12-2005 07:56 PM

I made a thread in casual about this because I was so tired that I didn't realize it wasn't the wrestling forum :$

Jaton 08-12-2005 07:59 PM

Really? I don't visit casual too much.

Jaton 08-12-2005 08:00 PM

I don't know anyone here well enough to discuss things with on a casual level, except for maybe TerranRich.

Mayo 08-12-2005 08:00 PM

LOL thats not why its called casual, its because the topics are of a more casual nature, ie. bullshit.

Jaton 08-12-2005 08:11 PM

No, you misunderstand me. I'm making the point that I usually don't talk much. I don't often have much to say. Hence, why this account has been active for over a year and only has ~300 posts.

Batsu 08-12-2005 08:58 PM

LMAO!

Strangely enough, I'd never thought I'd see the day...people called for the Underbiker again. True, Undertaker does seem a lot less interested than he did back in those days. He really does seem much more the novelty act now. Only thing I disliked about the Undertaker in the "Biker" days is that he would try to retain so much of the "Deadman" era, that it kept people clamoring for him to return in that character. Well, that and all the excessive, "Austin"-like posturing that only really worked when he was a heel atop the SmackDown brand. Had he retained the trenchcoat and that wild look he had at his Judgement Day return all the way through the "Biker" era of '00-04, that would have been cool. Taker really did change his character around....

Right now, I'm on the fence. On one hand, Taker seems like a "special attraction", and his subdued role seems very much fit for this landscape. I don't think the "Quasi-Deadman" is horrible, but perhaps, his "powers" should be used for heeldom. That character just doesnt' work as a face. Undertaker was always cheered in spite of his habits, not because of them.

At least his look maintains the right kind of balance. Some people were upset about him returning as The Deadman only to be the previous Undertaker with more hair...but now, the look is starting to work.

Mr. JL 08-12-2005 09:09 PM

Yes, I agree that the Undertaker needs something new, something like RETIREMENT!

The way I see it, if the writers could be arsed to actually develop this feud into something more than the same thing, it wouldn't matter if Taker himself cared or not. You can't blame airing the exact same Titantron message two weeks in a row on Taker. Even if he doesn't or can't work shows as much, at least be creative about how to have him appear. Hell, it would have been crazy if the lights had gone out, smoke comes out, and when they came back on, Kamala was suddenly hanging in the air off a crucifix or something.

As it was, it looked like Orton had OD'ed on some LSD and was tripping out over some letters.

SuperSlim 08-13-2005 12:08 AM

bring back the burning Undertaker symbol. that thing was cool lookin

Yeah, The Undertaker doesn't do it for me, anymore. I don't mean that in a "he's stale" way, but in a "he's too diluted" way. If they turned him heel and gave him a new generation Ministry, or they actually tried with making him look scary, he would be way better now.

It would have been better if instead of the lame "R-K-O R-I-P" crap, they had the crucifix appear with Taker saying "first time was a broken shoulder, second time..........is death.

That would have actually been chilling to see the crucifix, and know EXACTLY what Taker has planned for Orton, and what he's planning to do once he wins, and that he will embarrass (probably not a strong enough word, but you get the point) Randy Orton by crucifying him, and killing his career as a credible superstar.

It doesn't even feel like they're trying with this watered-down Undertaker.

HEre's the problem.

Mark didn't want to play a role on TV. They let him more or less play himself.

The fans didn't like this: They wanted the REAL Undertaker. Not some dumb redneck called the Undertaker.

They cop out on a return by making him Bikertaker with a new hat. Bring back his old finisher, and make him wear mascara. Still the American Redneck, still has them big soup bones, still fights like a hick.

Fans cheer for him though, because he's got great production. I swear, if I had the kind of budget they use on Taker to make a wrestler, I could turn the worst fucker on this board into one of the most over characters ever.

You can't go back to the Deadman now. They broke with the character, and it no longer fits. But to be fair, the boring shit routine's been a staple of take through his Decade+ of destruction.

MAking Orton look like an even bigger pussy.

Looking at how he spazzes out, I wonder how he RKOed ANYONE.

Pepsi Man 08-13-2005 11:08 AM

Meh, Biker Taker blows. No matter who it is, they keep doing the same thing over and over for a while lately.

Triple H runs down his list of former opponents, Batista talks about how he doesn't like bullies, John Cena has the odds put against him, all the while doing stupid raps, Edge talks about how he was screwed out of a real opportunity for the World Title, Kane is rebuilt up as a monster only to job shortly thereafter when it counts...and Undertaker does the lights out effects. It's modern day WWE.

Jordan 08-13-2005 12:10 PM

I say turn him heel, feud with Batista and take the WWE title.

Marcyo 08-13-2005 12:19 PM

Or turn him back, as Slim said, to the Ministry Undertaker. Or back to the Biker Taker.

Either way sounds good to me.

The Answer 08-13-2005 12:23 PM

Knowing the WWE writers giving him a new hat should do the trick :nono:

Volare 08-13-2005 12:30 PM

Following on Jordan X's Post

my question is this: what is Undertaker going to do as champion and who in the hell could beat him and make it look good instead of someone screwing him of the title?? its seems like no matter what lately, they cant build momentum for whoever has the title, nor can they have someone put over clean. There is always some controversy about a title victory

Jaton 08-13-2005 01:20 PM

And most of it is due to the bullshit that goes on backstage and people not wanting to help make stars out of each other and do the job. They just want to do what's good for themselves and their massive fucking egos. Not what's good for the industry. Fuck, I'm irritated now.

But if they try anything new, they get bitched at too.

I mean, if you do anything other than the tried and true, verbatim, you will get mercilessly assaulted by smarks.

(Same as if you tried to do something new, so why try innovation)

Jaton 08-13-2005 10:56 PM

Some wrestlers are just stale, no matter what character they portray.

SEE: X-Pac.

Your idea of the crucifix was very innovative. But it is shame that the scripts of the WWE are not innovative.

A new Ministry would be totally what they need. Especially with Christian around; he could so make a force (completely un Brood related) to go up against them. Granted, he'd be the face, as Taker is unstoppable anyway, but hey...it's an improvement for UT and a boost for CC.

A new Ministry is a GREAT idea...

...And next month, they can reform DX...

...And what about the nWo?
