We've got a new World Champion, boy!

James Gibson outlasted Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels & CM Punk to become the new ROH World Champion. It makes you wonder if he is indeed signed to a WWE contract. Gibson and Spanky have both said that they will "remain in ROH until they lose all their Championships" so as long as the WWE doesn't call on Jamie Noble, James Gibson could be ROH World Champion for quite a while.

So yeah, did they make the right choice here? Personally I think they did. Samoa Joe is already a title holder and is currently with TNA, not that that really matters. Christopher Daniels is a TNA Champion, and it would probably look bad if the second highest guy in TNA was the highest guy in ROH. That left it between CM Punk and Jamies Nibson. I think they needed to get the belt off Punk.

I'd say the WWE has worked something out with ROH, and Spanky and Gibson will be down there for a while working matches and shit, until they can build a new challenger for Gibson to carry the belt for a while. I'm thinking Jimmy Rave right now.

Anyway. Discuss. James Gibson as ROH World Champion: What do you think? Is he with the WWE, after all? Have they reached an agreement with the WWE? Is Gibson going to play the role of a man torn between WWE and ROH? This could be interesting.

Gibson is expected to report into OVW in 50 days after he finish's his indy dates. He oculd of agreed to work for the next month and a half anyway, it's a good way to get more interest in the company as well, plus it was widely documeneted that ROH were prepared to invest alot of time in Gibson and they were dissapointed to hear when he signed for the WWE again as he had worked every show for them since he became avaiable.

On a side note, good for him, he's an awesome worker

Now lets wait and see what disabled gimmick he'll get when he makes his WWE debut.
