AL & NL Awards.

Ok, 6 weeks left.

Who do you think will and should win.

AL:
MVP
Cy Young
Manager of the Year

NL:
MVP
Cy Young
Manager of the Year

The Miz 08-21-2005 07:29 PM

Who should win:

AL MVP - Rodriguez, New York
Cy Young - Harden, Oakland or Halladay, Toronto; too close to call
Manager - Francona, Boston

NL MVP - Jones, Atlanta
Cy Young - Clemens, Houston
Manager - Robinson, Washington

Who will win:

MVP - Manny
Cy - Garland
Manager - Ozzie

MVP - Lee, maybe Pujols
Cy Young - Clemens
Manager - Cox or La Russa

Garland won't win the Cy Young

The Miz 08-21-2005 08:49 PM

If he has 21-23 wins voters will just look at that. He's barely a top 5 pitcher but people love to look at wins for some reason. Halladay and Harden missed about a month each so they won't have the wins, Santana was very average for a while, I'd be surprised if Buehrle and Garland didn't finish 1-2 in voting, unless one of them collapses over the next 6 weeks

BCWWF 08-21-2005 08:52 PM

Buehrle I wouldn't mind, but I can't see Garland winning it. I would think Buehrle and Halladay will go 1-2 maybe.

What about Rookie of the Year?

MoRcHeEbA 08-22-2005 12:18 AM

it was a so-so movie

MVP 08-22-2005 12:27 AM

AL

MVP: Manny Ramirez
Cy Young: Mark Buehrle
Manager of the Year: Ozzie

NL

MVP: Andruw Jones
Cy Young: Roger Clemens
Manager of the Year: Robinson

I'd go with Derrek Lee for NL MVP, but I really doubt the Cubs will make playoffs, but very likely Atlanta will. I was unsure on both Cy Youngs cause in the AL you got Buehrle, Garland, and Colon racing for the Cy Young, and Zito and Harden are getting real close too. I went with Buehrle cause he's a safe bet, and deserves it more than Garland, and I think the White Sox will beat the Angels in playoffs. NL Cy Young is pretty much a race between Clemens and Carpenter, but Clemens has been dominant all season, and has that sick ERA.

CNM 08-22-2005 01:03 AM

AL:
MVP: David Ortiz, BOS
Cy Young: Mark Buehrle, CWS
Manager of the Year: Ozzie Guillen, CWS
Rookie of the Year: Grady Sizemore, CLE

NL:
MVP: Andruw Jones, ATL
Cy Young: Roger Clemens, HOU
Manager of the Year: Bobby Cox, ATL
Rookie of the Year: Zach Duke, PIT

Yashamaga 08-22-2005 02:20 PM

Sizemore can't possibly be a rookie :wtf:

It seems like he's been around for a while

Yashamaga 08-22-2005 02:22 PM

I want to see who will win the NL Cy mostly. Clemens is the best pitcher in the league but he doesnt have the wins, which Carpenter does (and a great ERA, but of course not close to Clemen's ridiculous numbers) .

The Miz 08-22-2005 03:34 PM

Grady does not qualify, he had 138 at bats last year, if he would've had 9 less he would've qualified. Your choices are Huston Street (the smart choice) Gustavo Chacin, Nick Swisher, Robinson Cano, Dan Johnson, Russ Adams, Joe Mauer, and Tadahito Iguchi

YOUR Hero 08-22-2005 08:42 PM

AL:
MVP - AROD or Manny.
Cy Young - Buerle
Manager of the Year - Pinella

NL:
MVP - Lee
Cy Young - Carpenter
Manager of the Year - Robinson<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Gertner 08-22-2005 09:30 PM

rookie of the year Gustavo Chacin

I still agree, although he hasn't won a game (losses) in 2-3 starts. If that keeps up, he's going to lose it.

BCWWF 08-22-2005 10:09 PM

I'm pretty sure Joe Mauer isn't a rookie

Rain Man 08-23-2005 12:56 AM

AL:
MVP -Manny.
Cy Young -Buehler
Manager of the Year -Mike Scioscia

NL:
MVP - Lee
Cy Young -Roger Clemens
Manager of the Year - Tony La Russa

CNM 08-23-2005 01:21 AM

My bad on the Sizemore ROY thing. I guess I'd go with Street. He's been lights out.

Why do you pick a just above average #3 starter over one of the top 3 closers in MLB?

And Joe Mauer is a rookie. Only 107 AB's last year and dide not spend 45 days witht the team.
