Whut it dew?

I dunno what it is about Paul Wall, but I think he's raw as fuck. He's not the best lyricist or anything, but I like his style.

"Say cheese and show my fronts, more carrots than Bugs Bunny's lunch"

What do you think?

DaveWadding 08-24-2005 01:16 PM

Meh.

Gertner 08-24-2005 01:17 PM

Paul Wall kicks all forms of ass

OssMan 08-24-2005 01:30 PM

I GOT THE INTERNET GOIN NUTZ

Lotus 08-24-2005 06:14 PM

His lyrics are pretty weak but his flow is nice. He's alright. There are definitely much worse rappers out in the commercial game right now. And yeah, he does say "what it do" or "whut it dew" way too much.

el fregadero 08-25-2005 12:48 AM

He is chill with Mike Jones, of course he is going to overuse something. That being said, I like his style.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 08-26-2005 01:45 AM

I dont mind his stuff. Its not like my favorite but his flow is cool. Same with Mike Jones - Mikes Jones rapping his cell# into that song was sick though

If you listen to the album, he raps his number in almost every song. And it's not like he does it creatively, either. It's the same line every time.

"281-330-8004, hit Mike Jones up on the low, cause Mike Jones about to blow"

But somehow, I still don't mind him.

Anybody Thrilla 08-26-2005 12:58 PM

There's a song on Kanye West's new album featuring Paul Wall called "Drive Slow", and it's ill as shit, tbh.

OssMan 08-26-2005 01:03 PM

i got the internet goin nutz. but t-flava's got my back so now im holdin my nutz

5 years behind what? liking Average rappers? Nobody from the South has produced any type of classics.

OutKast, Eightball and MGJ, Ghetto Boyz, Goodie Mob, UGK, T.I., Banner, Scarface, etc etc etc..

:foc:

The Outlaw 08-28-2005 05:04 PM

LOL yeah word Kris P

Kris P Lettus 08-28-2005 05:24 PM

And by 5-10 years behind I mean look at No Limit and Cash Money.. They were huge down here way before they hit big.. Same with OutKast.. Same with this "get crunk" lil Jon shit.. Same with "Screwed"..

So yeah, 5-10 years behind us..

Anybody Thrilla 08-28-2005 05:46 PM

They were huge down there because they started down there. You have to spread out. Of course you're gonna be big in your own area before you get big in other areas.

Kris P Lettus 08-28-2005 05:48 PM

Yeah it just gets old real fast when people over hype shit that already old..

Only one out of that group I would call a classic is Outkast. I like the rest of them, but they didn't produce classic albums. OutKast was a mistake though, they have produced some classics.

Personally I dont think the "Dirty South" can hold a candle to New York but maybe that's just me

Over hype? This whole thread has been people saying that he's not the best, but he's tolerable. That's a terrible hype job if I've ever seen one.

Sorry you live closer to Paul Wall than I do. My B.

Kris P Lettus 08-28-2005 08:51 PM

Ner..

He has been over hyped on MTV and radio along with Mike Jones..

I don't really care, just gets old really quick..

:-\

Anybody Thrilla 08-28-2005 08:56 PM

Well, regardless, he's still tippin' on 44's, so people may as well continue to report it.

Anybody Thrilla 08-28-2005 08:57 PM

I'm sick of the weather myself. That shit's been around forever and it's on the news EVERY FUCKING DAY.

Kris P Lettus 08-29-2005 02:28 AM

Is that supposed to be funny??

Anybody Thrilla 08-29-2005 02:33 AM

I'm really not even sure anymore.

Kris P Lettus 08-29-2005 02:36 AM

You want good Houston shit, listen to this:

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...1.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

Anybody Thrilla 08-29-2005 02:38 AM

Yeah, Devin's the shit. And I'm not just saying that because of that particular album cover.

Lotus 08-29-2005 02:40 AM

Z-Ro is the tightest motherfucker out of Houston. "Mo City Don" is the best freestyle I've ever heard and his song "The Mule" with Devin the Dude and Juvenile is just badass.

Kris P Lettus 08-29-2005 02:43 AM

Anything with Devin The Dude is badass..

Even though his latest album was slacking..

Anybody Thrilla 08-29-2005 02:45 AM

Personally, I think Juvenile is pretty terrible, but I bet Kris P won't agree.

Kris P Lettus 08-29-2005 01:00 PM

Juvy has had some aiight shit..

BG and Lil Wayne are tight though..

RIP Soulja Slim

Anybody Thrilla 08-29-2005 03:51 PM

Lil' Wayne is growing on me, and I haven't listened to a lot of newer BG, but that "I Want It" song is hot to death.

Lotus 08-29-2005 05:34 PM

The Cash Money Millionaires were the shit back in the summer of 1999. They ushered in the "bling-bling" era with their "Bling Bling" song. Unfortunately, that's like one of the very few good "bling-bling" songs.
