Hahahahaha what

So I'm watching Velocity and I guess Doug Basham is now calling himself "The Bash Man."

First Rob "The Conman" Conway, now we have Doug "The Bashman" Basham.

Kane Knight 08-27-2005 11:36 PM

I know, and the only real difference between the gimmicks is the shorts.

SuperSlim 08-27-2005 11:37 PM

everyone is tryin to be like "the Game"

KingofOldSchool 08-27-2005 11:37 PM

And Conway's theme music is better.

KingofOldSchool 08-27-2005 11:39 PM

LOL at one of the announcers on Velocity

*during the Vito match*

Announcer: I think this guy, Brad Taylor, use to be on Home Improvement.

Vito's finisher, even though it's been done in one form or another by about seventy different guys, is sick. And Taylor sold it like he was dead, which makes it look that much better.

Kane Knight 08-27-2005 11:57 PM

"You can see the lingerie pillowfight on wwe.com . I watched it 100-(something) times, and my hand is sore..."

SuperSlim 08-27-2005 11:58 PM

what's Vito's finisher?

Skippord 08-28-2005 12:00 AM

An Impaler DDT

SuperSlim 08-28-2005 12:01 AM

nice

KingofOldSchool 08-28-2005 12:03 AM

Jesus Christ this Burchill guy is fucking huge. I expected him to be a cruiserweight.

Jaton 08-28-2005 12:45 AM

Danny Basham is calling himself the Damaga.

It was funny, he came out for Raw this week, I think it was a dark match. He had a hood over his face and a "who are you?" chant started, he took off the hood and the crowd went dead silent.

Me, too. When I first read about him, I expected a guy of about Paul London's build. But, apparently, this 275-pound freak can hit a standing shooting star press.

Not that we'll ever get to see it, but still...

I'm glad Danny reverted to his Damaja gimmick. Sort of a bizarre way of introducing the character, since he was supposed to be in the Rumble as the Damaja a couple of years ago after winning a berth in OVW.

Josh Mathews is so awesome. It was 127 times, I think. And then William Regal tried to pin Scotty 2 Hotty four times, and Steve Romero said "that was almost as many times as you clicked on the Lingerie Pillow Fight on wwe.com" and Josh Mathews was like "...that was 127 times."

Basham, Birchill and Regal has the awesomeness tonight. Birchill needs to be allowed to flip around and stuff (they gave him some leeway with that knee drop from the top rope), because that will make money. Seriously.

Zing!

Seriously though Conway is a good worker, but he's been given nothing to actually get over with, he hardly does anything with the crowd either, why would anyone give a fuck about him?

Mr. Nerfect 08-28-2005 05:06 AM

Conway had pretty good generic rock music prior to his "Just Look at Me" stuff, and it actually demanded energy from the crowd. Give it back to him, and let him actually work some good matches. Let him win via submission with the Arm Breaker, and have him keep The Ego Trip. He's got talent. Use it.

Dave Youell 08-28-2005 09:27 AM

Right now Conway needs mic time and a feud, I keep hearing that they want to push him, but they seem to be doing fuck all with him.

That's the thing. I feel bad about his current sitch. He's one of those people nobody'll give a fuck aboot.

Yeah, of course they want to push him. The WWE's idea of a push is pretty clear. Look at MAsters (Limited response), Edge and Lita (Boring chants), the Diva Search (Boring again), Randy Orton (Punked by Taker, then wins with his DAD's help), Batista (Give the guy mic time, turn his pops into boos).

I think we're better off if they DON'T try and push him. He might even succeed if they leave him alone.

Just John 08-28-2005 11:56 AM

You could say that about anyone though its like its not worth pushing anyone

Really. You don't say?

Thanks for getting at what I was implying.

It's not worth pushing anyone, because when they try and forcefeed us someone, we don't react. When they listen to us, they end up killing 'em.

Just John 08-28-2005 12:13 PM

It would never happen but it would be kinda cool if they swapped everyone around so Cena, Batista and other main eventers job on velocity and people like Rob Conway, Nunzio get into the main event scene for a couple of months.

Volare 08-28-2005 04:08 PM

i can hear the crickets chirping now

Oh, you mean the guy who was just signed up to be a watered down jobber. Yeah, let's celebrate his newfound WWE moveset, and likely Heat status.

Hardkore Kidd J 08-29-2005 02:14 PM

That clip is the first clip to which I have screamed "Oh my god" too. Man that move looked sick.:y: And that part where he lifted both guys on to hs shoulders for that one move call me old fashioned but that looked preety sick too now If Only WWE could let him do moves like that.

Afterlife 08-30-2005 05:14 AM

lol, O.K., at first, Burchill bored me. That made him cool.

Chavo Classic 08-30-2005 08:07 AM

Burchill is the future. He's British too. That's where I'm from. So proud :D

Kane Knight 08-30-2005 12:11 PM

I'd be proud if someone from my area made it to velocity/heat.

Oh wait, S2H counts.

So locally, I've got a hasbeen, and locally, you've got a never-will-be. ;)

I'm sorry, but anyone who expects him to get on with this "high flying" shit needs to look at the WWE and stop being so naive. You might as well expect Ultimo Dragon to pull out all the stops, or CM punk to be able to hear, or Nick Dinsmore to get over on his own talent.
