Mooonsault banned in WWE?

When did this happen? I don't remember the moonsault being banned.

----------------------------------------
From Wrestlezone.com:

Matt Hardy did a moonsault on RAW last night which is a 'banned' move. For those wondering, only management can tell the guys to do it so it's not entirely banned, they just need to have 'permission' which is rare. And yes, before we get tons of crazy emails, neither Edge or Hardy was injured last night.

But they put collars on them!

Kane Knight 08-30-2005 07:39 PM

Seriously though, I thought it was the 450 that was banned.

Watson 08-30-2005 07:41 PM

Edge was crying for God's sake!!!

Meh, the way it's going, wrestling news sites have to either exaggerate or make shit up just to get anyone to talk about them.

wwe.com being so up front for a minute or two a few weeks back didn't help wrestling news sites either.

Yeah, same here.

Ruien 08-30-2005 07:54 PM

It was the 450, not just any moonsault.

KayfabeMan 08-30-2005 08:12 PM

*McMahon clears throat*

VKM: "If I could have your attention for just a second. I'd like to let you know that we've officially banned the use of anything that will get anyone over in anyway. Now where did I put those Classics action figures?" :shifty:

The 450 isn't even a moonsault.

From what I've read, the 450 and the moonsault have been banned.

SuperSlim 08-30-2005 09:35 PM

pretty soon the only move allowed from the top will be an elbow drop

That was banned years ago. Michaels just uses hisbackstage pull to keep it up.

SuperSlim 08-30-2005 09:58 PM

oh... I guess that explains why Flair can never do a move off the top rope but always get tossed off.

Kapoutman 08-30-2005 10:14 PM

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to inform you from now on that only kicks, punches and clothesline are allowed, unless given special permissions. As far as finishes go, each match must end with a roll-up unless noted otherwise before the match. Thank you".

Coming soon to WWE meeting.

RottingFreak 08-30-2005 10:25 PM

So why was the moonsault banned? Did someone get hurt while doing it or something? Or is it Holly's fault..?
When the WWE is banning moves like the piledriver or the freaking moonsault it just makes me wonder about "wrestling" these days... God how I miss the old days.

Corkscrewed 08-30-2005 10:34 PM

No, that was just a dream you had after you tripped out on LSD.

(j/k; yeah, I think that would be the only time)

JH 08-30-2005 10:39 PM

nah i've actually saw him hit it a few times through the years but the one on race was the only time he ever did anything with it

kinglacoste 08-30-2005 10:40 PM

It's an aerial move. 'Nuff said.

He Actually hit it on Triple H a few year ago, for Proof, just pop your Ultimate Ric Flair DVD in and watch the match between him and Trips

loopydate 08-30-2005 11:14 PM

So much for my hopes of Super Crazy lasting until the end of the year...

Hasn't he been moonsaulting of later anyway?

Gone Mad 08-30-2005 11:25 PM

Vince gets injured walking into a ring, so should we ban the ring too? Cut me a freakin' break! :nono:

There will be a day when wrestling matches will mostly consist of just handshakes and maybe pats on the back, due to the stupid bannings.

mitch_h 08-31-2005 12:04 AM

Give me a break... reading topics like this certainly doesn't make me regret not watching any WWE in the last year.

kinglacoste 08-31-2005 01:08 AM

Kane Knight 08-31-2005 02:46 AM

Impact! 08-31-2005 02:49 AM

Nooooooooooooo {Austin Powers Steamroller style]

:shifty:

Chavo Classic 08-31-2005 10:07 AM

For my next trick, I will ban the use of the eye-poke. Now there's a dangerous move

Impact! 08-31-2005 10:10 AM

Oh ma gawd king, Vince just used the finger poke of doom, that's as dangerous as it gets.

:shifty:

Chavo Classic 08-31-2005 10:31 AM

This is bad news all round. The CW looks like becoming all mat-based (especially with Nunzio as champion) and could lead to the departures of talents luche-typed wrestlers such as London - who are some of the best entertainers on WWE tv.

Don't get me wrong, I like Guido. He pulled off some 5* matches in ECW, but a CW match in the WWE is basically a faster version of a heavyweight match with smaller wrestlers. Their shows need the diversity provided by the CW division, especially if it's going to keep viewers like myself interested.

The MAC 08-31-2005 10:32 AM

moonsault banned? they should have banned the moved Brock botched and wm20.

far more dangerous bumps going on than a moonsault.

Chavo Classic 08-31-2005 10:34 AM

The Shooting Star Press? I believe they have banned that also.

And yeh, you're right. There are far more dangerous bumps than a moonsault. Just look at this week's Raw and Smackdown. We had Edge and Matt Hardy diving off a ten foot stage and Ken Kennedy nearly breaking his neck trying to plant Funaki. I really hope Kennedy doesn't botch that move!

Morgan 08-31-2005 11:24 AM

This is getting ridiculous, I bet this is all to turn the WWE into a rockem, sockem robots type deal. Both wrestlers stuck to the mat, just within punching distance of each other. Match ends when someones head comes off.
