Sudden Cade/Murdoch thought

Ok I don't have a huge story set out but basically I suddenly just had a thought. I can suddenly see the WWE putting Cade/Murdoch in some sort of fued with Tatanka since hes signed a contract and said he's going to get in shape (and possibly Eugene if they find a way for him to become a native American. Similar to Hidenrich and Animal becoming the L.O.D.)
and it would be like Cowboys and Indians kinda thing going on.
I'm honestly not sure what Cade/Murdoch are meant to be. Cade reminds me of a cowboy but Murdoch reminds me of a trucker.

Impact! 09-05-2005 10:19 AM

Yeah I could see Cade and Murdoch attacking or fueding with tatanaka and having eugene come out dressed as a indian, but still doing his retard gimmick.

And yes, murdoch seems like a trucker more than a cowboy, maybe a slack jawed yokel perhaps.

Chavo Classic 09-05-2005 10:40 AM

GOD NO!

Savio 09-05-2005 11:51 AM

I imagine them chasing tatanka around the ring.

Chavo Classic 09-05-2005 11:53 AM

Tatanka is chased out of the arena but sets up his own casino in the foyer of the arena on the next raw.

The general idea of Tatanka being back. Anything which expands on that gets a bigger GOD NO!

Mr. Nerfect 09-06-2005 06:13 PM

I actually thought during a Heart Throbs match that if they ever faced off against Cade and Murdoch, it would be nice if they came down to the ring in Indian-style clothes. Sort of like those gimmicky strippers...:shifty:

Anyway, I don't like the idea of Tatanka facing Cade and Murdoch. Bring in a new Native American tag team and then you might have something.

and there goes the last thread of your apparent hetrosexuality

ThruTheWire 09-06-2005 07:48 PM

After seeing Raw.. all I can think is..

Man do Cade and Murdock suck ass. That was possibly the shittiest most boring tag match I've seen in ages.

Danny Electric 09-06-2005 07:49 PM

Tatanka = greatness

Destor 09-06-2005 07:52 PM

I really enjoyed Cade & Murdoch.

I think they will announce a Tag Team Turmoil match on RAW next week for the Tag Titles at Unforgiven.

Hurricane and Rosey VS The Heart Throbs VS Vis and Val VS Cade and Murdock

Chavo Classic 09-06-2005 08:03 PM

Anything to get the belt off that fat goon

Hmm, I don't know maybe it's just me, I guess I've always just kind of hated tag team wrestling.

Chavo Classic 09-06-2005 08:08 PM

Tag team wrestling seems to be really repititive... same formula over and over again. The only tag match I've enjoy recently was AMW against XXX in the six sides of steel at a TNA PPV. It was so innovative and brought out the best in all four men.

Destor 09-06-2005 08:15 PM

I like their chemistry. Murdoch got heat and it was his first night. (it wasn't thunderous but there was a crowd reaction) Murdoch looked a little sloppy, but hell, hes a trucker. I don't think he needs to be a by the book technical wrestler. Cade continues to impress me. The guy might have something. Something special.

Yeah I thought their match on Monday was awful.

weather vane 09-06-2005 10:43 PM

Cade and Murdoch are unreal.

.44 Magdalene 09-06-2005 11:21 PM

****SPOILERS, BUT THAT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS. PENIS.****

Yeah, I don't know what match you jerk offs were watching. I fucking love Cade and Murdoch.

Seriously. Cade's decent in the ring, put up a few actual wrestling moves (nothing Benoit-level impressive, but enough to establish that he's the "serious wrestler" half) and provides an excellent opposite to Murdoch's goofy, out of hand style. Murdoch can't wrestle nearly as well, but they're playing up to that. He sells like a dumb, untechnical bastard--like he's NOT the wrestler type, he's just the Pinky to Cade's Brain. The ending was refreshingly well thought out, with Murdoch suddenly doing a fairly creative wrestling move--not just brawling his way out--and then abruptly looking confident as hell despite having been tossed about like some kind of 'tard for most of the match. He acted his goofy part to a T. Get beat up, make it comical, act like you had it under control when you finally pull out the last stop.

Speaking of which, he needs to call his finisher the Truck Driver. :shifty:

Oh, and one other thing I like: Murdoch's angry face. He looks like Beaker from the Muppets, or Peewee Herman's neighbor in that one movie.

Anyway, I digress. These guys fit each other, they contrast in styles both wrestling and promo-wise perfectly...they're a REAL TAGTEAM, and frankly, I'm not disappointed so far.

Mr. Nerfect 09-07-2005 07:42 AM

I watched this match, hearing about how awful Trevor Murdoch was, and I must say I didn't see it. Granted, his Irish whip wasn't perfect, but re-watching it, it wasn't horrible. Ashley screwing up the sunset flip, that was what I'd call horrible. It's sorta realistic when people make mistakes in the ring, though, so I don't mind.

Cade is pretty good if you ask me. He's got a classy yet dirty look to him, and I like the chemistry he has with Murdoch. I think Lance Cade will be going places.

I really think that Cade and Murdoch put up a good showing, and each has talent. I also liked the Val Venis & Viscera vs. The Heart Throbs match. It seemed more exciting than your regular tag team matches.

I think TNT needs to stray from the tag team formula eventually. Have Cade isolated one match or something instead of the babyface. Then have Murdoch come in ape shit cleaning house. Don't book them as complete heels, just black hats kicking ass.

Nark Order 09-07-2005 12:20 PM

Lance Cade is ripped out of his mind now.

Vastardikai 09-07-2005 01:57 PM

I think a better background would help, and cut the goofiness from Murdoch.

A better background, as in, HOW DID THESE TWO MEET? Off the top of my head, I came up with the thing like Cade is a bit of a ladies man, and he was trying to pick up a chick at the bar Murdoch regularly drinks in. This upsets the girl's boyfriend and his buddies, which happens to be a biker gang. There's some trouble and a fight breaks out. Murdoch, just liking to fight, joins in and helps Cade clean house. They become fast friends, and decide to take over the tag ranks.

Secondly, cut the goofiness from Trevor Murdoch. Make the guy just be a NASTY, FOUL TEMPERED SON OF A BITCH. Part of the thing in the match I thought was, in promos he was goofy, in the ring he was mean, especially with the snarl. Basically, act like he just wants to hurt somebody just to hurt somebody, more along the lines of Stan Hansen and Dick Murdoch, which this guy is obviously based off of in ring. In promo, leave the idea of him making guys squeal like a pig in the minds of Creative, and just let the guy talk about how he wants to beat people's ass.

Style-wise, have Cade be a bit more technical, with some brawling, tag in Murdoch, have him be the bruiser. He isn't built like a Technical God, and he shouldn't work like one. The Top Rope Bulldog is a good touch for a finish, though.

Kane Knight 09-07-2005 02:25 PM

Okay, a few things:

1) Cade and Murdoch made a DECENT, not GREAT, debut. They're already a leg up on Mordecai and Masters.

2) Mistakes in a debut match, and simple ones at that, are okay to an extent. Goofing an irish whip is not the same as breaking someone's face.

3) With recent debuts, I can udnerstand why people are so critical, but they need to tone it down a bit.

4) If you don't like it, mock it. Murdoch's pretty funny, and I think that's the point of his enthusiasm. I doubt even the WWE could think "wow, this guy is intense." Though I've been wrong before.

5) Cade's biggest problem in the ring prior to this was no reason to care. Hell, his finisher wasn't even important enough to be named, or even treated as anything other than another move. Half of you probably didn't know he had one. Well all that's changed, and he's going to be interesting. Hopefully.

6) We don't need a deep backstory. Most tag teams do not, or it is filled in as we go.

7) It doesn't matter whether we like 'em or not. They're not only our only choice in tage teams, but they'll probably be fired in a year.

RP 09-07-2005 02:53 PM

8) They cut some of the worst promos i've ever seen. How they manage to con everyone into getting to the ring let alone the backstage area and away from OVW is beyond me. They suck. Really bad. That just my honest opinion.

Kane Knight 09-07-2005 02:55 PM

9) You've not been watching wrestling long, have you?

Vastardikai 09-07-2005 03:02 PM

I thought the Intro Vignettes looked good, but didn't go with the team.

wwe2222 09-07-2005 04:37 PM

Murdoch was alot smaller than I thought he would be. Cade has a nice new look, etc. I was pretty excited about them after watching the promos, but a little disappointed with their first match. Then again I dont care for Rosie and Hurrican as a tag team much so it was hard to get into the match. Im glad its a new tag team though so Ill give em a chance.

The real team debut I was excited about on raw was Big Vis and Big Val!

I do have to admit that one of the only reasons I watch wrestling anymore is the camp factor. Things like Heidenreich, which are so horrible you HAVE to laugh. I haven't paid much attention to them in their promos except to laugh at the overall gayness (On of the funniest things in wrestling is how such a macho sport is so insanely gay and rife with gay characters). They are, perhaps, the biggest faggots on the roster, and they're trying to play up this intense angle...It's GOLD.

Deceit 09-07-2005 08:33 PM

Murdoch and Cade are actually going to be a decent tag team and hopefully bring some much needed prestige to the tag division on raw.

Cade is looking much better in the ring and on the mic than he was before the injury. Glad he's back in top shape

Boondock Saint 09-08-2005 12:57 AM

I enjoyed them. Aside from Murdoch's irish whip which is no big deal really, as long he works on it cuz it was fairly obvious.

Someone mentioned in the RAW thread, LC I think, that they have an NWA style to them, which I agree with. I'm hoping they stick around for a while.

Skippord 09-08-2005 08:58 PM

I like the match of Ned Beaty Vs Murdoch
