Holy Shit, World Cup Games

So I just found out every single World Cup game will air on ESPN or ESPN 2 next year  Fuck yea. First time it's ever happened in America.

So for you Yanks who watch the WC (i.e. probably just me and BCWWF) we get all the games this time.

Nervous Ferret 09-08-2005 12:27 AM

eah was watchun argentina or whatever
lol

Loose Cannon 09-08-2005 12:28 AM

lol what

Nervous Ferret 09-08-2005 12:36 AM

there is a WC qualifier game on now I think. ESPN2

argentina is playing i think

Nervous Ferret 09-08-2005 12:37 AM

Or it might be like some Argentinian Outdoor network replaying a 2 week old game. you never know with DirecTV

Loose Cannon 09-08-2005 12:38 AM

I've got USA vs Guatemala on mine

Nervous Ferret 09-08-2005 12:38 AM

yeah thats it

BCWWF 09-08-2005 11:28 AM

There were quite a few on in Korea/Japan, but they were all just on at like midnight, 3 a.m., and 6 a.m. That still made for some fun nights though, we had a big party for the 3 a.m. game against Mexico, it was pretty sweet.

What times will the Germany games be on here? I assume morning, like 7 a.m., 10 a.m., 1 p.m.?

Mr. Monday Morning 09-08-2005 01:42 PM

Germany will be 6 hours ahead of EST, kickoffs will mostly be at about 4pm at the very earliest and 8pm at the latest.

BCWWF 09-08-2005 04:11 PM

No that can't be right, if a game started at 8 p.m. EST it would be 2 a.m. in Germany.

I'd think that a primetime (7 p.m.) game would start at 1 p.m. then in New York. Unless prime time is 8 p.m. or doesn't exist at all? Now that I think about it, I remember France being pretty much morning games here as well.

BCWWF 09-08-2005 04:12 PM

Oh nevermind, It

BCWWF 09-08-2005 04:12 PM

Oh nevermind, I thought you meant they would start at 8 p.m. EST

BCWWF 09-08-2005 04:13 PM

Sorry, this computer is being fucked up, but how about Northern Ireland?

The Miz 09-08-2005 05:25 PM

Go Poland

Fignuts 09-08-2005 05:41 PM

U.S.A. beats Mexico.

Snap.

PureHatred 09-08-2005 05:53 PM

I watch all the available games; even when the Copa Mundial was in France and tha tmeant getting up at 3 am. So this is happy news.

SammyG 09-08-2005 08:28 PM

Usa will make it to the elite 8 for sure. Like last year, then we got screwed on that handball by that german fuck on the goal line. fuckers.

Fignuts 09-08-2005 08:38 PM

We are already in. So is Mexico, Germany(duh), Brazil, Argentina, Japan, and Ukraine.

Nervous Ferret 09-08-2005 08:39 PM

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

Comeon, it would be ROFL if we won that shit and nobody cared

Loose Cannon 09-08-2005 08:40 PM

Saudi Arabia and Iran are in too.

Nervous Ferret 09-08-2005 08:46 PM

On the other hand, it might come off as "cool" to the next gen. and there could be a soccer boom in the U.s :meh:

Fignuts 09-08-2005 08:59 PM

Technically there already is a soccer boom. It's getting more popular here every year.

Nervous Ferret 09-08-2005 09:00 PM

"technically"

But by the high school level the only kids who stilll play are real fags :nono:

Fignuts 09-08-2005 09:13 PM

You must go to school in San Diego.

Funky Fly 09-08-2005 09:58 PM

ssssssssssssssssssexy

BCWWF 09-09-2005 01:21 AM

The US has no chance of winning it this year, but depending on the draw they could get back to where they were last year. If FIFA rankings were accurate and Casey Keller actually is the best keeper in the world, then I'll be damned. I still stand that the US will make a run at the finals in the next 15 years though, even though everybody east of the Atlantic wrote paragraphs against it last time I said anything.

Danny Electric 09-09-2005 01:32 AM

lol
elite 8

BCWWF 09-09-2005 01:42 AM

Lol, I figured somebody would point that out.

Even the idiots of the world have to enjoy the World Cup, it is unlike any other event in team sports.

Danny Electric 09-09-2005 02:03 AM

I think the last two big events, world cup and euro championships have shown that the gap between the better and poorer sides is getting smaller and that anhything can happen.

Can't wait for the World Cup. La Copa Mundial! Go USA, Italy, and Nigeria

Crimson 09-10-2005 07:52 PM

I watched the WC back in since '94 so this will be the 4th one. Good to see that it'll be on espn.
