COME ON ENGLAND!

packt up 09-12-2005 10:57 AM

Warne is a legend but WOOOOO England look set for the draw now.

Mr. Monday Morning 09-12-2005 12:58 PM

*Warne & McGrath

Ian Bell doesn't deserve to be part of the celebrations :nono: Geraint Jones hasn't been much better.

But whatever

Team Sheep 09-12-2005 01:01 PM

Not long to go now. :D

Team Sheep 09-12-2005 01:18 PM

The urn is England's! (and Wales' ;) )

Mike the Metal Ed 09-12-2005 01:28 PM

Moonax 09-12-2005 02:04 PM

Cricket seems a little more interesting when the games are close.

toxic rooster 09-12-2005 09:30 PM

Gotta love how you only made a thread when England had it won.

Bad Company 09-12-2005 10:27 PM

Who would of thought! And fuck that bitch looks like a pig.

lol sorry next time I'll quit work and post earlier for you :(

Seriously though the best series I've ever watched. Admittedly I'm not a big cricket fan but this was great to watch. All credit to the Australians too they still are a great side and yeah Warne and McGrath probably two of the best bowlers ever. And Warne showed he could bat too :D. And in defeat they have been great. And Brett Lee is just Mr Smiley.

LOVE ALL ROUND REALLY

The Mackem 09-13-2005 04:08 AM

Gotta love the day when the Aussies came back out after bad light with sunglasses. That's one of the most admirable things about cricket the pursuit of fair play and the good humour involved. I know it's not all roses but it's a breath of fresh air when compared with football.

Y2C 09-13-2005 04:29 AM

I've never seen so many people go ape-shit over a draw in my whole life.

Congratulations England, you just retained The Ashes for the 17th year in a row, only this time you guys actually won the series.

As for Warnie, the more women that he sleeps with, the better he gets. Here's hoping that a few more hundred sluts come out & say that they've fucked him, so then by the next Ashes series he will have about 800 wickets! :D

& yeah, LOL at you guys waiting until the series was over until gloating about it (and not even in a proper fashion - 1 thread in the sports forum is shithouse when you should have the whole casual forum covered in these threads).

Anyways, I've seen the most dominating team since the Invincibles play test cricket for the past 11 years as well as 2 World Cups, so I'm not too fussed if the Poms win 1 series as now we have a benchmark of 17 years to break, the next time that we play youse in '06/07.

Hired Hitman 09-13-2005 04:33 AM

Too right, Y2C.

Y2C 09-13-2005 04:41 AM

& in all honesty, get fucked "that was the greatest test series ever". The West Indies tour of 94/95 was the greatest test series that I have ever seen in my life.

With the series tied 1-1 going into the last test (and the winner being declared the best side in the world), Steve Waugh came out on their own turf & belted 200 runs in probably the most courageous innings in the history of the game, to win the test match, the series, the Frank-Worrell trophy, & become officially the best side in the world and start the dominating run which they did.

Wow noone said that but OK.

Way to throw a tirade at noone who even insulted Australia and generally were complimentary though :y:

I must've missed the multiple threads you made.

Nice prediction. Do you take betting lessons from McGrath or something.

Learn how to gloat about a good win.

Y2C 09-13-2005 05:04 AM

& MMM, McGrath was never involved in any betting - that was Warne & Mark Waugh. :wtf: :wtf:

Moonax 09-13-2005 05:04 AM

Does my face looked bovvered?

Next you'll be telling us that the Rugby League World Cup is far more important than the Ashes.

The Ashes, the Rugby World Cup - are there any sports the Aussies are any good at?

lol :p To be honest I'm not really a cricket fan so it doesn't mean that much to me. It's really the only cricket I've even slightly followed barring the 99 WC (which I also thought was entertaing btw) :P But just for you...

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IN YOUR FACE YOU SHRIMP ON THE "BARBIE" LOVING CRIMINAL

:D Happy?

I think he's just refering to McGrath's 5-0 prediction.

Also those boobies pointing in different directions makes me queasy :(

Oh, meh wasn't listening to him as he tends to be fairly boring whenever he says anything.

The Ashes isn't a sport - it's a trophy between 2 countries, you nounce.

The last time I checked Australia were still no. 1 in the world.

Moonax 09-13-2005 05:18 AM

The whole Parade stuff is such bullshit though. Way OTT. All that happened was that they beat Australia. Hardly splitting the atom.

You can bet your arse that none of those 'new cricket fans' will be there next April when the next summer series starts.

Still makes up for having had to endure the likes of Ronnie Irani and all those other carthorses who have played for England over the years.

But number 1 at what? Whinging? bar-tending? pretending not to care after being duffed-up by a punch of pommie-pie-throwers?

The Mackem 09-13-2005 05:24 AM

I don't understand the parade at all, after all it's only between two sides. It keeps the Londerners happy I guess.

It doesn't make me happy. It means that the bus will take twice as long to get across town and there will be a great number of twats and tourists getting in my way.

I hope that it rains and all those new glory-boy fans get struck by lightening.

The Mackem 09-13-2005 05:31 AM

Ach well just be happy that we've finally got a decent cricket team and for once Australia aren't invincible and then before we know it nobody will give a shit about cricket anymore, just like rugby.

The England side have been alright for a while, I don't think they have lost a series for a couple of years. I was impressed when I saw the Eng/SA series in SA earlier this year, as they totally dominated them.

Moonax 09-13-2005 05:41 AM

Oh yes - I'm sure that as a Sunderland fan that you know that years of failure make success all the more sweet and enjoyable.

Cricket didn't exist before this series

1 series means fuck all. We played shithouse for most of the series & people are saying that it's one of the greatest series of modern time.

I bet you are happy that Bristol City spent a load of money in the summer but still get beat 8-1 of teams.
