[Postcard] Pretty Hate Machine [/Postcard]

Uhhh...I've got the discography lieing around somewhere lemme get back to you later (or maybe tomorrow :$ ) on that.

Or just wait for Joel :shifty:

Kane Knight 01-22-2004 12:53 PM

I think it depends on what you're looking for out of his work.

Pretty Hate Machine is different from Broken is different frm The Downward Spiral is different from The Fragile is different from...Etc.

The Mask 01-22-2004 01:13 PM

I'm ust wondering which is more widely regarded to as their best album, or the easiest one to get into I guess. that way, when I like it I can kind of work backwards :'(

The Destroyer 01-22-2004 01:39 PM

They've only got 3 albums proper anyway, so it's not a massively hard decision. If you want an overview, you could always go for And All That Could Have Been live album, which pretty much acts as a best of as well...

I'd probably go for the Downward Spiral though. Get Broken too, it's more an EP or mini album, but it's got some great songs. :y:

It's funny. You've got Broken, which is one of the proper records (technically), at 8 songs (with the two bonus) being charged as a full album in stores. Further Down the Spiral Is pretty much full length, but is treated as and charged as an EP.

The Destroyer 01-22-2004 01:53 PM

Not sure what I paid for Broken, but it wasn't quite album price... it was more like a typical EP price, but then it might have been on sale.

Kane Knight 01-22-2004 02:06 PM

Hmmm...They charge us like it's a full record.

On the other hand, I IMPORTED two versions of further, each for less than I'd pay for a full record (With import costs included, I paid like 12 bucks apiece...)...Further domestically is like 6 or 7 bucks...

The Down In It single. Nothing else. Halo One is the only album that matters.

Sin is awesome. Between Sin and the Queen Cover...
(It's one of the first NiN items I ever actually owned myself)

Joeleosis 01-23-2004 05:08 AM

I'm more gothic than you are, Travis.

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-23-2004 11:46 AM

I ain't listened to NIN in...goddamn... 8-9 years. Need to get my dog-faced sister to bring round her tapes.

Downward Spiral was quite good as I remember, but can't say they ever did much for me then.

Definitly have to get her to bring'em round.

hmmmmmmmmmmm

Jason Cage 01-24-2004 09:42 PM

The Downward Spiral and The Fragile, get them.

As far as highlights go, the whole Downward is a ****ing highlight.

The Fragile: The Day the whole world went away, somewhat damaged, star****ers inc, the fragile

Seyda 01-28-2004 10:11 AM

The Downward Spiral is my favorite, but hey, anything they do is good.

Also, if you're into techno type music and remixes, check out Chris Vrenna's site. tweeker.net
