I am repulsed by every song I hear on my playlist
I need some new jams. Is there any new pop-punk bands or whatever that I have no idea who they are? I don't care if it's mainstream or indy or anything, anything that sounds similar to Blink/Starting Line/NFG, you know, all that whiney stuff. Nothing that's all like "rarrrrrr I scream and sing about my heart being engulfed by misery" type whining, more just like "woooo I am a teenager and I like girls but they don't like me" type whining. Hook it up. Actually I'll probably just pop in TOYPAJ. Fuck. Mitch hook it up

I will send you a bunch of shit when I see you on AIM next.
Get these for now though if you can't wait: The Academy Is... The Arcade Fire (indy but you will prolly like them cause they rule) Bloc Party (same as above) Boys Night Out hellogoodbye Hot Hot Heat Matchbook Romance Moneen Rooney Say Anything DUNNO though. I haven't really followed any new up and coming bands lately. Someone hook me up too. |
YES Arcade Fire is immense, I've been meaning to pick up their CD actually, just haven't gotten out to Best Buy Yet. Rooney are all right, I have a few songs them, gimme some hot ones to downloaddd. Say Anything are immense, though I've only heard about 3 songs by them (A Walk Through Hell is the goods), need some more by them  I'll czech out el other bands as well

I've got a local band (well they are done now) but they are honestly one of my favorite bands of all time. I think they are your style, but when I made a thread about them it got no responses. If you want me to send you their album I can, they aren't on kazaa or anything like that though.
They are called The Commonplace. There is another band with a guy who used to be in my high school named Somerset though, and they are actually supposed to be getting national recognition. I've never heard them, but has anybody else heard of them? From what I've heard they are the same type of music, kind of like the pop-punk but not shit like Simple Plan stuff. My screen name is cbasssssssssssss (13 s's) if you want me to send it |

Check out cdbaby.com. You can browse by genre, or even by who bands sound like. The include the übertrendy styles of music, though the artist names might not be familliar. With two minute samples on multiple songs per album, it's easy to find what you want.

Pop punk/indie-jive feel-good goodness:
Any or all of the above.  |
Also, Brandtson.
|
And Gob. I think they are Canadian. Old band though, but punky excellence.
|
OH, and Eskimo Joe. You would like them. They are Australian too, but I think you would enjoy their music. Download "Wake Up" and "Who Sold Her Out".
And Gyroscope, for some more Australian punk. |
ESKIMO JOE...
I liked their song "sweater" a lot. :D They are a great Aussie band. |
Fall Out Boy
Also, try some Muse, they could be considered indie, but they are the goods. |
I got tols to listen to Architecture in Helsinki last night.
Also try Scary Kids Scaring Kids |
RDD, go to Phog on univeristy road in windsor. They play alot of stuff you'd be into. Lots of great indie music, from what some of my friends tell me. I'm not at all into it, but you may be
|
While I was in Edmonton, I could not go one day without hearing about the Arcade Fire. Figures, since they are from Montreal.

I don't think you like their type of music, but check out some of the CoB and CoF songs in my In Flames thread. I didn't think I'd like them either, but anything's possible.
